I cannot get through this series fast enough!! It is so, so good!! And Reed…..and Beth…..absolutely love them!!! I wasn’t expecting Reed to be such a dirty boy……and for Beth to be his equal match in enjoying a little kinkiness. I already want to go back and read their story because it was just that good.
Beth can’t believe it when she finds out she has Aunt she doesn’t hesitate to go there, she hasn’t had family in so long.
Reed was nice and so when she sees how he reacts to seeing the woman in the bar, knowing she hurt him, she kisses him, explaining to Reed that he needs to show her how happy he is now, it’s the best way to get back at her for hurting him, and they should attend her engagement party.
After the party, they couldn’t fight the attraction, only in the morning Reed wakes up and sees Beth and he can’t remember what happened last night. As he gets a glimpse of what happened he feels sick and when he comes out Beth is gone.
Beth goes to have lunch with the girls and they want to know what happened at the party because Reed isn’t telling them anything, she tells them what happened, and he regrets it.
After he upsets Beth, he tries to make it right telling her he wants to make them better, thinking everything was going fine until she lets him know CJ asked her out and she said yes.
Beth arrives home and no one is there, never liking to be alone, she calls Reed, she didn’t expect him to come over, and kisses him, he wants everything with her.
They both learn about each other’s pasts and why they don’t want a relationship, but they both want each other enough to try. Beth gets some news that has her excited but leaves Reed wondering if he will lose her when he only just got her, but will Reed not telling Beth what he’s feeling have her running back to her past thinking he doesn’t love her.
When I Fall…You and Me
I’m going through this series like an addict. Sleeping is not necessary, food can wait. Reading these books.. cannot wait. Especially when I was dying to find out who was the woman that made Reed fall. So worth it.
Reed refuses to open his feelings again. His ex made him feel weak, vulnerable. Can’t do that. Won’t be stringed along ever again. So he’s a one and done man. Don’t ask for double dipping. Make sure you’re out of his bed in the morning. That’s been his mode. No attachments. That is until Beth. She’s different.
I’m not going to describe Beth. All I’m going to say is that I loved her. She’s Reed other half in every way possible. I love their build up, their pairing, and their chemistry. Reed… his possessive side is subtle, but very present. Something that Beth needs.
One of the things I particularly love about this series, is how Ms. Daniels has interconnected all the characters. Their standalones, but she’s giving her readers a follow up of where the previous characters. They’re friends. They’re family and they are there for one another. This is what a series is about. Keeping all the characters active and alive without losing sight of the characters on deck.
Alabama Summer, you are favorite spring break read. Cannot wait to dive into the next books. Haven’t started this series? Do yourself a favor, jump on it.. now.
My favorite book from the Alabama series. Beth is such a cool and strong chick. Reed is sexy and a vulnerable man. These two together was perfection. Enjoyed the whole story.
Reed and Beth’s story is as intense and compelling as any book in this series. But it is definitely the most heartbreaking because of what the characters have been through in their lives.
It gutted me, broke me apart, and put me back together at the same time. I LOVED their emotional story. So much!
*5 Stars*
I adore this series. Reed and Beth were fantastic and I was hooked on their story. I really love this world and can’t wait to read more of this series. It’s that good. This can be read as a standalone, but its probably more fun to read them in order, which is what I’ve been doing.
I’ve probably left it too long to write my review of this, since I don’t know what to say other than I loved it and would recommend.
Love it.
Reed had his heart broken 9 years ago by his high school girlfriend and since then he has only been with women according to his rules no repeats, no kissing and kicks them out of his bed before dawn. I loved Reed in the other books in this series, he may be a womanizer but he would give his life for his friends and family. Beth has been alone and scared too long, she finally found family when she meets Reed. Beth comes to Reed’s rescue and is drawn to him. Fun Hot Sexy read great series.
Love this series. Wonderful Story Line. Highly Recommend
This book kept my interest, I wanted to find out what next. I loved the fall of the hero.. he begins as this foul mouth, arrogant, traumatized jerk. I loved watching his total and complete fall. It was great!!! Negative: over the top/unrealistic sex scenes. _( just skip over them).
AHHHHH!!!!!!!
I thought it couldn’t get any better than Benjamin Kelly, but Reed Tennyson has won my friggin heart. I mean holy hot damn is he not only sexy as hell, perfect body, can sing, but he is the biggest freak out of all the Bama Boys. He is officially Bama Boy #1.
Gosh this book was so sweet and perfect. Beth and Reed were the perfect characters and they matched each other amazingly. These two characters were made for each other. I loved every minute of this book. Reed, Reed, Reed. I just can’t say anything about this book other than the fact that the sex scenes were the filthiest and hottest scenes I may have had the privilege to read. There was no drama, just two people simply falling in love. Beth never holds anything back with her feelings for Reed and she embraces everything. Plus she was such a tomboy; she rocked t-shirts and Doc Martens all the time and I friggin loved it. For Reed to have had his heart ripped apart by his ex and to unknowingly fall hard for Beth was absolutely beautiful. I really loved this book.
“My expectations of love are dangerously unrealistic.” ~ Beth Davis from McGill’s
Yours and mine both Beth, yours and mine both…thanks J. Daniels!
5 #dickmeupReed Stars!!!
Ben from the first book in the Alabama Summer series, Where I Belong, will always have my heart, but Reed, oh Reed…that dirty, dirty boy.
I always enjoyed Reed in the previous 2 books in this series, he was an intriguing character that needed his story told…and what a story it is! Some of the things we discover about Reed are so unexpected, I fell more and more in love with him as the book went along.
“I’m a smart guy when I’m thinking with my dick, but when I allow the weakest part of me to get involved, I’m the dumbest motherfucker on the planet.” And that right there tells you all you need to know about Reed! He’s the loveable manwhore who will not allow emotions to enter into the equation when it comes to women. He was burned once in his life and he’s not going to let it happen again. But then Beth happens…
Beth is new to town and rocks Reed’s world the minute her lips touch his. She’s strong and resilient, having been through a lot in her 22 years. She throws Reed for a loop and makes him rethink everything he thought he wanted, or didn’t want, with/in a woman.
Beth is equal parts spunky and vulnerable. Reed is a filthy mouthed, sweet southern boy. These 2 are a perfect compliment to each other. What a journey this book takes us on, as both Beth and Reed come to learn things about not only each other, but about themselves.
This book, like the other 2, made me laugh and it made me cry- maybe even more than the others. I loved that the rest of the gang plays such important parts in each book- I love this family of friends!
