This book was very convicting for me. Being that I’m on my own weight loss journey, it really made re-evaluated my source of motivation and I’m beginning to focus on what makes me happy as well as what makes me feel good. I highly recommend it!
Skinny Me is about a fat girl who decides to lose the weight after her mother dies of a heart attack. She becomes absolutely obsessed with losing weight, oh yeah, and her first cousin’s fiance.
Jennifer is a self-absorbed whiner. She blames everyone for her life and her weight. She blames her mother for “letting” her get fat, although her mother tried for years to help her lose weight. Jennifer takes no responsibility for her condition. She got on my last nerve. As she lost weight she became even more annoying. She tells all her friends that if they really try, they can be skinny like her. When she hits her perfect weight, everything will be wonderful. She will get the man of her dreams, and everyone will envy her. She will get married to Mr. Perfect, have two kids, and live happily ever after. Evidently, her weight was the least of her problems. She needs a head check.
