A good debut
I found myself enjoying this story, though the ending was a bit rushed. Overall, this author has some serious potential, if her first book is anything to go by. I look forward to seeing where she goes from here.
I enjoy a good amnesia story and this one scratched my itch.
When Henley wakes up after an accident, she can’t remember anything about her life for the last five years. That includes the man at her bedside, her husband Graham. As she begins to recover she also learns more about the man she’s married to and quickly learns how it was possible to have fallen in love with him. But someone wants to hurt her and her happy ever after remains just out of reach.
I liked Henley and the way she was independent even as Graham was determined for her to rely on him. She was a sweet heroine with great friends and an open heart. And she recognized that she had a good thing in the man that was a stranger to her.
Graham was an amazing hero. All he wanted was to take care of Henley. It was a driving force within him. His protective instincts are showcased throughout the story without overwhelming it. He was kind, caring, and so gentle and sweet. I loved everything about him.
This has some mystery and drama that runs through it that helped to keep the story moving. The initial hospital scenes were a bit unbelievable and I struggled with suspending disbelief during that time – it being the beginning of the book almost made me not continue – but I persevered and I’m glad I did. With a touch of humor, plenty of steam, and some nice secondary characters, this was a satisfying read and I’ll definitely be reading more from this author.
Dual POV
Safe no ow/om drama
Triggers secondary character gave baby up for adoption
EXCELLENT, WONDERFUL story!! THIS is how you do romantic suspense w/o getting caught up in relationship angst, and I LOVED it!
Graham & Henley’s story is about love, hope, and friendship. It’s paced well, and written beautifully. I enjoyed every page & I didn’t want to put it down even when I had to sleep & then go to work!! Huge thumbs up to this story! : )
Alright I admit it, I read this because it’s another Boom Factory Publishing book. What I failed to realise when I signed up for it was that it isn’t a theme I normally like. Second chance romance isn’t my thing, but since this had the amnesia twist I overlooked that. However when I went to pick it up I expected it to be sad and emotional and I was a little reluctant to dive in.
But since it was a beautiful, hot day and the kids were all chilling in the pool I really didn’t have any excuses. And then I couldn’t put it down. It wasn’t at all sad and emotional and with a solid mix of intrigue along with a hot AF alpha and a heroine who wasn’t a drama queen I loved it.
The story was great, really unique without any unnecessary drama. Both characters were awesome. Graham was the perfect caring, doting, protective husband and I loved how respectful he was of the fact that she was his whole world and yet he was a stranger to her. I can’t imagine how hard that would be. But while reading this I appreciated how well the author wrote his character.
Henley woke up not remembering her life and again I can’t and don’t want to imagine how you would deal with that. But damn she did it well. She navigated not knowing Graham but knowing what she felt without drama but also with a lot of sympathy for the fact she wasn’t the only one dealing with this nightmare.
I really loved the characters, the secondary characters, the story and although this is the first book I have read from this author it won’t be the last.
Well, Hope Jones’ debut book surely won’t be my last if they’re all like When She Remembers! The opening hooked me and I was invested in and rooting for Henley until the last word.
While the story focuses on Henley and her recovery, it was Graham who stole the show for me. His patience and protectiveness. How his love shone through all of his actions. How he suffered right along with Henley. How he didn’t turn away even when it hurt him. How he celebrated with her. How he made new memories for the both of them.
That’s not to say that Henley was a slouch. Far from it. She was strong and sassy and determined not to let the mystery of who was threatening her stop her. The danger kept escalating until it came to a heart-stopping head. My heart was racing and I was reading furiously to see how it would all play out.
While the dialogue was a bit repetitive at times, I found myself not minding because it added to the overall feeling of Henley trying to recapture her life. From start to finish, Hope Jones, had me immersed in the mystery and romance of it all. And that ending, it was just what Graham and Henley deserved after all they had been through.
For a debut novel this is an amazing story, and this author is certainly one to watch out for in the future! Henley is in an accident and wakes up in hospital with no memory of the past 5 years, which includes her husband Graham. This is a beautifully written story which is intense, thrilling, and with suspense, twists, and love. I was hooked and intrigued throughout, and I highly recommend for all readers.
What a wonderful debut book for Hope Jones! I loved read and following Graham and Henley’s story. Can’t imagine loosing ones memory, but I feel this author was able to convey all the emotions that Henley goes through. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Total suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat! After an accident that left her in a coma, Henley survives but wakes up thinking it’s five years ago and is in college! In reality, she’s married and has a career, but the past five years including her husband, are a mystery to her. As she transitions home, she starts to remember bits and pieces through dreams, and her husband as well as family and friends try to help her to remember. While the reason behind the accident has nothing to do with Henley’s memory, through the process of gaining her memory back, we find out who is behind the accident as well as other things that have gone on since then, and the person behind it comes out of nowhere! The combination of suspense but also the ability to fall in love a second time for Henley and Graham really pulls this book and the storyline together for me. I couldn’t get enough of both aspects and seeing how they worked together to make the book great!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
When She Remembers is the authors debut book and you would think she has been writing for some time. It is well written, hooks you from beginning to end, gives you that romance and suspense and leaves you with a message about love and marriage. Not many couples would have handled this together the same way. One thing that holds close to your heart is the way they were able to experience love all over again by re-creating moments from before Henley’s memory loss in hopes that it would trigger her memory of her husband. Not many get to find love twice in the same period of time. The world needs more Graham’s so that we can have more marriages that last and hold the vows true. Henley and Graham had it all until the hit and run changed their lives. You can feel the hurt Graham felt during this time, but those smiles you feel has you smiling when it is the little things that Henley remembers about him. I love how he took it slowly to ensure she was moving at her own pace. The actions that occur throughout this story has your heart tugging with love, fear and awe. The twist that was portrayed really keeps you on your toes and page turning trying to find out what transpires. This story captivates you, it will leave you tearing, angry and happy all in one read. I look forward to reading more on this new author.
This suspenseful second chance romance kept me on the edge of my seat from the very first page. It’s an absolute page-turner with a unique second chance romance with a twist.
Henley wakes from an accident and doesn’t remember the last five years of her life. Her husband Graham, is absolutely amazing and doesn’t leave her side no matter what, even though she doesn’t even remember who he is much less that they are married. As time goes by she begins to remember. But her forgotten memories aren’t her only issue, there’s an enemy lurking in the shadows that is closer to home than she ever could have imagined.
