Normally, I don’t like first person stories, but the author handled it well. The storyline engaged the reader from start to finish. I highly recommend putting the book on your reading list.
Definitely not the typical story of this genre. There are unexpected depths in the main characters that are surprising. This is an absolutely delightful read.
I enjoyed this book so much, I ended up buying the whole series!
What drama surrounds a wedding? Entertaining and fun characters in a fun story! Like the characters and story flow. Good romance!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
LOVED this book ! I was rooting for the characters. I would love to read a sequel, to see how the characters are doing five years later.
Loved the characters and the setting.
3.5-stars bumped to 4. What do you get when a Jersey Shore girl meets a Highland laird? A cute, funny, and sometimes snarky story. It started with a no-strings, I just need a night of fun I can remember once I get back to my life in the states fling. Rose figures her best friend’s wedding in Scotland will be the perfect opportunity for that to happen. No regrets, just fun and adventure. Lacklan isn’t looking for anything but he can’t help but be interested in the maid of honor to his best man. The fun starts when the stag and hen parties meet at a local bar.
What Happens in the Highlands is a quick and entertaining story that is pure fun. Besides that, who doesn’t love a story set in the Highlands?
This is one of those fun stories where American working class falls for Scottish Royal class and vice versa. A familiar storyline, but this one is well written. The story likely needed the sex for length, but it can be skipped by those who are not sex description fans. The characters are likeable and the readers can cheer them on. The villain is dislikeable. The ending is extended a little too much. As a Scottish Country dancer I am familiar with some of the traditions and names of the pieces of clothing. Those needed to be corrected, but most Americans would not recognize the need.
Unrealistic but a relaxing read
Can’t wait for the next one in series.
Modern day fairy tale
I enjoyed this story immensely? It was a little promiscuous?
Some books are just simply a joy to read! I couldn’t put this one down. The characters were really well written and I loved every interaction they had, especially the early awkward and later swoon-worthy ones. I won’t give anything away, but several early encounters between the main characters had me biting my lip and trying not to giggle like a dork in front of my husbands who was sitting across the room. It’s been a long while since I’ve had that reaction to a book. I will definitely be looking for more by this author!
All that wealth, royalty, castles – a little far-out, but still an enjoyable read.
Just another book with unnecessary vulgar language. Such a pity.
Too predictable.
I loved it.
Lost interest when reading
Great build up of the heroine’s character. Great start to the relationship and romance. But it felt like they were apart more then together. And his character isn’t really established. Kind of felt secondary. Then it was over, happy ever after. Huh? Poor follow through.
I enjoyed Rose and Lachlan’s story! It’s a very captivating read that just sucked me in. The story is nicely developed and well written. I love the characters who couldn’t be more perfect for each other. This is a romantic adventure between an American and a sexy Scot in a kilt. Mishaps and misunderstanding occur but the chemistry is undeniable until an ex shows up. This is a delightful and fun story.
