Life on a farm planet at the edge of the universe can be dangerous for a human woman alone. That’s why I need a husband. ANY husband.Unfortunately, all the men I approach keep running off. So I hire a bounty hunter to kidnap me someone capable and strong, someone who will scare off the creeps that are trying to move in on my territory. It’ll be a marriage of convenience only.I should have been a … only.
I should have been a little more specific about who I wanted, though…because the intimidating and fierce praxiian male that the bounty hunter brings to me? The one with feline features, big arms and an even bigger…uh, farm?
He’s the problem I was hoping a new husband would scare off. What am I supposed to do now?
(Don’t ask him, because all of his suggestions are completely and utterly filthy and have nothing to do with a marriage of convenience.)

I love ruby dixon and aspire to read all her stuff. this book was one of the reasons why. it highlighted, with humorous undertones, how very differently two cultures can view things. his attempts to woo her have terrified her into searching for a marriage of convenience. through the ups and downs, they stick together and finally find their happiness.
4.5 stars.
Yet another fab installment in Ruby Dixon’s Risdaverse universe, one that I’ve read at least five times, only to discover that I’ve never reviewed this for Goodreads! What was I thinking?
This time, I’ve been introduced to Praxiians, a feline race totally devoted to family honor, strict rules, and unsavory family customs including selling your third-born male into slavery which is an honorable action for their kind. No wonder most Humans don’t get along well with them.
Kim’s a new resident of Risda who is in desperate need of a platonic husband who can protect her from unsavory souls who would rather kill her for her property. Nassakth is a former champion gladiator who is desperately in love with her and wants to claim her. Hence the dead animal on her doorstep and semen on her doorway. Just the niceties of Praxiian wooing. (Aren’t you glad your intact tomcat doesn’t do that for you??)
So the two of them come to an agreement. She’ll marry him and he protects her from those who would unscrupulously sell her to slavers and walk away with her property only good for growing Praxiian kitty nip which is a potent aphrodisiac to said race.
And for those who are into fap material, it’s pretty steamy.
A well-written novel. Well-written continuity with the other novels of this universe. Great characters, including a few from other books. What can I say? Just get the entire series and be done with it. You’ll be rereading them just like I have!

Thank you, Liz K, a reviewer on Amazon!
This book touched on some sensitive subject regarding both characters, both suffered for years but a bargain of convenience made turns into a love of a lifetime from these two.
This was a fun read and I enjoyed it.
Adored this book! Very humorous and entertaining. The Epilogues were great. In addition to the main couple, I really enjoyed Bethiah. Hope she gets her own story at some point!
Quarantine became amazing because of Ruby’s daily posts. I counted days simply by each post upload.
I had so much fun with this book and with these characters.
I should find all my daily reactions and put them here……… but that would be A LOT of work.
How about this.
READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!
You have to read this amazing book! I put off reading this for a few days because, well, 72 chapters, right? But then I started reading it because, well, Ruby Dixon is a literary artist and her books are ALWAYS sexy and fun as well as exciting and well written. Once I started, it was so hard to stop. My favorite character is Bethaiya, the bounty hunter. Every scene she was in was priceless! The way Kim and Nar….well the paradise hero…..the way they built their relationship and all of his behind the scenes shenanigans was weirdly sweet and at the same time hot. I loved the way this story played out, how the characters interacted, and how they showed up for each other. When they take that road trip I really thought that was the end for them, but even that was written with a depth of emotional understanding thAt made the possibility of another outcome a viable plot point. It took me two days to read this book but it was worth every minute! Don’t be like me, psyching myself out for days before I got to read it. You’re going to want to read this right away.
I loved reading this serial every day during (self) quarantine. Ruby brought light to a lot of lives with her wonderful characters Nassakth and Kim. This story couldn’t have ended better. The extended epilogue is life! All Ruby Dixon fans should read this book! 4.5 stars
