Two lives, two losses, and one meeting that changed their lives forever. Learning to move on and love again isn’t always easy. The circle of life. It’s something we all know about but are never truly prepared for the unexpected. The unexpected that comes out of nowhere. No warning, no heads up, nothing. Just God giving us pure bliss and happiness and then taking it away in the blink of an eye. … an eye. When you think of people dying, you think of the old who have fully lived their lives. You don’t think about the younger people who have just begun to build their futures, nor do you think about the children that have just begun to live. It’s cruel and it’s unwanted. It leaves us devastated and to the point where we feel we can’t go on. It leaves a hole, an empty space in our hearts that stays with us until we heal. We all heal eventually, right? As the days go on and the years pass by, we never forget the ones we lost and we never forget the pain they left behind. But we do manage to feel somewhat normal again – maybe not completely – but we have no choice. For me, losing my husband to a massive heart attack on our one-year wedding anniversary, and at the age of twenty-seven, was something I didn’t think I could ever heal from. The emptiness, the loneliness, the numbness, and the need just to get through the day was overwhelming. My name is Paisley Logan and this is my story.
Life. Full of surprises, disappointments, and heartache. It’s strange how we live life with certainty. We’re certain that we’ll find the love of our life, get married, have children, and live happily ever after. No one is ever prepared when a life-threatening illness hits. We’re so busy living our daily lives that we don’t think about such things. I was naïve until my wife was diagnosed with cervical cancer and passed away less than a year later. I was angry. She was the love of my life and we’d only been married five years. We wanted to start a family, and it was when she had trouble getting pregnant that she was diagnosed. I’d never lost anyone before. I’d never experienced death. I felt like God was playing a cruel joke on me. How could he bring her into my life and then take her away so young. Even the best laid plans in life get altered. Mine did. Everyone kept telling me that time would heal all wounds, but this was a wound that would never fully be healed. Trying to get back to the normalcy of life was exhausting, so I didn’t try anymore. My name is Ben Preston and this is my story.

I had a great time and was captivated with each turn of the page this book is well written. The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline flowed smoothly from beginning to the end. When love is so great that you get help from beyond it truly is meant to be. This is One of those stories.

Beautiful
Paisley was a 27 year old widow, her husband was the same age. They met in college, fell in love and got married. In the morning of their one year anniversary he died of a heart attack. Ben was a widow and a fireman, his wife Amy died from cancer a year ago. They met the first time they went to a support group meeting. They were the youngest and connected. The rest you need to read.
Ben and Paisley’s story is touching and draws you in right from the beginning. They both know what it feels like to lose a loved one and finding yourself having to start Over. These two meet in a therapy group of all places but there was a connection between them. Has fate placed them in the same place for a reason and will this be the start of their healing and a journey that can lead to a second chance for a happily ever after for the two.

Ben & Paisley… even though these two meet at a meeting for lost loved ones. I can’t help but like that these two fit so well together and how they help one another to move on and enjoy life together. Such a sweet story!
It was a sweet romance, but I agree with the other reviewers that it lacked passion. It is a well-written book with a happily ever after. In addition to receiving an arc, I purchased the book for my collection.

She Writes Love by Sandi Lynn. Beautiful love story surrounding tragedy, heartbreak, loss, and the difficult process of moving on. I liked this heartfelt story, the budding connection between characters, and the banter between them was genuine and made you feel like you were part of the story as it unfolded. It is hard to imagine so much pain for ones so young. Paisley lost her husband after only a year married. He was only 27. Ben lost his wife of five years to cancer. Each is trying to cope with their grief. They meet at a support group and thus begins their journey forward into first friendship and then even more. This is beautiful, emotional story about a couple of people who find a kinship because of what they have been through and with the help of their families and the bravery to try again, find love again.

Very emotional story with Paisley who was widowed on her one year anniversary when her husband had a heart attack. Ben also lose his wife to cancer and they are both suffering with their grief. When they attend a grief support group they find the mutual loss and understanding. Well written book about the loss of a spouse and how empty and lose they fell trying to move through life with that partner but as they spend time together they grow closer. Can Paisley and Ben make a relationship with each other work?
This is the story of Paisley and Ben. They are both grieving the loss of their spouses and meet at a grief support group. They have a connection. I enjoyed their journey at finding love again. This one is very emotional and so well written. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I went into this book blind, so all I knew about this book was that it was a romance story. I am so happy I took a chance on this story and this new-to-me author. Sandi Lynn has created a hopeful and emotional romance about two people helping each other put their pieces back together. The heaviness of Ben and Paisley’s loss was broken up with light-hearted familial banter that had me laughing during the moments I wasn’t tearing up. Erin Mallon and Chris Chappell did an outstanding job bringing Sandi Lynn’s words to life in the audiobook version. They brought Ben and Paisley’s story to life and pulled me into their story. I definitely recommend one-clicking She Writes Love and adding on the audio narration, if you are an audiobook listener. You will fall in love with this story and these characters.
