“Despite the serious topic of this book, it is a delight to read. Thompson tackles the natural desire to resist God’s calling with such energy that the book is hard to put down.” -Elizabeth Wisz, Christian Market “Reading like a moving sermon, Thompson’s book of biblical lessons will appeal to Christians looking for spiritual encouragement.” -Publisher’s Weekly Go. One small word. . .so much … One small word. . .so much power.
When God says, “Go,” we face one of life’s greatest decisions.
When God says, “Go,” we must face our fears. . .our excuses. . .and our selves.
When God says, “Go,” it’s time to answer His call wherever it leads.
When God says, “Go,” what will you do?
Author Elizabeth Laing Thompson invites you to walk alongside people of the Bible who were called by God to fulfill His purposes. . .people like Moses, Esther, Abigail, Jeremiah, Mary, and others. These Bible heroes responded much like we do–with a jumbled-up inner storm of excitement and fear, insecurity and hope. Their stories and struggles will provide a roadmap for your own story, helping you face your very own doubts, regrets, and worries.
When God calls, it’s time to go. Maybe somewhere new, someplace you’ve never been. Maybe it’s time to go forward after being stuck with one foot in the past. Maybe it’s time to go deeper–in Bible study or relationships. Time to go higher–in prayer or dreams. Time to go and give–to use talents and opportunities God has given you. Or maybe it’s time to go and grow, right where you are. . .to dig into the Word, dive into your heart, and become the woman God is calling you to be.
Ready or not, God is calling us all to go somewhere new in our walk with Him. So what are we waiting for? Let’s answer His call. Let’s get started!

Haunting normally doesnt describe this type of book perhaps but it just stopped me in my tracks. Over and over I was reminded of occasions when “go” screamed” loudly in my head….and it wasn’t where I wanted to be or where I went.
Loved this book. Timing is everything we’re told a million times. Maybe this was just the perfect time. But God did say “GO”…….I can COMFORTABLY hear and FEEL HIS ARM AROUND ME.
Sometimes the going gets tough and a read makes the difference. I’M GRATEFUL!!!!
Reading any word of God is a little scary if you haven’t read his book the bible, this book will show you a new direction.
Oh, my goodness. Based on the two books I’ve read by Elizabeth Laing Thompson, I think we’d be great friends. Similar to “When God Says Wait”, each chapter within this book starts with a fictional look at a familiar Bible story. Then Elizabeth digs in with tenderness, care, and great truth. She doesn’t shy away from either the hard stuff or the time she chose poorly, but she also faithfully offers hope and encouragement. She also opens doors I hadn’t considered on what it means to “Go”, broadening the concept while challenging readers to obey.
This is written by a woman that is all too human, and it makes it much easier to relate. Many religious books are things you have to wade through, but this was easy to read and understand, and it inspires you to take the next step in your religious growth.
New ideas for Bible study
Good read
Loved it!!!
Thought provoking
Elizabeth brings the scriptures to life, creatively filling in the gaps of the Bible characters’ stories to bring their lessons to life, and guide me in connecting with what God is leading me to understand. This book came at just the point in my life when I needed to grasp God’s message to “Go”!
Great book!
Very inspiring
Haven’t finished it as of this time.
This is the second book by this author that I have purchased. Elizabeth has a writing style that brings familiar bible stories to life. She uses these stories, along with her personal experiences, to draw out biblical truths that apply to us today. I have had many “ah ha” moments throughout the book. It is an easy read and great for personal use or group study. At the end of every chapter is a “Let’s Go Deeper” section which includes passages for further study, journal questions to ponder and a prayer prompt. These are very helpful tools to apply what you have read to your own life and take your relationship with God deeper. If you happen to be in a period of waiting in your life, I also recommend Elizabeth’s other book, “When God Says Wait”. Both are worth the read and filled with nuggets of wisdom and encouragement for your walk with God.
Inspirationa lbook about listening for God and responding when he says go.
It was hard to follow.
I chose to read “When God Says Go” at a perfect time in my life. I had joined a new venture for me, helping people in my community. It was becoming challenging, and I needed encouragement. This book is exactly what I needed, along with the support of my dear husband and friends at my church. Thank you, Elizabeth Laing Thompson!

sweet, but a little to flowery, and to often with the interpretation of situations. Good points but had to work to hard to find them
