There’s just no reading this book without a sense of humor. Lucy is a comedy of errors unto herself as she tries so hard to be this great PI and solve the case. The antics she and her fellows get into kept me chuckling throughout the book. Her life definitely isn’t boring, that’s for sure. I’m really curious about what’ll come next.
She started an investigation but what she did not expect was to have an illegal slave and a thirst for blood. She has no idea what has happened. She starts to learns of the vampire world. What will she do? Will she become a part of it? Will she take it down? See what she decides to do

At the end of the end of ‘Fangs for Nothing’ Lucy received a present from William, a present she is not happy about. A blood slave he’d ordered while trying to one up Derek, before they reconciled that situation.
This books starts right at that point and she’s lying in wait for William with Jester in her lap. She more than a little pissed off and it shows.
That’s just the beginning of this hilarious and intriguing tale. She goes on a date with Derek and finds he isn’t the one sending her all those ‘gifts’ that are piling up in her living room. They decide to go back to the house and see what’s in them. So not what she expected and William and Derek are getting along very well. She still has to find that darn watch and in her pursuit of that she runs into Watson again. Just what she needs more complications.
I certainly didn’t expect the twist this one took or the ending. I can’t wait for all of this to be solved.
***1/2 stars- This is the second book in the Vampire Detective series. Lucy is a vampire and PI. She is surrounded by three men, William, Watson, and Derek. Can she choose only one? She is in the middle of a case and she accidentally discovers a blood slave ring. What will she do? Can she shut them down? The book ends in a cliffhanger and you must read the next book. The interactions between Lucy and her three men is entertaining and fun. All three men are charming in their own way. Looking forward to the third book.

This was a fun second in a new to me series. It was well written with interesting characters and world building that makes me want to know more.
Looking forward to more Adventures with Lucy and her (potential) harem of men in her life. Derek seems to be a bkessing/problem, William is quite the gentleman and her childhood friend turned frenemy … could be a wild ride! The cat that no one knows where it came from and the illegal blood slave that was ordered to her door by whom exactly … so much going on!
I received this as an Advance reader Copy from Booksprout with the hopes I would like it and review it.
First let me state that I received an advanced reader copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.
Wow!!! This mystery is getting better and better. It’s almost as if Lucy is being led on a wild goose chase. And as for the three men in her life, things are pretty complicated. I’m looking forward to reading the next book. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
Book 2 answered some of the questions I had from Book 1 and gave me some insights into the main characters. The storyline had some suspense, mystery, drama and humor, which made the read more enjoyable. Looking forward to the next book.

Lucy is still working on her cases. She finally said yes to William and is wearing his ring. Lucy and William had a talk and it was decided that she could go on dates with Derek and Watson to see where her feelings lie. William knows Lucy is his so he is okay with it. This story is sweet and funny, and perfect for any reader. Highly recommended.

Lucy and her boys are working hard to sort what is happening between them as well as the clues Lucy is finding to what started as a lost object, but is looking more sinister by the moment. Along for the ride is Mika, the big reveal from the end of book 1 who seems part an parcel of the mysteries as well. This is a slow burn RH that stays clean so far – a few chaste kisses and a bit of innuendo.
This is book 2 in the Vampire detective series as like book 1, this left many mysteries unsolved, many questions unanswered and and ended with a bombshell to shake Lucy’s world. This book was far richer in storytelling than book 1. I like how this is building.
Laura G. continues Lucinda, William, “Watt”, & Derek’s ….maybe even Mika..?.?.. from the first book. She continues her PI work attempting to find the clues & leads that will bring her to finding out the real mystery behind it all…. what’s w/the blind black cat? The collar? Does she even remember that mysterious phone call??…? Will she finally decide to marry William?? What about her feelings for the other men in her life?? What’s to come of that..? Guess you’ll have to read on with me…

The plot and the romance is really brimming in this book. The mystery is still ongoing and new clues show up, Lucy discovers a side to the vampire society she didn’t know of and her love life just gets more complicated and interesting. Great second book I really really liked it.

This is book 2 in Greenwood’s series The Vampire Detective. Another great addition to this series – I was happy to be reunited with Lucy and her guys! Lucy’s love life gets more and more complicated as does the mystery she finds herself thrust into. Such a fun read with unexpected paths to follow. Well written and of course amazing characters – I can’t wait for the finally in this trilogy!

I have absolutely loved this series so far. I love Lucy and her men. I also appreciate how the story had be guessing and questioning the whole time because I hate stories where I know the ending before I even read it. I also really like the characters and can’t wait to get to the next story to see what happens to them. I would definitely recommend this book.

What The Fangs (The Vampire Detective #2) is similar to the first book in the series, Fangs For Nothing (The Vampire Detective Book 1), in that it has a minimal amount of private investigation going on and a lot of witty romance; let me figure out my love life storyline. Lucy, William, and Derek are walking in the reverse harem realm, which feels awkward. Of course, there is Watt, still getting in the way of Lucy’s not so burgeoning PI business. The story does flow better than the first book but was still not as engaging as I had hoped it would be. I like the introduction of the two characters, Mika and Watson. There is more of a mystery element in this book, which was nice to read. There is also a little cliffhanger ending that compels you to read the next book in the series.

The plot gets more complicated, not only by another love interest but also unsolved mysteries. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The good the bad and the ugly of vampire society.
Lucy is getting gifts, thinking they are from Derek, even though she sort of has a fiancé named William. When she confronts Derek and he says they aren’t from him, they go back to her place and open them. The gifts have clues and following them up leads to other clues. It also leads to her former childhood best friend Watson who she thinks abandoned her years ago. Now she has three potential lovers. Who does she pick? And the clues she’s been receiving lead to something that she never thought she would see and she is determined to stop it. No matter the cost. This is book two of The Vampire Detective series and Lucy (Lucinda) Corentine is facing even more issues. William, her long waiting fiancé, has managed to somehow buy her a blood slave, something that has been illegal for a hundred years or more, whilst exceedingly drunk trying to cope with Lucy’s closeness to Derek. She has been getting tons of packages coming to her door, none of which she has even opened and William believes they are from Derek, trying to push his affections for Lucy and rub it in William’s face. William is visiting to help with the missing watch case, but that has brought about more issues with their relationship and her attraction to Derek, which she doesn’t know how to address. She has always loved William and always knew she would marry him one day, so isn’t really sure what to do about her new feelings for Derek without upsetting what is expected of her.
The strange packages she received have led Lucy to a shop in town and she meets her first love Watson and now bitter rival, just outside and he persuades her to let him come in to help her, like their childhood games. The big question of why he suddenly disappeared on her all those years ago, is still to be discovered and may answer some questions she has about her life. They end up an auction and a watch similar to that which she had been hired to find, leads them into a secret auction in the back of the warehouse, where she discovers a long forbidden practice still being upheld and taken advantage of, by certain rich and noble families of vampires. Her grandmother fought to stop these practices and her team of men, William, Derek and Watson are there to help her take up her grandmother’s fight! She has her blood slave or blood servant Mika to also worry about at almost every turn, as well as some odd feelings about her as well!
She tries to face the Vampire Council with the issues of humans still being used for blood slavery, but has a lot to learn still about the powers behind the council and those that sit on it, whether they be elders or legacy heirs such as her. It seems the power of the council is being controlled by only a few, rather than voted on by each individual, as it should have been. She wanted the freedom to live as a modern vampire in the modern world, rather than be stuck with the expectations of her mother and the old fashioned vampire roles and rules. She may have taken on more than she can handle in both her personal life and also her burgeoning life as a P.I. Nothing is going to be simple and easy for her in either part of her life. She may have been warned off in her investigation, but she won’t give up quite so easily. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
