A suspicious fire leaves an Amish bachelor dead, an innocent suspect in police custody, and Bishop Henry Lapp holding the possible key to unlocking the mystery. But will Henry trust God enough to use his extraordinary talent to help solve the case?
I love Vannetta Chapman’s mysteries. This Bishop Series is amazing and so well-written.

I enjoy knowing I will learn something new when I read a Vannetta Chapman book.
We join Henry and his community while they are trying to figure out who killed one of their own in a suspicious fire. Henry has a special talent in being able to draw a scene and see things he does not consciously remember.
You will come to love Katie Ann who holds a special place in so many hearts.
It was pleasing to read about an Amish community in a not so familiar setting. I didn’t know there was an Amish community in Colorado.
This is a great novel for Amish and mystery fans alike.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harvest House Publishers for a free copy to read and review with my honest opinion.

This book was incredible! I don’t want to give any spoilers away, so I will try to refrain myself from doing so. The characters are amazing, and I never was quite sure who the arsonist was and it stayed a mystery until towards the end of the book. There was a letter, and the author wrote the letter the same way the characters saw it, they only saw half of it, the right \ half. At first I thought it was a printing mistake, until I realized that they did it intentionally!! Very unique and very clever!! The book was a great mystery and had a wonderful ending! Definitely a page turner in my opinion!!!!! 🙂

What the Bishop Saw is a really good mystery in itself. You are guessing from the time you open the book and the last page you turn. Who killed Veron Fry? Did someone murder Veron Fry on purpose? Is it Amish and English.
I am still surprised with the ending. The Englisher needs help as she does not get to bottom of the case or any closes. Will the bishop help save an innocent man and catch the culprit? What is Henry talent and is it good or is bad. To find out this you need to read the book.
I am still wondering why this person did what he or she did towards the Amish when they did not do anything to have it happen. Vanetta Chapman gets you hooked and wanting more. You will not want to put this book down once you start to read it. It pages turner for you. Will Henry take a leap a faith and use these talents. Find out by reading What the Bishop Saw. It a compelling story and one I hope to follow more of Henry and this community in Colorado Valley.

Vannetta Chapman’s What the Bishop Saw is such an original Amish novel. The bishop has a unique talent that makes this book entertaining, plus I like that Vannetta writes about older romantic couples. I’m looking forward to more books in this series!

I love the all the Amish mystery series that have come out within the last few years. They have great characters, no blood, great story plots without all the guns, and violence.

A moving story of change, challenge & building. You know your neighbors, but aren’t completely sure if they are what you think they are. A story of second chances and young love. A pager turner

This was a very interesting book. It was respectful of the Amish heritage as the plain people had to interact with the Englischers in new situations. There was mystery as well as heritage; all brought together well.
