This was a very quick read. Less than 2 hours snd it’s a definite page turner. Very sweet read about best friends faking a relationship for work and falling in love. Loved it.
JP Sayle’s has done it again! This is such a wonderful book, well written and fast reading you can’t help but eat it up! Jamie was in trouble, no matter what he did he couldn’t convince his boss Brent he just wasn’t interested in him. His best friend Todd was coming for vacation and Jamie had to go to an event for work and after turning down Brent explaining he would be bringing his boyfriend. After explaining why he needed Todd to be his fake boyfriend and he couldn’t help hoping maybe they could be somehow end up being boyfriends for real.
When Fake Changed Everything by author JP Sayle is a fun fast-paced romance. This book is written in dual POV which works great for this story. Getting into the head of both characters I felt was really necessary for this story to work.
Jamie, he accepts who he is without boundaries. He does struggle to stand up for himself with his handsy boss. He tells his boss he has a boyfriend to ward off yet another attempt by his boss to get him to go out with him. Now his boss is demanding to meet his boyfriend. Jamie likes to wear high heels and dress up.
Todd has been Jamie’s best friend for a long time. He is a big burly manly man. He is the kindest person Jamie has ever met. He has protected Jamie in the past from bullies.
Jamie asks Todd to bail him out by being his pretend boyfriend. The only problem is Todd wants to be his real boyfriend. Can these two works it out before Todd leaves town again?
I loved these two they are adorably cute together. Todd is the perfect person for Jamie, someone strong, bold, and steadfast. He grounds Jamie in the ways he needs. Todd also loves to have Jamie be himself.
This is the kind of love story to pick up when you want to believe that true love can save the day.
Five Shooting Stars
I love me a fake to real boyfriends story, and Todd and Jamie’s was no different, also the height and size diffence and just the personality difference always gets me.
the story was short but sweet, and well written, even though it was short the characters were well developed and fleshed out, and hook you in from the moment you start reading. I just loved Todd and how he wouldnt stand for Jamie putting himself down or trying changed how he dressed for Todd, that Todd loved him how he was and wanted to show that off
This short story was a surprise. I know that usually shorts have plots easy to read and inconsequential and this one in the surface has a sweet plot about BFF to lovers. It is interesting to discover how Jamie and Todd first met and how they became too important for each other as friends that they almost loose the opportunity for true love. However don’t let all this sweetness fool you. The underlying topic in this knight-in-shining-armor adventure is more profound and the author manage the sexual harassment scenes in a wonderful way. You can feel Jamie’s fear, shame and frustration for a situation that was completely outside his control. Even in this few pages you learned how bad is this issue in one person’s life. Wonderful reading!!! I’m looking forward to read more about this author in the future.
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
4-1/2 Stars!! I do so enjoy a good fake-boyfriends story from time to time and this one hit the spot for me. I loved Todd and Jamie’s history, being friends since high school that continued long after. Their connection was fantastic. This is also a great opposites attract, which also hit the spot for me. Heels, makeup, and a good spanking all add up to make for a great short read. This story was so good on so many levels and I do highly recommend giving it a try.
