Join Robyn Carr, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Virgin River and Thunder Point series, as she explores the healing powers of rural Colorado in a brand-new story of fresh starts, budding relationships and one woman’s journey to finding the happiness she’s long been missing
Between the urban bustle of Denver and the high-stress environment of a career in neurosurgery, Maggie Sullivan … neurosurgery, Maggie Sullivan has hit a wall. When an emergency high-risk procedure results in the death of a teenager, Maggie finds herself in the middle of a lawsuit–and experiencing levels of anxiety she’s never faced before. She knows she needs to slow down before she burns out completely, and the best place she can think to do that is Sullivan’s Crossing.
Named for Maggie’s great-grandfather, the land and charming general store at the crossroads of the Colorado and the Continental Divide Trails have been passed down through the generations and now belong to Maggie’s eccentric father, Sully. When she shows up unannounced, he welcomes her with open arms, and she relishes the opportunity to indulge in his simple way of life.
But shortly after arriving, Maggie’s world is rocked once again and she must take on more responsibility than she’d planned. Though she’s relieved a quiet and serious-looking hiker, Cal Jones, is willing to lend a hand, Maggie is suspicious of this mysterious man’s eagerness to help–until she finds out the true reason for his deliberate isolation.
Though Cal and Maggie each struggle with loss and loneliness, the time they spend together gives Maggie hope for something brighter just on the horizon…if only they can learn to find peace and healing–and perhaps love–with each other.

I liked this book because it has romance, struggling relationship between father and daughter. Sometimes, i put myself in Maggie’s situation. I love this author, and I strongly recommend you to read this book.
I just loved Cal and Maggie. Each of them were at a crossroad, in they’re life; but they seemed to gravitate towards each other. I liked that they respected the other’s feelings and privacy. And they shared a about themselves, as the story went on.
I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Fabulous start to the series. Wonderful characters and character development. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was terrific.
A great beginning to another wonderful series. Carr has a unique way of capturing the reader’s heart and not letting go until she’s wrung the last bit of emotion from it. Strap yourself in and go ahead and buy all of the Sullivan’s Crossing books because you won’t want to wait for the next one to arrive.
I love finding a new series where I can immerse myself in setting and characters. Sullivan’s Crossing is delightful…..and What We Find was a wonderful way to spend some reading hours. I’ve already started the next story.
I loved this book. I’ve never read a Robyn Carr book that I didn’t love!
Audiobook: Narrator – Therese Plummer
I started listening to this narrator with The Virgin River Series and fell absolutely in love with her! This is pretty much a duplicate performance of that series but still pure perfection when it comes to bringing these characters to life.
While I enjoyed this book, I think I may be a bigger fan of Virgin River. I’m still committed to that series and really should have held off on listening to this one until I had completed VR. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this one very much although it felt a bit like VR. The fact of the matter is, you can’t beat a great story and a wonderful narration even if you’ve heard/read it before.
Robyn Carr at her best! I love how she creates strong women characters in her stories who aren’t afraid to grow and experience new adventures in life. Maggie Sullivan is a neurosurgeon who’s career is at risk because of a lawsuit against her. Her life is taking a major turn so she decides to take a trip home to Sullivan’s Crossing where she grew up. She is not home long with her dad when he suffers an attack. She must now support her recovering father and his business.
Along comes a camper named Cal Jones, willing to help her in a time of need. Turned out there’s a lot more to Cal than what the reader expects.
This is an awesome book and I highly recommend the audible version. I listened to the audible book and loved it!
I’ve yet to read a Robyn Carr book that I haven’t fallen in love with! I was on vacation and had borrowed this and am so glad I did. Cannot wait for the next in the series!
What a delightful small town book! I grew up in a small town so I could relate to this story and the small town vibe. I wasn’t expecting the twist so that was an added bonus to the story. This book is a great beginning to a new series that I cannot wait to read! Be sure to grab this book for your next vacation!
It is difficult to choose a favorite of Robyn Carr’s. Every book she writes is fantastic. Her Virgin River books are with out a doubt the best series written. The Sullivan Crossing books are just as good. I really miss the Virgin River books though. I have read them so many times I practically have them memorized.
This book has been sitting on my bookshelf since it was published and I finally read it this weekend. The reason I love Robyn Carr’s stories is because there is SO much to them and in them. There are so many layers to her stories, all of it pertinent to the book. I truly get lost when I read her books.
Since it has been so long, I won’t recap the story but let me just say that Maggie Sullivan’s world comes crashing down…and her foundations (in her own humble opinion) were a bit shaky to start with. She goes “back home” to stay with her father for a bit and life gets interesting! Enter Cal Jones (his name is a story in itself), who also has had his world crash around him…yet when these two meet, let’s call it confusing sparks happen.
What a fun, touching, crazy cast of characters surround these two. As I said above, there is a lot going on but it all works and weaves itself together thru out the story. All Ms. Carr’s series create a world where I wanna live; Sullivan’s Crossing is no different. Well, I could do without ever running into the bull… Read it, enjoy it, and you will see what I mean.
This is the first book I have read from this author. It was pretty good, the romance was a little predictable but I enjoyed it.
