When Angela Ellis returns to her childhood home on St. Nabor Island, South Carolina, her junior year of college interrupted indefinitely by her mother’s death, she doesn’t know how she’ll ever be able to function in the world without her mother’s love, support, and guidance. Soon after her mother’s funeral, strange sounds begin to trouble her in the night, sounds she swears are her mother’s angry voice. In an effort to find peace for herself and for her mother’s restless spirit, Angela begins a ghost hunt that makes her friends fear for her sanity and that leads her to more questions than answers. Good Book
Started slow but picked up.. enjoyed
I read a few chapters but got so tired of the profanity and the immorality that’s all too often present in books to sell them. I finally simply closed the book and deleted it. I think it could have been a good story, but the language wasn’t what I prefer hearing/reading, and wasn’t needed in common conversation.
Loved it! I love stories about ghosts and supernatural, not the werewolf kind though.
S-l-o-w. Characters not that interesting to want to linger. Two seemingly unrelated stories finally come together close to the end.
Very good. Didn’t want to put it down.
Really enjoyed, kept me guessing.
I had a hard time keeping all the characters straight.
Great job merging the story lines and characters. Could be two stand alone stories and even additional story lines about the aunts.
Interesting Story!
I felt the plot was very well thought out in the way that it brought the two main characters together in the end. The twist going into the paranormal made it delightfully fun.
Loved the way the story unwraps, the way the character’s lives intersect and the setting (I live in Maine). Enjoyed this book very much!
It took awhile to figure out the characters. Once that happened then it made me keep going to figure out the connection they all had! Made it hard to stop reading at times! Enjoyed!
This book was a slow starter, but I’m glad I kept reading. All the characters are unique and eventually intertwined. I would recommend this book. The author has developed the characters and the story in a very interesting way.
Just when I was tired of waiting. . .a wave of interest would ignite.
A very enjoyable read.
I couldn’t get beyond the first chapter. The imagery was burdensome and distracting. The vagueries didn’t catch my attention at all-I didn’t want to know what was coming next…
It took me a while to figure out the connection between the two main characters. BUT, I liked the book, the characters were well developed with excellent background stories. I’m assuming there is an ongoing story (should I say I am hoping for a continuing story). Read it, it’s different and thoroughly enjoyable
a good young adult mystery with a supernatural touch that made it more interesting. Good writing, realistic characters.
It wasn’t what I expected but a good read; especially in ‘this age of dna kits where people can trace their kin.
