Announcing a brand new, cover-to-cover revision of America’s pregnancy bible. What to Expect When You’re Expecting is a perennial New York Times bestseller and one of USA Today’s 25 most influential books of the past 25 years. It’s read by more than 90% of pregnant women who read a pregnancy book—the most iconic, must-have book for parents-to-be, with over 14.5 million copies in print. Now comes … print.
Now comes the Fourth Edition, a new book for a new generation of expectant moms—featuring a new look, a fresh perspective, and a friendlier-than-ever voice. It’s filled with the most up-to-date information reflecting not only what’s new in pregnancy, but what’s relevant to pregnant women. Heidi Murkoff has rewritten every section of the book, answering dozens of new questions and including loads of new asked-for material, such as a detailed week-by-week fetal development section in each of the monthly chapters, an expanded chapter on pre-conception, and a brand new one on carrying multiples. More comprehensive, reassuring, and empathetic than ever, the Fourth Edition incorporates the most recent developments in obstetrics and addresses the most current lifestyle trends (from tattooing and belly piercing to Botox and aromatherapy). There’s more than ever on pregnancy matters practical (including an expanded section on workplace concerns), physical (with more symptoms, more solutions), emotional (more advice on riding the mood roller coaster), nutritional (from low-carb to vegan, from junk food–dependent to caffeine-addicted), and sexual (what’s hot and what’s not in pregnant lovemaking), as well as much more support for that very important partner in parenting, the dad-to-be.
Overflowing with tips, helpful hints, and humor (a pregnant woman’s best friend), this new edition is more accessible and easier to use than ever before. It’s everything parents-to-be have come to expect from What to Expect…only better’.

Informative!
Great resource especially for the first pregnancy. Provides lots of easy to read, and searchable answers for all your questions about things/symptoms to be aware of, or the things you didn’t know would happen. Great, reassuring big book of support where you can ask those “stupid” questions and not be embarrassed.
Absolutely helpful, honest and reassuring.
Very informative.

Every expectant Mom needs this book! Great gift for a baby shower!
This was my must have book while pregnant
Every mother to be (especially first time mom’s) should have this book. It will answer about any question or concerns that you have during pregnancy.
A MUST-HAVE for all first time parents.
I hated this book and pitched it across the room, 20 years ago.
Read through it all three times. Great info and reassurance for soon to be moms!
Ugh. This is a list of what could go wrong when you are expecting. Find something else. Dr. Sears has a helpful Pregnancy Book. This is not the one to help you through your pregnancy.
It actually made me overthink on everything when I was expecting scared the crap out of me
Meant to be informative, its result is to strike fear into the heart of every first time parent. Chapters dedicated to things that only happen to less than 1% of babies make for a fear filled book only to be outdone by Steven King’s IT.
A must have when you are pregnant!
Fantastic for expectant moms. Would recommend to get as a gift for any 1st time mom. My oldest is 21 but I still remember the book. The following books (“What to expect the 1st year”, etc) were also great for reference & info!
This book was the best tool I had during all 3 of my pregnancies. So much good information and real answers. I recommend it to anyone planning a family or surprised by one.
A must have for expectant moms! This book was really easy to read and you can read straight through or turn to specific sections you are interested in. Extremely informative-
The best pregnancy book around! If you want to choose only one book to help you through your pregnancy, this is it! It is highly informative, well written, has great illustrations, and was very well researched. Look no further than the latest edition of What To Expect When You’re Expecting!
