Minnesota.
Three sisters, very different each other: Maggie the eldest loves books, Mikayla and Lindy are twins.
Mikayla, 30 yo, loves wild, hiking, mountain, while Lindy loves dresses and the beauty.
The book is big, more then 350 pages, but very enjoyable, easy to read, realistic, very good characters.
Life is a great journey with challenges, joy, problems, race, love.
“We taught me that with strength comes responsability. Freedom has a cost. I could have both if I understand that and put it into practice.”
I feel the same of Mikayla about the mountain. Mountain helps and heals the soul, it can change the people. Nature is wonderful.

I Couldn’t Stop Reading, once I started. I Highly Recommend You Get this Masterpiece!!
A sweet story of searching for the truth
What Mikayla learns about her heritage, has her stunned. It starts her on a journey of discovery, an attempt to find the truth about who she is.
I have a hard time imagining what finding out this secret would have been like. My family life has always been quite stable and my parents are still madly in love with each other, all these years after their wedding. Yet Stacy Monson has given me a glimpse of what it would feel like to find your hero has feet of clay. My heart went out to Mikayla. While I don’t think I would have reacted as she did, I got it.
I really liked the way Mikayla was so independent and able to do so much by herself and for herself. When she got a flat tire, she didn’t wait to be rescued (for long), she just jumped in and figured out how to fix it. I admire that, even if I’m not sure I could do that myself. And though she questioned her relationship with her dad, she treasured the things he taught her and was constantly quoting him and acting on the things she had learned.
Dawson was fascinating. While I doubt I would have liked him when he was a teen, he was now such a great example of a new life in Christ. I loved the way he poured himself out for the youth coming to his camp and how he turned everyday lessons into spiritual ones. He had a gift for encouraging them to hear the truth about the Lord.
While this story is listed as a romance, if you are looking for lots of flirting and kisses in a story, you should keep looking. I was not disappointed. While I enjoy romance, I actually prefer stories where the romance is secondary to the life change or the adventure or mystery, as with When Mountains Sing.
Mikayla’s borrowed dog, Lula, was so fun! I enjoyed the way this little pipsqueak confidently approached life, not being intimidated or cowed by the bigger dogs!
If you enjoy soul-searching stories with a spiritual bent, I recommend When Mountains Sing to you. I have hopes that following in this series will be more about the other sisters in Mikayla’s family. I am looking forward to reading more books by Stacy Monson.

I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
When I first read the synopsis on what this book was about, I passed. It again popped on my email feed by a blogger, and I’m so glad that I gave it another look. I am not outdoorsy, and thought that would impact how I could relate to the story. It was themed, but not over my head with any of the descriptions. Mikayla had something that we can ALL relate to: lack of confidence in herself, and not knowing where she fit in. Each person, at some point will doubt themselves, and their abilities. I LOVED how the author brought out that our identity is first rooted in God, not ourselves. When we focus inward, we can get lost so easily. If we chose to root our identity in our jobs or our families, when those dynamics change we loose our footing. This book is a great reminder of that truth!! I also liked how the characters were relational in their witness for God. To come along side someone as a friend, then introduce them to THE best Friend.
