But he’s never forgiven himself for breaking Laney Calhoun’s heart a decade earlier when she was accepted into medical school. So when she returns to Wardham for Christmas, he goes over to Evening Lane Farm to see her. Just to say hi, maybe. And maybe to deal with some of their complicated history.Laney … history.
Laney loves everything about her new life in Chicago. Everything except for the weird feeling she gets when she thinks about her high school sweetheart. So when Kyle turns up on her mother’s doorstep, she does her best to ignore the way he makes her feel. But he’s just down the road, and they keep bumping into each other. Then there’s the small matter that he still takes her breath away, still makes her laugh, and still sees all of her secret desires. And he seems intent on proving to her that he’s a different kind of man now.
But is a week of holidays enough time to for a second chance at love?

Another small town romance + a second chance romance. This was the book that made me fall in love with Zoe York. She has a way about her. She can write the sweetest of stories and make you fall in love with her characters. This book was the perfect mix of a little nice and naughty. There is a little bit of angst involved, considering it is a …
I had the biggest smile on my face almost the entire time I listened to this audiobook! Kyle and Laney were a delight to be with as they took their second chance at romance. They quickly realized what had happened previously needed to be that way, and they built upon where they are now in life. Their attraction to each other is undeniable and …
I enjoyed this book. Problem though was I didn’t like the flow. Loved the idea of going back to a long lost love. I felt that something was missing.
Zoey York is one of the few authors I have on auto-purchase. That’s how good her books are.
Often a couple can communicate without speaking. Kyle and Laney had that bond when they were young. They find out that that bond is still there after 10 years apart. Laney and Kyle can make each other laugh and cry and that is what makes good relationships last. Zoe York is a bestselling author who knows romance.
Was entertaining and enjoyed reading about how the characters evolved over time.
A beautifully written read that shows the power of true love that time apart cannot lessen. Wonderful characters that prove for some there really is only one person that makes them tick!
Good read. Loved the storyline.
Loved this book. Couldn’t wait to find out what happens next. Enjoyed reading it. Stayed up most of the night trying to finish it.
loved it
Characters were not believable. After an emotional breakup, which impacted her outlook for years-she visits home for the holidays and immediately jumps into bed with him. The new relationship is ALL about sex. Not one of my favorite Zoe York stories.
I love this series. Small-town charm, great characters and sexy moments that you remember long after you finish reading about them. Ms. York’s writing appeals to me on so many levels. She’s smart and honest and helped me really feel I was in her town of Wardham. I know I’ll visit again.
Love
Second chances at first love. Kyle stayed and is a teacher like he wanted to be. Laney became the doctor she wanted but the broke up when she went to Harvard and never dealt with their feelings. They are talking while she us home for Christmas. Can they make it work a second time.
Found it to br a pleasant read.
Not one of my favorites.
Quick read. Decent beach read.
Good book
I could not put this book down until I was finished reading it. It was so much better than I thought it was going to be. It brought on a few tears but had a happy ending and I love the Story from beginning to end.
Great story! Kept me page turning!
Fun read
