SOPHIAGorgeous. Cocky. Playboy. Those labels earned Xander Black a one-way ticket into my look-but-don’t-touch zone.Until weeks later, when whispered words full of dirty promises had me sliding onto the back of his bike without a second thought. If there’s one thing my past has taught me, it’s not to fall for a guy whose hobbies include bed-hopping and breaking hearts. But you know what they say … hearts. But you know what they say about history…
XANDER
Sweet. Shy. Smart. Months ago, those labels told me everything I needed to know about Sophia Kincaid—not my type.
But then she opened her mouth and tore that assessment to shreds. From her smile to her sassy retorts, everything about her drew me in.
One night together was supposed to get her out of my system. Instead, it embedded her under my skin and drove me to make an impulsive offer I’ll definitely regret.
Because if there’s one thing life has taught me, it’s that nothing lasts forever.
Where I’d Rather Be is the fourth full-length novel of the Forget Me Knot series, but can be read as a complete standalone. WARNING: This book contains strong language and sex scenes hot enough to set your kindle on fire. If either of those things make you uncomfortable, this book might not be for you.

What it Takes to Fall is the 3rd book in the Forget Me Knot series. It is a sweet and steamy romance and I fell for these characters! This is a smalltown friends-to-lovers story that will have you swooning for the hero and cheering for the heroine.
Bryce & Elliott are childhood friends who are reunited several years after Bryce left their hometown. Their friendship is easily reignited and that’s not the only thing… with Bryce’s good looks, charm and sexy smirk; and Elliott’s brains and beauty, these two are a sure match. Their chemistry is undeniable and the slow burn will have you waiting on the edge of your seat for them to connect.
What I loved about this book is the easy banter and honest and real friendship that Bryce & Elliott had. They would be teasing each other using childhood nicknames one minute, and then in the next instance, it easily transformed into an intense passion. These two cared for each other – deeply – and it was apparent when they were young, and again years later. I fell for Bryce – he is the charming boy from next door with the bad boy streak hidden underneath. He was just what Elliott needed to see that there is more to life than working 24/7. It was endearing to watch him slowly allow her guard to come down, and his pursuance of her was absolutely swoon-worthy.
There are some surprises along the way, and you will get to revisit some of the beloved Forget Me Knot characters from earlier on in the series. If you love sweet and steamy friends to lovers in a small town setting, then this book is for you! Well done once again CR Ellis!! I can’t wait to see what is coming in Xander’s book!!! 😉
Such a great series!
I believe Elliot and Bryce may very well be my favorite couple of all time. Growing up together gives them the feeling of always being in each others heart. Reconnecting after so long means they were just meant to be. From the time that he met her as a toddler, there was always a connection. Bryce got Elliott to speak her first words to him, after such a tragic change of events in her life. Even more so … he protected her and kept her under his wing, without ever batting an eyelash.
Many years have passed, but being back in the same town, they were bound to see each other. Elliott felt a pull from the moment that she saw Bryce again. Bryce knew he wanted more, but he was afraid to let her in on a secret that he had. Afraid to hurt her and afraid to lose her. With the spark, chemistry and fire between them, can she stay away? Or will she give in to her true feelings? Will she fall and let her heart guide her into Bryce’s arms?
I truly love, love, love this story. I read it in one day. I simply could not put it down. Who cares that the family needs to eat … mama is reading!!! I absolutely can not wait for Xander and Sophia’s book … up next!
Another great book in the Forget me Knot Series!
What it Takes to Fall is book 3 in the series, but can totally be read as a stand alone. But I prefer reading in order
Elliot and Bryce are childhood best friends. They loose contact after he’s been sent to prep school at 17.
Years later Bryce has moved back home, and meets Elliot again. But in both of their lives have been big changes, and additions came. The attraction is still there. Can they figure everything out and become lovers?
This is very fun, laugh out loud, chuckles in between, sexy best friends to lovers romance. I love the banter between El & Bryce. All the what if’s they are trying to figure out. Adorable!
My favorite quote: I wonder if he knows that the day we met was the day I found my smile . Swoon. So sweet!
I can’t wait to read more from Caitlin! I’m already chuckling at the thought of Xander’s book!
I kindly received an arc for an honest review
