When Gargoyles Breakthrough :
(Book 6 Shades and Shadows Series) :

Well That’s One Day Of My Life I Can’t Get Back!!!
What An Utter Waste Of My Time, Money & The Costs Involved Writing, Editing (if it was even done) Paying Her Sister for the Stunning Cover Artwork (which is phenomenal), The Publishing And Promoting This Book.
At least Ms Harris is paid for ever page I or another reads in Kindle Unlimited.
Well what can I say about this book that’s positive? The artwork is absolutely stunning and phenomenal, some of the characters are loveable, some likeable and some I love to hate.
Which is great because it brings out the emotions in you.
The storylines could be increbible if a little more effort was put in.
There are many paragraphs was sentences that’s sound like them back to front and don’t want make sense.
There are way too many repeated overused phrases such as “Rose made a fist”, “Felix made a fist”, “Adamus made a fist”, actually everyone makes a fist!!!
I find this bizarre as not everyone has the same reactions 100% of the time.
And there are several words that are mistakes almost every time they are written like the word ‘but’ and no comma in front of it.
For a start there are only 9 chapters and
169 pages. Though there’s nothing wrong in a small novella (yes, its annoying to most readers, as we love to read & want big stories), but most of these chapters are repeats and mostly repeats I just read yesterday in ‘When Gargoyles Ascend’ (the last book in the series) or from earlier books (which I’ve just been binge reading on for the past 6 days).
I can only recall 2 or 3 chapters out of the 9, that I believe were new writing!
I despise putting down an authors work, but this author has turned this book into a joke!
I’m so glad I read this during my free Kindle Unlimited trial, because If I’d purchased this, I’d be asking for my money back, and it’s still Chock-a-Block full of spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes which were the same in the previous books. It’s like Ms Harris copied & pasted the chapters from previous books which is understandable, but why
on Earth would you not run them through a spell checker, if you can’t afford to use an editor, or use your fans as Beta Readers & then again as ARC Readers & then fix the legions of errors, before releasing it to the general public for purchase.
There are so many comments in the reviews about chronic mistakes which brings down the ratings.
Darn you Ms Harris for forcing me to write such an atrocious review.
I feel terrible putting down someone’s hard work, something they have spent such time and dedication on.
An author’s book is akin to a child!
I have never written such negative reviews before, apart from this series & this author.
Less than 2-3 chapters were actually new writing. And yes the end was exciting, but chapter 9 was only 8 pages long, with only 3 pages really peaking my intrest.
I also own the Troll Series, but I’m not sure if I want to read it.
Perhaps I should read the reviews first incase they are anything like this series, because I couldn’t handle reading a second series like this.
I’m now debating whether to bother finishing the series at all.
I do want to know what will happen, but I bet it’s what I wrote in an earlier review.
I think it’s predictable, but hope I am 100% wrong!
In my 46 years of reading and writing,
I have only ever left 1 book partially unread. It was that bad!
And no series uncompleted, but I’m so torn here.
There are so many amazing authors out there who write incredible books that are mistake free & keep you on the edge of your seat turning pages just as fast as you can read them, who return fans letters & spend hours on end editing & communicating through social media with their fan base.
I wonder why I bothered documenting all the hundreds of errors for this author who bounced my emails back to me.
Most authors care so much about their work they would never allow their work to be published with so many mistakes in it and then to leave it sitting on the shelf since 2017 without updating & correcting it.
In my opinion means Ashley C.Harris either does not care about her own work or does not care about her fanbase.
Why would an author write a book that is mainly repetitive of pretty much the last book and every other book with a few extra scenes thrown in?
I had finally begun to see this authors work growing, but now I think maybe that was just a fluke.
I found this book so annoyingly repetitive, I wanted to keep skipping whole chapters as I’d read them before.
The 1 great positive of this story the look on Felix’s face when he realised…
Here A Spawn, There A Spawn Everywhere A Spawn, Spawn!
I RATE THIS BOOK 1 OUT OF 5
1 for the new characters & for the few chapters that weren’t repetitive from earlier editions.
I definitely would not recommend this book unless its FREE, however it does have some information in it that’s helpful to the story, but not crutial, well certainly not so far.
I borrowed a copy of this book from Kindle Unlimited and this is my fair, honest and impartial review as always.
