Can the Master Potter work in Megan’s heart and save her marriage?
Megan and Wes have the perfect marriage. Or at least, they did until when Wes began working longer hours and she became irritable and needy.
If only she hadn’t committed to leading a spiritual disciplines course in her women’s group at church. How can she lead when God seems so far away, and her spirit, so dry?
But she’s good … and her spirit, so dry?
But she’s good at leading. She can do this. She can pretend everything’s fine. So long as the women don’t see through her façade and into her soul…
Wes is doing his best for his family. He’s working long hours, but it’s only for a season.
Why can’t Megan see that?
Will their marriage survive when Megan seems so ambivalent? How has this happened when they’re the model couple at church? It doesn’t seem possible.

When Love Abounds is a very inspiring story that makes you think about your own relationship with God. The book encouraged me to deal with things differently. A real eye opener
I enjoyed this book for the most part. I was surprised that the author was able to make a story from four women’s perspective work. Because it was in third-person, there were a few times I was confused whose head we were in. Most of the chapters were labeled for one woman each chapter, except for the last. I actually enjoyed getting to know all four women. I related to Megan most, but the other three were also relatable. I liked how seamlessly the weeks passed by focusing on one woman at a time.
I also absolutely loved the faith thread! I’ve been wanting more Christian fiction like this, where the characters’ faith impacts their everyday lives, and we get to see their prayers, fears, and spiritual struggles.
It was also interesting to learn about some of these spiritual disciples that I’ve never heard of before. Apparently, this is from a denomination that I’ve never even visited. Some of them sounded a bit mystical, but as I’m reading a nonfiction book that talks about some of these meditation methods, I would like to learn more.
The only things I didn’t like were:
1- that I never knew where Coral Bay was. Because the only other place mentioned was California, I thought maybe it was near there. But it wasn’t until the Epilogue that I finally realized that this was set in Australia. Because I was under the impression that this was taking place in the States, the few British/ Australian phrases jumped out at me and pulled me out of the story.
2- I didn’t like how the Epilogue didn’t actually mention God. After all the beautiful Scriptures and spiritual journeys, I was disappointed that the One whom Megan’s faith was in, the object of her faith, wasn’t actually mentioned.
But on the whole, a very rewarding read, and one I recommend.
Favorite quotes:
“She wondered if she wasn’t having some kind of early mid-life crisis” (chapter 1). I did.
“Isn’t that what mothers did? Lifted their chins and carried on?” (chapter 1)
“She wondered if she’d done the right thing. There’d be no getting out of the course now.” (chapter 1)
“She had to confess that it wasn’t God she was hiding from so much as herself.” (chapter 2)
“Perhaps they all had their own ways of hiding, Megan reflected.” (chapter 2)
“Yet in some ways, her seemingly perfect life was no more than a mirage, too.” (chapter 2)
“Whatever was going on with her, she could get through it. She had to. Oblivious, Wes snored on.” (chapter 2)
“An inner voice told her that wasn’t the way forward. She knew that; she just didn’t want to face it.” (chapter 3)
“She wondered who she was if she wasn’t ‘Mummy’? Was there anything of Megan left?” (chapter 6)
“Although she listed the things that she was grateful for, it had been hard to actually muster up that feeling.” (chapter 9)
“A deep and honest look at one’s self under God’s guidance. It was a wonderful idea. But in practice, there was no doubt it could be deeply uncomfortable.” (chapter 10)
“The Beatitudes, which can seem like lofty, almost abstract principles at times, can mean something as simple and as profound as washing one another’s feet.” (chapter 17)
This is a fantastic read I love the Art work on the book cover and how the Author brings the wonderful story to life. I feel like I get to know the characters and feel for them as well. I was given this read. The Author does a fantastic job at bringing the story to fruition and the world building is fantastic as well. I definitely recommend.

Wow!! Ms. Duncan has done it again…made me cry many of tears while reading this book. This story is so powerful and has given me a new outlook on ways I can practice walking in my faith. Four women bound with insecurities are joined together in a group that forever impacts their lives. Not only practicing together their walk in faith but bonding a friendship that will keep them connected in faith, heart and love forever. A special gift only God can orchestrate! I so appreciate how Ms Duncan designed a group program to share the individual lives of the characters but entwined them so beautifully together.
Megan and Wes are always ready to help others but now Wes is working long hours and Megan is feeling neglected. Megan leads a small group on prayer even while feeling troubled about her marriage. You’ll love how these ladies grow spiritually and help one another. I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.
This is a great book about 4 different women who are each dealing with their own unique problems. They meet weekly for a bible study and this changes all their lives. Juliette Duncan has done a great job in capturing each of their individual stories and bringing it together in one story. I highly recommend this well written book.
This is a wonderful story of seeking and finding God’s will for your life. We all have struggles but God is always there.Juliette Duncan has a way with words that you can tell God is with her. Megan and Wes were struggling with there marriage. Three other women joined Megan’s Bible study. Through the study and a weekend retreat God transformed them all. I was given a ARC of this book and I highly recommend reading it.
Juliette Duncan continues to bring wonderful stories that showcase God’s working in individuals lives. This book told the story of four different women who have very different, but similar needs and how our Lord meets them where they are and brings others into their lives to speak His truth and to help them find what God most desires for them. I really enjoyed reading this book and found so much hope and encouragement to be reminded that God is the God who cares for each and every one of His children. I received a complimentary copy of this book, but have freely chosen to offer my own thoughts and opinions.
A well written, beautiful story of growing in faith and in the knowledge that you are truly loved by God. This story follows four women and their journey into a deeper relationship with God amidst self doubt, fears, and even prior hurts . I really related to the main character as she expressed fear that her “seemingly perfect life was no more than a mirage too.” I have been where she was and felt God’s love break through to make me whole. At one point she fears the group she is leading “will think me a hypocrite and shouldn’t be leading the course”. How many of us have had this self doubt especially when the course is going really well for others? Juliette Duncan writes true examples of our lives as struggling Christians into beautiful stories of redemption and love!
Four women – sorta friends – start a Bible Study. This study takes them places they never expected and God uses it to show HIS love in very unexpected ways. This book will make you think (sure made me think!) about how God can use us if we only allow Him to work in us!!!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.
Four women all meet weekly for a few weeks as a study group.
Megan leads the group, with three other women. She encourages interaction within the group, but not beyond the group. She has led study groups before, but is having some issues of her own, which she is initially reluctant to share. They all grow closer; by working through their lessons each week. It is a well-written book, and I found myself laughing sometimes or crying, at other times. This is a good book, with great characters, and I recommend it!
Juliette Duncan has done it again. She’s written another book that touches your spirit while pulling you into the story. Four women are doing a discipleship class together. I loved reading the different character’s thoughts and reactions to each practice. It was a unique way to develop the characters. The story also gives us their lives outside of the class. There’s a budding romance for one of the women, and one is going through a spiritual desert that affects her relationships with her family.
I’m interested in learning more about the discipleship practices. I definitely plan on reading more of this author’s work and highly recommend When Love Abounds to readers of Christian fiction. I received a complimentary copy. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this well-written book.
I really liked this book. It was pretty unique. We followed four women, who all had things to work through in their own lives, as they went through spiritual disciplines. This was a great book about overcoming in Christ and a practical book with practices that we should all implement. It was great to see some characters from a previous book.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Juliette Duncan has written a wonderful story in “When Love Abounds.” This book is about four women, Megan, Melanie, Rachel, and Denise, each with their own personal issues. They bond during a Women’s Spiritual Formation Group which Megan leads. Through this group, and the steps involved each week, the women get a different perspective on life, on how God sees them and how he wants them to live. This book was life-changing for me and I’m sure it will be for everyone who reads it.
I received an ARC from the publisher. I was not paid for this review and the opinion expressed here is solely my own.
I really enjoyed reading this book! There is a lot of scripture read and studied in this book. A lot of different problems dealt with and solved. I highly recommend this book to everyone who likes romance and study of the bible.
This is a story that rings true to what can happen when people are too busy to invest in their marriage. Working to much and volunteering can overtake your relationship. A story of faith and renewing a marriage. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing
This story will hit home for so many in various struggles in their lives. Though we may have considered ourselves Christians and believers throughout our lives, there may come a time where circumstances can cause us to question our faith. This story tells of 4 women from varied backgrounds, heartaches and problems that come together in a study group and retreat. Through a walk of faith, they are all transformed with renewed beliefs and God’s reassurance. This is one of Juliette Duncan’s best! I was given an ARC to read, but my review is totally my own.
This was a great Christian romance. Good scriptural references. You go into 4 women’s lives and see their turmoil and their spiritual growth. I also loved the romance. This was a well rounded Christian romance. It got into the lives of 4 women. You had 2 of the women were married, one was pregnant with twins and struggling, the other was having problems with her marriage. The other 2 women were single with their own struggles. I liked how the married couples problems worked out and were realized that it wasn’t just them but also their husbands that had struggles. It was nice to see them all deepen their relationship with God and their problems sorted out. Worth the feel good read.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Absolutely beautiful. I loved this book. So good to catch up with characters from previous Coral Bay book and to get to know more of their stories. Although it would have been easily readable without reading the previous book. I loved the way in which the four characters stories are linked together. I also found this book to be an inspirational tool to help me to draw nearer to God. I will certainly be using the strategies in my own quiet times. Thank you for another wonderful book. Hoping there will be more from Coral Bay in the future. I received a free copy of this book but this has in no way influenced my review which is fair and honest.
Juliette Duncan’s book When Love Abound:
When Megan decides to have a woman’s group she never expected it to turn out the way it did. When Denise and Melanie moved to Coral Bay their lives changed. Watching how this group helps these women grow and heal is truly amazing. Juliette Duncan is a amazing inspirational author. You will feel God working throughout this wonderful book. I had the honor to review this book for a honest review. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could.
