When Fall Breaks by: Julie Solano, and Tracy Justice was my first read of summer break. I fell in love with this book, and the real life feeling story. The Characters made me want to go back to high school again. I cant wait to read the next book. I give this book 5 stars easily. I will absolutely continue to read books by these authors.
When Fall Breaks is the first book in the Seasons of Jefferson Series by authors Julie Solano and Tracy Justice.
It’s a young adult, romance, best friends sister storyline that follows a group of teenagers in their senior year of high school.
Kaitlyn Woodley, her twin Caden and their best friend Brody Tatum have grown up together. The two boys have always looked out for Kaitlyn, protected her, that’s what friends do. But in senior year things change. Kaitlyn and Brody’s friendship changes. They both find themselves thinking about the other in different ways, both jealous of the attention they get from others.
Will they stay friends? Or will they venture into a relationship? What will Caden think about his sister and best friend?
I loved this story and I’m happy that it’s the first of a series, as I get to read more from these characters. This part does end in a cliff hanger, so I’ll be jumping into part two very soon to see where the story goes from here.
When Fall Breaks by Julie Solano and Tracy Justice is the first book in the Seasons of Jefferson Series. A great example of a YA novel the combination of these two authors simply works.
Kaitlyn has everything set up for a perfect life – great with music, great at swimming and great at studying. And then she meets Pistol, the rodeo cowboy. He crashes into her life turning everything upside down.
It doesn’t take long before her friends start to show concern. But when her best friend Brody steps in things only get worse. With emotions running high and feelings showing up all over it is anyone’s guess as to what might happen.
This was a great example of a YA novel. One of my favourite genres anyway these two authors really made this book work. The writing was effortless and I found it hard to tell any difference from one person to the next. The characters were interesting and great to read about. The story was engaging and kept me reading more. Overall I enjoyed this book and will look more into both of these authors for sure.
When Fall Breaks is the first book in the Season of Jefferson Series by Julie Solano and Tracy Justice (JT Authors). The story is written for teens and young adults, but I am almost 50 years old and enjoyed it as well. We meet Kaitlyn, a strong willed girl, that was until she met Pistol. Kaitlyn, believes she is in love with Pistol. Then you have her best friend Brody, who is like a brother but the type of guy who really is right for her. Pistol is jealous of her relationship with Brody, and makes Kaitlyn feel bad about her relationship with him. What will Kaitlyn do when her life starts to fall apart?
When Fall Breaks is a well written and engaging young adult novel that I could not put down. It grabs a hold of you and you keep turning the pages to see what is going to happen next with the characters. Who were well developed and completely believable. The book takes on the tough topic of domestic violence. But the authors due a very good job on being proactive when dealing with domestic violence. I cannot wait to read the second book in the series, The Dead of Winter.
When Fall Breaks is book one in the Seasons of Jefferson Series written by Julie Solano and Tracy Justice. I was blown away by this story. From beginning to end, I absolutely could not put it down, even when I tried. Kaitlyn is a typical, driven, high school girl living and loving her country lifestyle. Raised in the same community her whole life, and having known everyone she knows her whole life, Kaitlyn is oblivious to the danger she is in when she starts liking her boyfriend Pistol less, and her best friend Brody a little more. Everyone around her can sense that something is wrong, but she tries to keep it a secret from all the people she is closest to until its too late. This story had me on a roller coaster ride. I was laughing, and then i was on the edge of my seat with anticipation, and then I was plummeting into a dark place, and then i was laughing again, and then axious, and so on! Both of the authors that collaborated to write this spectacular story suitable for young adults and adults alike, are new to me. I had no idea what to expect when I opened this book. Be warned, there are some very unsettling scenes of language and violence, but at the same time its such a HUGE eye opener. I find myself more aware of some of the situations teenagers may find themselves in, and I have this book to thank for that. The writing itself was also fantastic. After reading this I most definitely want to visit Jefferson, North Carolina! 5 stars from me and I cant wait to buy book 2 and 3!
Holy mother of whyyyyyy! I cannot believe that was how the story ended. When Fall Breaks is book one in Seasons of Jefferson by JT Authors. I have to say I was a little skeptical at first when I read the characters were in high school. But that didn’t stop the authors from giving them completely relatable characteristics to any age. I enjoyed the story line although it had some rough parts that could make it difficult for some people/teens to read. It would take away from the plot a little, but a warning could help even though there was acknowledgement at the end. Regardless, it is a relatively clean story as far as vulgarity goes. I liked the characters and absolutely loved Brody and Kaitlyn. I am excited to continue with the seasons because that ending made me NEED so much more!
When Fall Breaks (Seasons of Jefferson Book 1)

5 out of 5 stars
The story When Fall Breaks (Seasons of Jefferson Book 1) by JT Authors, Julie Solano and Tracy Justice is a YA/suspense/romance book. I truly enjoyed reading this book. It is a story that I got lost in and didn’t want to put down until I had read the final page. I found myself thinking back to when I was in high school and all the drama that I went through. Conflicting emotions and new feelings are a part of life as a teenager and this book does a good job of writing and making you feel what the characters are going through. Many of the characters that you read about are friends and also family. It is wonderful how they stand up for and support each other. You read about how they cope with day to day life and other special events of the year. Then there are those who cause problems and trouble. My emotions went up and down throughout the story. There were times when I would get angry at situations that happened, other times I was laughing at the bantering that goes back and forth. I especially loved the characters of Kaitlyn and Brody. The friendship between them runs deep and one that I enjoyed reading about. Tough situations are also described and are dealt with sensitivity. This is the first book in a series and I look forward to reading the next one.
I love coming across good books, books that I can immerse myself into and get lost. And this is exactly what I found when I read When Fall Breaks by Julie Solano and Tracy Justice.
We come across Kaitlyn Woodley, a small town country girl, who is learning her way through life. What we get out of her and her journey, is nothing less of suspenseful and amazing. I loved getting lost in her life, and the world that these authors created.
I love being able to get lost and trying to find out what is to become of the characters, and the way in which they were written. I have to give these author props for being able to develop something good, and being able to build more out of it. I can’t wait to come back into this small town and see what is to become of the characters. I would definitely consider this a 5 Star Book.
When Fall Breaks is a contemporary YA by JT authors (Julie Salano and Tracy Justice) and the first book in the Seasons of Jefferson series (cliff-hanger warning). It’s senior year for Kaitlyn and she should have everything going for her, she has her music and swimming and her boyfriend Pistol. Everything isn’t as perfect as it seems and as Pistol starts showing his true colors, Kaitlyn’s twin brother and his best friend Brody start to see warning signs. Brody has had feelings for Kaitlyn since freshman year but has kept them a secret but maybe now he can finally win her over. I enjoyed this story, it was well written, had great characters and Brody is a swoon worthy book boyfriend. This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions and dealt with teen issues in a realistic and believable way. This was my first book by these authors but I will for sure check out other titles and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
When Fall Breaks ( Seasons of Jefferson Book 1) by Julie Solano Tracy Justice,
I am a fan of YA books, but this one was so much more than that. I absolutely loved reading this story even if the end sent me over the edge into an emotional meltdown. Which was awesome!! I fell in love with the characters and their loyalty to each other especially Kaitlyn, her twin and their best friend Brody. There Are other noteworthy characters as well, such as, Pistol. I think this book touched on some pretty important subjects and the authors did an amazing job introducing those touchy subjects. High school is hard enough and then adding all of the extra drama and other things that teenagers seem to do is a lot to handle. The decisions that are made can change peoples lives especially her own, so kat has definitely got some hard decisions to make. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this story, it is very relatable and you can’t help but get in invested in their lives. There was also a lot of funny banter to balance out the emotions. I cannot wait to read the second book, I need to know what happens next, especially since this one left my in an omg moment. Good job on that authors!! I highly recommend this book, not just for YA, but for everyone
Ticket for one on the emotional roller coaster! When Fall Breaks follows Kaitlyn and Brody through a childhood friendship into feelings changing into something more. The book deals with topics that affect all of our teens today. Story is realistic, very well written. Characters you will love and some that you will just want to throat punch! This is one YA story that will not disappoint.
When Fall Breaks (Seasons of Jefferson Book 1) By JT Authors is an amazingly written young adult story. While I’m use to the adult romance book world this book grabbed my attention right from the get go. Making me laugh and cry at times. This book deals with real life issues that the youth today has to deal with. It felt real and complex. The bonds that are shared in this story are inspiring and make you maybe reminisce on the days gone by. I’m a huge fan of the issues addressed in the story because it’s not a fairytale it’s more real. Each character is a breath of fresh air with their complex problems and ways they handle them. This is a bit on the darker side some might say but I truly love this story and can’t wait to read more! I’m giving this a five star read and look forward to seeing where we the readers are taken next!
When Fall Breaks by Julie Solano and Tracy Justice is book one of the Seasons of Jefferson series. This book is a young adult book and was absolutely amazing. I couldn’t read it fast enough.
Kaitlyn is determined to make her senior year count. She is so sure her new relationship with Pistol will help her do that. Instead, her life is slowly unraveling and she’s not sure of anything. About the only thing she is sure of, is her friendship with Brody and even that’s in an odd place right now. Brody and Kaitlyn’s twin brother vow to protect her but do they even know what they are dealing with?
When I started reading this book, I didn’t really know what to expect but I can tell you if I had any expectations at all, they were wildly surpassed. There were twists in this book and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I couldn’t put it down! I think everyone should read this book!!

Throughout this story my emotions were all over the place one minute i was laughing the next I’m feeling nothing but sadness and heartbreak. The novel is beautifully ,captivating and well written with awesome character’s. The novel does end with a cliffhanger and i can’t wait to sink my teeth into the next book. When Fall Breaks was a great 5 star read.
Kaitlyn is in her senior year of high school. She is dating Pistol Black a hot popular cowboy, but there is another boy that she can’t get her mind off of, her best friend Brody.
Brody has had feelings for Kaitlyn for years. He has promised her brother that he will not act on them, however it is getting harder and harder to resist her.
When Kaitlyn’s boyfriend starts to get possessive and abusive, things take a serious turn. He is jealous of her friendship with Brody and he wants more from her than she is willing to give. Brody steps in to be there for Kaitlyn and protect her along with her brother Caden.
Can they keep Pistol away and Kaitlyn safe? Will Brody be able to keep his feelings to himself?
I really liked this story. It made me feel like a teenager again. The secondary characters added a great element to the story. There is a serious topic of abuse in a teenage relationship and how the victim is made to feel like it’s their fault. I thought it was handled quite well. I really liked Kaitlyn and Brody, they were perfect for each other. If your looking for a great YA read, 1-click and get started today.
When Fall Breaks (Seasons of Jefferson, #1) by Julie Solano was an unexpected amazing read. I have never read anything by this author, I have found another new to me author to read.
Kaitlyn is entering her senior year, without a care in the world. She’s got two best friends, a great twin brother, on the swim team, and a hot boyfriend. What she didn’t know was her world was about to change.
She’s always had a little crush on her twin brother’s best friend Brody and apparently the feeling is mutual. They both are trying to block out their attraction to each other. Kaitlyn’s boyfriend Pistol, becomes more and more possessive and it results in the beginning of physical abuse. He’s already got the mental abuse down to a science. Trying not to worry her friends and family she hides it, until one fateful night.
This story had me on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I loved how the characters were so relate able and coming from a small country town, I could relate to some of the things the teenagers did for fun. The secondary characters added to the story line, plus they were going through their own stuff. Will Kaityln and Brody finally be a couple? Will Pistol be held accountable for his actions? Will Caden and Brody find him before the police, I sure hope so. I can’t wait to read the second book in this series.
When Fall Breaks (Seasons of Jefferson #1)
By Julie Solano and Tracy Justice
5 stars
Awww I really loved this story! Amongst all the hot and steamy books that I read I just love reading YA books and this was a perfect example of one. Yes it may have been you typical YA story but I cannot fault the beautiful writing from the authors, it was so seamless and flowed beautifully. The characters were wonderful; I really loved both Kaitlyn and Brody. It was so obvious that they had this intense attraction between them but also worried about crossing that line of friendship. Not only is there Kaitlyn and Brody but Pistol! He added another dimension to this story that I thought the authors did a great job with. There were some really good twists in the story too and I really felt sorry for Kaitlyn and she genuinely was a lovely person.
I love how the two authors wrote this story together; it feels like just one author that’s how well it flows. I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait to read the next books in the series!!
When Fall Breaks (Seasons of Jefferson Book 1) by Julie Solano and Tracy Justice is the first book in their Seasons of Jefferson series. This is my first book by these two authors and I enjoyed it. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. This is a Young Adult book that will keep you engaged until the end. It is easy flowing and made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. Their characters are connectable and relatable. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of various emotions including compassion. They also took me on a journey of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and kept me reading. Kaitlyn is a high school senior who is talented, determined and has a future in swimming. Her dreams are right there within her reach until she gets messed up with him. Everyone wants to be with him but he has managed to turn her world upside down. What she doesn’t see and what everyone else does see is the warning signs. What will happen when the best friend steps in to protect her? These are enjoyable characters that seem like typical teenagers. There are confusing feelings which is pretty normal but add another boy to the mix, makes it more confusing. She has some choices to make, either she stays and fights or she keep the peace. These two authors did a good job of depicting teenagers and what they go through. I highly recommend this book. Find out what Kaitlyn will do and how life will change.
