A stolen identity leads a woman down a dark and desperate path in a gripping novel of psychological suspense by Wall Street Journal bestselling author Minka Kent.
After barely surviving a brutal attack, Brienne Dougray rarely leaves her house. Suffering from debilitating headaches and memory loss, she can rely only on her compassionate new tenant, Dr. Niall Emberlin, a welcome distraction from … welcome distraction from the discomfiting bubble that has become her existence.
But Brienne’s growing confidence in her new routine is shaken when she stumbles across unsettling evidence that someone else is living as…her. Same name. Same car. Same hair. Same clothes. She’s even friended her family on social media. To find out why, Brienne must leave the safety of her home to hunt a familiar stranger.
What she discovers is more disturbing than she could have ever imagined. With her fragile mind close to shattering, Brienne is prepared to do anything to reclaim her life. If it’s even hers to reclaim.

What a great psychological thriller! Could not put this book down. A riveting read!
Great read
This was a page turner, I couldn’t wait for each new chapter. I really enjoyed it!
Couldn’t put it down. Such suspense as to how it would end.
4/9/21 – A good thriller that has several twists and turns. The book kept me turning the page throughout trying to figure out what happened next. The second half of the book was especially intense with several plot twists and moments that made you gasp.
Riveting. I wasn’t a huge fan of the lead female, but only because I like strong female characters and she was a little eh to me. But in the end, this was a great distraction and a good read!
What. A. Ride.
Wow. I could NOT put this book down for the life of me! Part 1 captured my interested right from the first page. And then: a plot twist—followed by a second plot twist—that I did NOT see coming! Minka Kent sure knows how to take a reader by surprise. This incredibly well crafted and twisted thriller is an absolute must read!
This was the first book I read by this author, and I’m hooked. Have since read two more. Highly recommend!
A good read.
This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Kent has an addictive way about her words, it’s incredibly easy to get sucked into her storylines and I find myself unable to put them down, even when I really need to!
Definitely a page turner! Great read with lots of twists and turns! Highly recommend
I think that I’ve found my new favorite author 🙂
I loved, loved, loved this book! I was a little skeptical since it was the first book I’ve read from this author but I couldn’t put the book down. It had me gripped from the very first chapter and I just wanted to know what would happen next!
really enjoyed this book. it was quite creepy and thought provoking. Just how much Has social media and our high tech love affair opened us up to?
This was the first book I’ve read by Minka Kent, but it won’t be the last!
While this isn’t the most well-written psychological thriller I’ve ever read, it is the textbook definition of escapism – there are some great unexpected twists, a compelling narrative, and enough edge-of-your-seat chapter cliffhangers to keep you reading well into the night. A good read when you’re cooped up inside!
I love when I find an author so original I immediately purchase any other novel they’ve written. Kent writes original thriller plots you havent read yet!
Crazy good!
You just can’t believe your eyes! What a Wild and Spine Tingling story this is! Well worth the read!
In today’s world, identity theft is a common occurrence. Brienne Dougray is brutally attacked, left with a severe head injury leading to debilitating headaches and memory loss. She also lost her purse with all her identification. She has become mostly housebound.
She has a tenant renting her upstairs .. Dr. Niall Emberlin. They get along well and Brienne thinks of him more as a friend than renter.
(BOOK BLURB) Brienne is shaken when she stumbles across unsettling evidence that someone else is living as…her. Same name. Same car. Same hair. Same clothes. She’s even friended her family on social media. To find out why, Brienne must leave the safety of her home to hunt a familiar stranger.
What she discovers is bone shattering, but no one seems to believe her.
There are really no great surprises, but a few twists and turns kept me reading. For an intelligent woman. By the middle of the story, the ending is a no brainer and mostly unbelievable.
Many thanks to the author / Thomas & Mercer / Amazon Publishing / Netgalley for the digital copy of this psychological drama. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
I really enjoyed this book, I couldn’t figure out what was going on, which caused me to burn through it. I will definitely read more by this author!
