WHAT THE HEART WANTS (The Wish Series Book 1) By Audrey Carlan
Once again Audrey Carlan has created a world that is hard to walk away from. I started it late and read until the wee hours. This is a second chance romance, with loving strong family ties, wonderful characters, a solid well written drama, forgiveness, and passionate smokin’ hot chemistry. I am looking forward to t he 2nd book in this series. This is a very addicting 5 star story.
5 Star Review What The Heart Wants (Wish #1) by Audrey Carlan
This was a beautifully written, emotional, heart felt story that ticked the boxes for me.
This was a book that gave me all the feels. Suda Kaye Ross is a free spirit travelling the world for ten years and avoiding going home and facing the people she left behind, her sister Evie and the man who held her heart Camden (Cam) Bryant.
This was an emotional read at times as every year on her birthday, Suda opens a letter from her mother who wrote them prior to her death, as she travels the world. That is until she reads a letter that finally sees her returning home.
This book is a journey of discovery, of looking deeply inside oneself and coming to terms with what you find. The resentment and hurt that Evie and Cam felt when Suda left, still burns brightly and their feelings were palpable, making the story realistic. Will Suda be able to make amends with those she hurt so badly and in doing so recapture the love and family that she has been missing?
This is a story of angst, passion, forgiveness, love and family and one that touched me to my soul. One click this little gem, you won’t be disappointed.
I listened to the audiobook of this and I could not stand the narrator. Her voice made me cringe at times.
The overall story was just ok. I expected something deeper than what was given. In my opinion the main character was portrayed as someone that just slept with tons of guys on her many adventures.
Not a book I would recommend.
I wish I could give this book a hundred stars.
It’s such an amazing story of sisterhood, finding yourself and that home is truly where the heart is.
The love between Camden and Suda Kaye is a love we should all strive for with our other half. When you find your person, you just know.
