This was a awesome book.
First book for me that I’ve read in this series. Overall I enjoyed it. Though I will say Savannah at times wasn’t a favorite character with her decision making. Rhys was the perfect guy. Loved to hear his character talk. Their romance starts out as fake but soon develops to real-instant kind of love. Which makes it tough with both from different countries and not a lot of time to pursue a relationship. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from Tule Publishing.
What Happens in the Castle” by Kelsey McKnight is a tale of one Savannah Adelson…who after years wasted on a now failed relationship …is rebuilding her midwife career…visits Scotland for her friend’s wedding and meets Rhys Mackinnon who also is invited to the wedding…and they hit it off and when Savannah’s ex Bill shows up…Rhys gallantly pretends to be her boyfriend to get rid of Bill….he also shows Savannah the wonders of Scotland. Savannah herself enjoys Rhys immensely…and dreads returning home to America…will she?!? Read & See what happens. Much enjoyed and Highly Recommended. Savannah recently broke up with her long-time selfish cheating boyfriend Bill when she meets Rhys on a train to her friend’s wedding to a Laird. At first she uses him to keep her ex at bay, but their pretend romance becomes real. Can a vacation romance turn into more? I loved the Highland games, dancing, and all the cool places Rhys took Savannah to. There were so many hidden gems that I would love to visit if I ever go there. Rhys was straight out of a sexy storybook romance. I laughed at how Bill tried to show him up, but he just couldn’t compare. This was a sexy, funny, Highland romance.
I could not put down Savannah and Rhys’ love story in What Happens in the Castle by Kelsey McKnight, book three in her What Happens series. This is a wonderful, magical, and heartwarming story, featuring Savannah Adelson, who after years of sacrificing her career she catches her cheating fiancé to the curb and revitalizes her dream of turning her midwife practice into a thriving business. Taking time for herself she travels to Scotland for the wedding of her college and best friend’s wedding and to help deliver another friend’s baby. Upon arrival she meets the cousin of the groom, who happens to be the man she just shared a train ride with. Rhys Mackinnon, a handsome kilt wearing, glass of whisky, is more than happy to be Savannah’s personal tour guide. When Savannah’s ex shows up unannounced, and unexpectedly, Rhys is more than happy to play her boyfriend. What started as a fake relationship begins to feel all too real. Savannah is torn between the feeling she has Rhys and her passion for her career. No matter what she decides, someone will get hurt. Unlike in Vegas, what happens in the castle doesn’t always stay there.
Ms. McKnight wrote a wonderful, amusing, and heartwarming story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Savannah and Rhys a chance to take their fake relationship to another level. I highly recommend What Happens in the Castle to other readers.

I have loved this entire series and am sad to see the end of it but it has been an absolute pleasure to read

What will happen when the fake starts to feel oh so real Can they have a future together You will have to read to see.
This book had my heart all a flutter! I adore this series and this book is my favorite of the three. Savannah goes to Scotland to be in a wedding and help one of her friends who is having a baby. She has a secret that she doesn’t want to share with her friends but she does share with a stranger on the train on the way to the Castle. A very handsome stranger. Life has a way of throwing things at you and in this case it was that stranger named Rhys. He just happens to be headed to the same Castle and is in the same wedding party as Savannah. I love all the accents written out that I can no longer hear since I lost my hearing. The beautiful details of the landscapes and areas that our two authors tell us about in this book and oh yes this book is a wonderful romance as well. Come take a journey a wee bit ways to Scotland and visit the land of the fairies. I love the ending!!!
A story full of romance, some humor, and friendship, all the perfect ingredients for a romance story. The characters are wonderful to get to know in the story and you’ll find yourself falling in love with them right away. It’s easy to fall in love with every part of this romance.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There’s romance, humour, friendship – all the ingredients of a nice, easy to read romance. The soul searching by Savannah, having to choose between her career, which she’s passionate about, the love she feels for Rhys, is so easy to relate to because it’s a common problem modern women face.
The descriptions descriptions of the Scottish Highlands added to the enjoyment.

I received this ARC from Tule Publishing Co. in exchange for an honest review. I have really loved the whole series by Kelsey McKnight. This is third and final book in the series taking place in the Scottish Highlands. Kelsey has created the most wonderful group of characters. I liked how the characters were introduced in book one and continued to be included in the storylines of the other two with each book featuring one of the couples. The author did a great job with this, so that we were able to keep up with all the characters the whole time.
Book three is the story of Savannah and Rhys. Savannah travels to Scotland for the wedding of her friend Rose. She went to college with Rose and Katie and is happy to be reunited for both a wedding and the birth of Katie’s baby. She hadn’t made it for Katie’s wedding because she’s a midwife and couldn’t get away. To get to the small town where Rose lives now, she has to take a train. She meets a guy named Rhys in her car and they hit it off. It was a surprise when she sees him again at the castle where Rose and her fiancé Lachlan live. Rhys is Lachlan’s cousin and also in the wedding.
Savannah had recently broken up with her longtime boyfriend Bill after she caught him having sex with his assistant. She doesn’t want to tell Rose or Katie so not to ruin the wedding. She does share with Rhys. Then Bill shows up for the wedding even though she had broken up with him. He was friends with Rose and Katie too and came to try to get Savannah to take him back. She was forced to tell Rose and Katie the story. Rhys offered to be her pretend boyfriend to get rid of Bill.
Savannah arrived at the castle early to help with wedding preparations and also to monitor Katie’s health. Rhys volunteers to show her around Scotland as her tour guide. This helped to get Bill to back off. Then Rhys told her he didn’t want to play games and wanted to date for real. They started to spend all their time together with lots of steamy romance scenes. Rhys took he to see all sorts of historical and better sites in Scotland. There is lots of chemistry and Savannah dreads having to leave Rhys and her friends to return to her life in America.
The story really kept my attention. I couldn’t put it down. I’m sad there isn’t a book 4. I highly recommend this Book and the series. I look forward to reading other books by Kelsey McKnight.
This was a great read with characters that are well developed and engaging and have chemistry. The storyline is well written and flows smoothly from page to page.

What Happens in the Castle by Kelsey McKnight is the third book in the What Happens Series. All of the stories have a Scottish setting or Scots as characters. It a contemporary romance series that has grown on me over the course of these books.
Savannah Adelson has come to Scotland to stay with a friend for a short while. She has taken on making her goals and dreams making them come true which are important but then meets a wonderful man. Rhys Mackinnon is a bit at loose ends while contemplating his future. Don’t think that he is a slacker, instead Rhys Mackinnon is near perfect. The story is light and fun including the faux relationship.
Each story is connected through friendships which are still significant to this story. Also the land, the people and the customs are so such a wonderful part of this story. It is like taking a book vacation.
An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
He’s a Scotsman through and through with the kilt and loch-side manor to prove it. Swooooon
Savannah has left her cheating college fiance in the dust for one of her friend’s wedding and the birth of another friend’s baby.
Rhys is growing restless but maybe the answer is the beautiful gal that’s sitting next to him on the train.
Beautifully writing, amazing characters and picture-perfect scenery of Scotland Highlands.

Book three in the What Happens series a well written story that once I started reading I was not putting down until I finished reading it. So far this is my favorite book of the series. Savannah Adelson and Scotsman Rhys Mackinnon’s story, what a great story! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved this book ,there wasn’t a chapter I didn’t like.Loved the characters Savannah and Rhys,Rose and Lachlan when they went into town for the ceilidh dance the best as Rhys shows off their best dance moves especially when he goes up against 3 other guys dance with swords.I honestly didn’t want this one to end as well as seeing this book series come to an end.
This is one of those stories that will drag you in so much that you think you’re really there. Oh how I hated it when I came to the end!
Rhys and Savannah live worlds and oceans apart but meet up at a friend’s wedding. It’s sweet how Rhys takes over as her private tour guide while Savannah lets down her walls since they’re fresh from her very recent breakup. You can tell that there is drama between friendships new and old plus an ex-boyfriend who won’t get out of the way. Loved hearing about all the wonders of Scotland and the wedding details. But it was the ending that really pulled at my heartstrings. cannot wait to read all the books in the series.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher in exchange for my volunteer review.
Let me start out by saying that I had read very little by this author prior to reading this book but what I had read I really enjoyed.
I liked this book right up to the point where Savannah started putting her job/career in New Jersey ahead of her happiness and the happiness of Rhys. Then, I was ready to throw in the towel. Since when are there no midwives in Scotland? So what if she would have to recertify? Chances are she would have had to recertify in the U.S. also if she ever moved to another state since the majority of the medical profession does not have a national licensing system in place. (At least there was none when I worked in the medical field.) That just seemed illogical and completely selfish on her part. Other than that this was a delightful book and I will check out the other books in this series. Rhys was an absolute dreamboat and any girl would love to have him for their own.

Savannah had a bad breakup with her college fiance Bill. Now shes off to scotland for the wedding and 1st birth of her two bestfreinds. She hasn’t told anyone about the split so as not to ruin the events. Rhys is on the train and Savannah flirts with him thinking its the last time she will see him. Turns out hes cousin of the groom and thinks she should tell others the truth. When Bill shows up Rhys decides to help her put on a show for Bill proving shes over him. Rhys is sweet romantic gentleman that sweeps Savannah off her feet. Now the show is real but she lives in America with a business of her own. Beautiful romantic getaway in Scotland with the perfect hero from a novel. Can this be real, can it really last?

A lighthearted romance and I especially loved the insight into the history and famous sights in Scotland. Savannah is going to Scotland to see her best friend Rose get married. Her other friend Katie also lives in Scotland and is married to Rose’s fiance’s cousin and is pregnant and Savannah is going to be her midwife. On the train to Nairns she meets a handsome friendly scot name Rhys, not knowing that he is also a cousin to the groom and she will see him again. She has just broken up with her cheating ex and not ready for another relationship, but she can’t resist Rhys. As he takes her around Scotland a serious relationship develops, but she has a business in New York and Rhys life is in Scotland. Is this just a holiday romance?
