Just five months ago, Valentine O’Dell started working at a very special kind of club – one where you can dance the night away, or live out your greatest fantasy. She’s learned to lose herself to her nights, forgetting all her day time woes as she charms every man she meets. It’s easy enough to do when she doesn’t let her feelings get involved. Then Ari Sharapov walked in and changed everything.… everything.
Working for his father’s law firm has left Ari with very little control over his life, so when he meets Valentine for the first time, he sees a girl who is desperate for someone to take care of her. To take over her. So what he can’t get for himself in the day time, he’ll simply take for himself at night. But when power struggles lead to real feelings, who’s actually controlling whom?
Some relationships are better left in the dark.

OMG…this guy was such a twatwaffle. The type of asshole you want to nibble on his ear while stabbing him in the dick repeatedly. (lol) So I liked this one. It reminded me a lot of a certain 90s movie. Which was fine beings as it is a favorite movie of mine. The writing was fantastic. It was fairly long, but paced well. The plot was intriguing (I want to work at Caché!!). The sex was plentiful and hot. There is some OW drama in the form of Ari’s ex girlfriend. Usually I am not a fan of crazy exes, but it didn’t bother me overly much here. I found her crazy (and how Ari handles her) more amusing than annoying. However, I hope she just remains a nuisance in the next book and not something more.
There was a well-rounded cast of intriguing secondary characters (I adore Del). Ari…well Ari is a bit of an acquired taste. The guy was just an entitled asshole most of the time. However, there was also something likable about him under all that douche. (lol) The banter and chemistry between him and Valentine was sizzling and humourous. For me the real star of this book was Valentine herself. I loved this heroine. Strong. Smart. Loving. Feisty. Caring. Not a virgin (yay). She gave Ari a run for his money. I loved her. Last, this ends on a cliffhanger that broke my heart. Ari…Ari…Ari…there better be much groveling in his future. That is all I will say about that!
Hell yeah!!! I loved this book. Amazing storyline and tons of super hot scenes. I mean…whew !!! In all seriousness though this book was great. The characters are some of my favorites and I was absolutely addicted to their banter. Sassy, strong, smart and so damn sexy for Val. Alpha, asshole and arrogant for Ari. Did I say alpha?! If so it bears mentioning again.
Stylo’s books are always some of my favorites to read when I need super steamy and gritty storylines. Love this one and that ending had me mad as hell. I need more. This book is fanfuckingtastic! Highly recommend!!!
Looking for a story to melt you kindle? Have your cheeks rosy red from blushing! Guess what I found it. What We Do In The Dark was scorching! Stylo is a master as unique backdrops, engaging characters and she can write a heck of a sex scene!
I would sell my soul to be able to work or have a membership at Cashé! It’s like a revolving adult circus. Cashé is the backdrop of where our main character Valentine works. It’s where she meets Ari who challenges her and moves her world off its axis.
This book was hard to put down. It had everything. Heat, suspense, angst and some wildly unique side characters. I have read several of this authors books and I can always count on her to have me completely engrossed in her words.
5 Sexy & Erotic Stars
Where in the world did Ari Sharapov come from? This man…he is the epitome of the alphahole, but honestly, he leans more towards just asshole lol. And he definitely won’t be apologizing for it. There was something about him that I just loved and craved, but Valentine, I adored her. She’s been dealt a crap hand in life and is doing everything in her power just to survive and take care of her grandmother. She’s a plain jane student by day and super sexy escort at Cache’ by night.
As always, Fantome’s writing is superb and just sucks me in from the beginning. Ari and Val have so much chemistry. I could feel it coming off the pages. Val is the perfect woman to bring Ari to his knees and make him feel and he doesn’t like it one bit, but he just can’t help himself when it comes to her. This story is long, but I thought well paced. It’s super sexy, erotic, and the sex is smoking hot and plentiful. It does end on a cliffy, so I can’t wait for the next one.

Talk about smexy/smutty goodness!
Add in a good dose of heart and some very interesting characters (both good and bad) and this was definitely a fun and interesting read, even if I wanted to gut a certain character with a spoon more than once, that kept me turning those pages and has me quite interested to see how everything will play out in the next book.
Now, Ari and Valentine…I adored Valentine, it was hard not to after learning about all she had been through, what she was going through and just seeing how she took it all in stride, put on her shitkickers and handled her business. She’s sassy with a heart of gold. Ari, well, I wanted to gut him with a spoon. I know he’s got his own ‘issues’ and considering the world he lives in and the way his life has been mapped out for him, I had some empathy for him, but man the asshat alpha AF is in full force with him. As for their journey. This is just part one and regardless of them being opposites in so many ways, they actually flowed well together for me. The smexy was HAWT, they were seriously on fire, and their ‘bantering’ was fun, but watching as the walls started to crack…well, there is potential for so much more between them.
This is a duet, so this one ends on a cliffy of sorts meaning it wasn’t an OMG WTF kind of cliffy, but it is one that has me wanting the next book ASAP to see the crazy they’ll put each other through before getting (hopefully) their HEA.
And as for the supporting cast of characters. They were all quite unique and fascinating in there own ways. There were a few who surpassed Ari on me wanting to gut them with a spoon, but I will admit their…uniqueness did bring life to the story. But I loved Del, Charice, Serge and Bailey and am thrilled that I get to spend more time with them in Day to Night!

What We Do in the Night by Stylo Fantôme is book One in the Day to Night Series. This starts the story of Ari Sharapov and Valentine O’Dell.
Valentine hasn’t had it easy at all, her parents died when she was young, then her sister took her money and now her grandmother is in need of healthcare after a stroke. So she ends up working at a exclusive club as a dancer to get money but she also has a totally different daytime life. Ari is working to take over his father’s law firm which in itself is stressful. Ari isn’t one for real relationships at all. Anyone he is with is just a mutual fun time between the two. The he meets Valentine and she sparks something in him but they both have they day and night time life.
This does end setting us up for the next book in their story.
Honestly, when I first started this story, I was wondering how I will be able to read something like this. I told myself that this was a Stylo Fantome book. It’s meant to be original. I went on and it very quickly became a 5 star story that I devoured in a day. I was hooked.
Valentine works in a very original club. Ari visits that club and sees her. He wants her and will do everything in his power to own her. What starts out as an arrangement soon becomes so much more.
After a chapter or two in, I was hooked. It was an original storyline with an original setting. The plot was not what I was thinking it would be, it was so much more. This is a solid page turner, that had fire works like the Fourth of July. Ari and Valentine had more major chemistry and attraction going on.
Nicely written with some great characters that were perfectly created for this type of story. Although it ends with a cliffhanger that shock me, I can’t wait for the rest.
This story is told in the third person that ends with a cliffhanger. I strongly recommend this story.
It’s an ok read
I really enjoyed the beginning of this book and was hopeful for the remainder, but it quickly went downhill. I definitely felt the connection and attraction between the two main characters from the start, but they rapidly went from charming to dull. Most of their drama revolved around miscommunication that escalated into fights that had no real redemption from either character. For example, they get into an argument and he calls her a whore and she leaves, stands in the elevator for a second, then runs back in and they have sex immediately. All is resolved; no talking whatsoever.
I can understand this is an adult erotica novel, but the alpha male possessiveness was explosive, and not in a good way. The fact that he’s paying to sleep with her can be excused because she’s an escort, but he literally acted like he owned her and refused to let any other man even look at her.
I don’t think I’ll be reading the sequel because I’ve heard nothing but negative things about it, but I would consider picking up more of this author’s books.
I’ve tried to read this author in the past and her writing has definitely improved, though there were a few grammar mistakes throughout. However, it was nothing glaringly obvious, just a few instances.
This was my first Stylo Fantome’s book. This is the first book in the Day to Night Series, an erotic romance. Ari and Valentine’s story is captivating. They share an intense and sizzling chemistry. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Series to know what happens next.
5 Explosive Stars With Intense Chemistry!
The most intense chemistry I have come across in awhile!!! I was completely and totally taken with Valentine and Ari.
A brief meeting at her job left him intrigued, yet he never expected to see her again. Valentine O’Dell shows back up at his girlfriend’s unexpectedly as her partner on a school project. He’s not sure at first if it’s her until he follows her to her job.
Sure enough, the girl from Cachè is HER!
Valentine has two sides; the good college girl who takes care of her grandmother and the naughty girl who works nights at a fantasy club fulfilling any interested man’s dreams. Val is fun and feisty, but she has a lot responsibility weighing on her. She does what needs to be done to pay the bills, go to school and care for her sick grandmother. When she’s at the club, she gets to live in the fantasy world and forget her troubles.
Ari wants the naughty girl and he wants her all to himself. He’s about to make her a proposition she won’t be able to resist. Mutually beneficial, but no strings. Ari doesn’t want a girlfriend or any kind of obligation beyond his work. He just wants the fantasy girl all to himself. Two separate lives; his work and his nights with Saint Valentine.
The author will hold your interest because the sparks are constantly flying. The story is told in third person and focuses on his need for control and her need to relinquish it. They are the perfect match even though it is difficult for each of them to overlook their differences. This is a duet, so book one will end on a cliffhanger leaving you wanting more! Book two is available so there is nothing holding you back from getting to find out what’s next for this explosive couple.
Every now and then you read a book that smacks you between the eyes and asks you why on earth you left it sitting around on your kindle, drumming its fingers and waiting for attention! It then proceeds to blow your ever living socks off!! What We Do in the Night is one of those books! It has left me sockless and breathless. It is original, clever, intense, sexy rather than just hot (which it is too), and completely absorbing.
I love Val. She is strong, kind, loving, insightful, dedicated, unselfish, brave…
Ari…arrogant, determined, selfish, possessive, intelligent, though not necessarily clever, and in so many ways, a better person in the making, thanks to Val. And I love him too.
As you can tell, I love this book and I really cannot wait to read the next book!
I’m so in love with these characters, Valentine and Ari…heck Charice, Angel, Del, Evans, and Bailey too. This story is supposed to come in two books, this being the first and the way Stylo Fantôme delivered the first half was nothing short of perfection so far. She really dug her claws deep into my chest and ripped my heart out by the end of this first book. I’m definitely in NEED of the second book to see how it all ends.
Valentine hasn’t had it easy growing up so as an adult she has to step up and take on more responsibilities than she admits to anyone. She goes to design school by day and works at an exclusive club…no, a secret club called Cache. She is such an exotic beauty with an equally beautiful personality that they have dubbed her Saint Valentine. Her job at the club is basically hospitality in the sense that she’s paid to show clients a good time. There are certain lines of course that she isn’t willing to cross, but that never stops her from delivering what the clients want.
Ari is just another suit who was invited to the club by a friend and was mesmerized by everything. However, his main attraction to this club is Saint Valentine. He wants her bad…so bad that he’s willing to pay for exclusivity. The only problem is that he’s such a dick! He doesn’t care about Valentine’s feelings for the most part. He just seems to see her as an object for his fun. So when he screws up and Valentine doesn’t want crap to do with him, he loses it.
So I tend to get super excited if the story is good and let me tell you…this one is one of the best I’ve read in this genre. So I’m going to stop here before I give spoilers and just say, READ IT, it’s really good.
All I can say is that I loved this freaking book. What We Do in the Night is a testimony to how man and woman can think and act one way during any time of their life to either make ends meet or to get through a tough time. That is what both our characters do in this book.
Valentine and Ari are both in a tight spot, the difference between the two is that Ari has more money then he knows what to do with. Moreover, Valentine is a down on her luck girl taking care of everyone and everything but making the best of her life. However, when these two meet the sparks are off the charts.
I could not put this book down. During most of it, I want to smack the crap out of Ari and hug Valentine and tell her it was going to get better. However, isn’t that what a good book does to you? Of course, both Ari and Valentine make a mess of their relationship and fall apart right before the end, but that is no surprise. The journey is the surprise and how they bond and find the courage to even come together over the time they have. I love these characters, and also the secondary ones get into your heart and soul.
3.75
Unrealistic, slightly predictible, and too long. I liked it anyway and had fun reading it! Reading a Stylo Fantome book is like watching a chick flick with an edge. Great entertainment. Sometimes I crave angst and drama and this delivered. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.
The ow drama wasn’t offensive, but rather silly. I actually didn’t think Ari was that bad, but I might be desensitized at this point.
Anyone who likes this premise (dancer working to support a family member, alphahole trope) should check out Better When It Hurts by Skye Warren, which was really well done.

Wow. What an amazing book! @stylofantome has outdone herself with the story. I’ve read stories about bad boy millionaires before, but this was truly different and extremely captivating.
Summary: Valentine O’Dell is given a short hand in life. Struggling to make ends meet with her grandmother’s medical bills and her student loans piling up, she takes a job at an unconventional night club as an escort, which she starts to love. Eventually as the night begins, Saint Valentine makes an appearance. Who is every man’s fantasy – especially one for Aaron Sharapov, who transforms into Ari as the night falls. To know how they become an escape for each other is why you NEED to get this book on June 21st
What I loved:
The character development in this book was amazing! At first, you think Ari is just another rich guy looking for a fun time, but you soon realise that he’s a beast in a cage. The cage being his father’s tight grip on his career, which doesn’t allow him to have control over anything. While Val has to have control over too much, and that is exactly why she’s looking for an escape. For someone else to take over the reigns for a little bit.
The way the author plays over the concept of control is beautiful. While one craves it, the other is happily willing to give it up — and that is exactly why the two characters fit perfectly well together. You feel the heat because the chemistry between them is so perfect!
Another thing I loved was the climax. It’s very important for me to have the perfect reason for the dramatic climax in the book. And in this one, all the build up and the tension over the character’s fighting, was truly well placed!
What I wished there could be more of:
I think what I missed was more of the soft romance. While Ari & Val are clearly perfect for each other, I think some parts of the book could have been lengthened to play out more of their romantic chemistry – but I’m just a greedy reader. I’m sure we’ll find more of the two in the next one! And for that I cannot wait!
I cannot wait to see the two characters again!
This book comes out on June 21st! YOU HAVE TO READ IT!
What We Do in the Night by Stylo Fantome wasn’t a good read for me I thought that I would give this author a try as he or she is a new author to me? This is the first book in the Day to Night Series. I had to make myself finish this book so that I could review it. I usually just stop reading it altogether. This book wasn’t my cup of tea.
What We Do in the Night explores the budding romance between Valentine O’Dell and Ari Sharpov. Valentine works as a professional dancer at a club and Ari works with his family as a corporate lawyer at their law firm. The pair meets at the club where this club makes your fantasy come true. There are sparks between Valentine and Ari at this first meeting. Ari also has a girlfriend that Valentine didn’t know anything about until she met Harper which is her classmate for a project. Ari returns to the club the next night to proposition Valentine.
Does Valentine take Ari up on his offer? You will have to read What We Do in the Night by Stylo Fantome. This book has romance and some romantic suspense which readers like. If you like this style of writing, make sure you get a copy of this book.
I LOVED IT and in all capital letters. This author knows how to write the best and most delicious type of angsty banter. Especially between a sinner who wants control and a saint who wants to give her control away. And when the sun goes down, the saint and sinner come out to play.
Ari Sharapova is the sinner and boy is he scrumptious. He’s powerful, wealthy, very arrogant and always gets what he wants. Valentine O’Dell is the saint with a side of sinner. She is sexy, speaks her mind, works in a secret sex club and is doing her best to keep her real life afloat. So when two different worlds collide at Caché, a special arrangement is made between Ari and Valentine where all bets are off.
But as Ari and Valentine spend time together, feeling develop where there shouldn’t be. Their passionate and fiery banter only fuel their connection in and out of the sheets. Even though Ari is an arrogant ass, Valentine’s sweet and sassy self gets to Ari and they really do make a perfect pair, until, Ari messes up in a royally epic way and gets what he deserves. This book does end in a delicious cliffhanger that will only fuel the fire in the second book of this duet. I can only hope the time passes quickly.
For lovers of sexy, passionate, fiery banter this is a must read. This author doesn’t disappoint when writing arrogant alpha’s with spicy, sweet heroines. This story is filled with erotic passion, push and pull angst, sarcastic humor, compassion, sexiness and sass. If you have read this author then, but if you haven’t, I implore you to take a walk on the wild side and read the talented words of this awesome writer, you won’t be disappointed.
Valentine O’Dell works as a dancer at Cache while she goes to school and helps to support her grandma who had a stroke. When she is partnered in school with the very snobby and condensing Harper Kittering she doesn’t think it can get any worse until she meets Harper’s boyfriend, Ari Sharapov.
Ari Sharapov is used to getting what he wants and right now he wants Valentine. He is a lawyer who works for his father’s company but after winning his latest case he begs for some time off. He is expected to follow in his father’s footsteps and marry the right girl, Harper, which will increase his clout within the right circles.
When Ari pays Valentine’s boss for her exclusivity will Ari keep Valentine hidden from his world? Can Valentine deal with being a “dirty secret” if it helps her financially with her grandma?
This was a great book with some great twists and turns to leave you wondering what is going to happen in the next book.
I liked Valentine and I understood everything she did in order to survive and have someone watch her grandma. She never had an easy of of things lately and I gave her a lot of credit for giving up her own dreams to do what she needed to. I hated how Harper treated her without knowing her or her story.
Ari was much more complex as he almost had two lives – the one he wanted and the one that was expected of him. It appeared that he was forced to be in a relationship with Harper and that he really didn’t like her much. Yet he needed to appear a certain way and Valentine was definitely from the same socio-economic background that he was.
There was so much chemistry between Ari and Valentine and I liked that they were both truly developing feelings for one another but I was also pretty worried about what was going to happen between them. This was definitely shown to me with an incident at Ari’s place and Valentine feeling like a dirty secret.
The stuff that happened after Valentine received the call about her grandma was so heartbreaking and I was so beyond mad at Ari for everything!! I was so disappointed for Valentine but I was happy that so many people had her back.
I am really curious to see where everything leads as I know Valentine cares so much but Ari needs to figure out his life and what he truly wants.
4 Stars
Stylo Fantôme is one of my favorite authors and definitely a one-click author for me. I loved all the book I read by this author. What we do in the Night is the first book in Day to NightDuet, and it was no exception.
Valentine and Ari were very different. They were like water and oil. The only thing they have in common is a passion, chemistry, desire, fire, and heat. It all started with a fantasy.
Val is not the typical heroine sweet and innocent you are accustomed to…NO. She has sass, she is fierce, smart, strong. Life wasn’t gentle with her, and every time she thought all was going to be ok, fate hit her again. She is doing everything she can to take care of her Gran. Goes to school at day, and works at night.
Ari is one of the famous and richest attorneys and he is a bachelor. He is arrogant, cocky, jerk, a$$hole, hot and sexy. He has everything wants money, fame, success and a sexy girlfriend he can’t stand, not to mention love, but he isn’t happy. He wants something forbidden, something new and crazy, and so he meets Valentine.
When Ari and Valentine are together, sparks fly. They broke all the rules. The attraction between them is so strong and powerful, everything melts around them.
ll escalates and becomes complicated. All becomes more than a fantasy, more than desire. From fire is born heat and feelings…But they can never be together. Their worlds are too different…Can their love make it? Can something beautiful as their love can survive the cold ugly world?
I would’ve wanted more angst, more suspense, more twists, and turns. It was a great read, especially hot. I confess that I was expecting it to be dark, but it wasn’t…AT ALL. Can’t wait to read the next book and see how Ari’s and Val’s relationship works out.
I highly recommend!
