Messy and real.
Beautiful and harsh.

Not particularly well written
Main character finds out that skinny is not everything it’s cracked up to be!
I really believe this had potiential to be really inspiring. But I couldn’t get past the language used. That’s a personal preference of course.
Didn’t really care for this one. The main character was not a nice person. Left me with a really bad feeling. She was willing to torpedo her relationship with the cousin, who adored her, stuck up for her and included her in functions, by trying to steal her boyfriend (and later fiancé). Just a heap of depressing emo. Not for me. Maybe others would describe it as “gritty” and “raw”. Me, I get enough of that in real life. I favor people who are loyal and faithful.
Didn’t finish it. I was thinking it would have been on the upbeat side.
Good book!
A well thought-out love story with multiple topics of interest underlying the complex relationships; topped off with enough drama that keeps one’s interest.
Easy read!
I was captivated by this book and continued to read all of the books currently available in this series. Phenomenal is the least I would say! I will recommend to all friends and family! Ms. Carr, “more!, more! Please!!!!! “
The ending was abrupt.
Very relatable and honest.
As someone who has battled with my weight my entire adult life this story resonated deeply with me. I identified strongly with the character and was engrossed in her struggle.
I liked the characters. The main character is a woman who goes on a journey of self improvement and self discovery after her Mom dies. She learns that losing excess weight doesn’t lead to happiness. That happiness is a choice.
I thought that “Skinny Me” was written from the heart of one who had lived in the prison of food addiction and obsession with all its physical and social pains which sabatoge life and distort ones thinking. Her victory over her demons was inspiring.
The situation was well developed and true to life. Her characters were well developed. I look forward to more from this author.
The heroine was real, flawed and true to life and I appreciated that. The writing was very well done. I will definitely read more from this author
I could not even get through a fourth of this book. As a plus sized woman, I was insulted by the simplistic view of how this woman thought of food. The beginning of this book was filled with such negativity it was nauseating. I have a happy fulfilled life even though I have carried excess weight for 35 years. This woman could barely get out of bed unless it was to have another twinky. I deleted the book as it did not seem to be getting any better.
Good tale of a girl who thought she could change her life just by changing her appearance. She learned that just losing weight could not make her happy, and it is a gripping tale of a girl who changes her life for the better.
It was ok
Having recently lost 50 pounds I can appreciate this novel. I think it was very realistic and that is its great appeal. The author’s insights were spot on. Refreshing!
