They went on vacation. Not everyone made it back. The Palmers went to the lake for a week of fun in the sun. But Alex Palmer had an agenda. He wanted his brother to reconcile with their hypercompetitive father. He wanted his daughter to break up with her shady boyfriend. Most of all, Alex wanted them to be a family one more time before he faced his predicament at home.Evil incarnate and a brutal … home.
Evil incarnate and a brutal double murder shifted Alex’s focus from wants to needs. He needed to keep his family safe. He needed to find her. He needed to know what happened at the lake.
His pastor often said, “God won’t give you more than you can bear.”
This had nothing to do with God.

Really well written!
Did not enjoy.
Real life characters. Great read.
One of the most poorly written books I ever read!
Author is obsessed with poop! I figured out the killer less than halfway through the book.
So unrealistic and absurd!!!
Even though I often thought I knew who did it, something would crop up to make me doubt it. It is tragic how many lives were destroyed. And what I thought would be the end was not even close. My only complaint was that the same information about the series of events was repeated three times – i assume mainly to increase the number of pages.
Good story that kept me guessing about who done it. Author was noticeably shallow in the descriptions of certain characters. Could have been a real winner.
Weirdly written . Strange mix of religion in this book. Not overly realistic.
Misogynist. Female characters just cardboard props.
It’s a tear jerker and unpredictable it was great to read thanks.
I seldom don’t finish a book. Even rarer that I don’t read more than a little before putting it aside. This is one of those. Sorry. This is just trash.
I have already written a review about this great book
I couldn’t finish this book because of the language. I read for a while hoping that it wasn’t all that way, but just stopped reading this disgusting book. Don’t know what happened at the lake and don’t care
From the reviews I read prior to actually reading the book, it sounded like it would be very good. I was disappointed. I couldn’t get beyond the 5th or 6th chapter due to amateurish writing, gaps in dialogue, and juvenile-sounding characters. Sorry – really wanted to like the book.
It was just ok. A little too unrealistic to make it believable, but creepy, none the less. Too many storylines that didn’t intersect as seamlessly as I would have liked and the dialogue wasn’t very plausible.
Story kept me interested, but lacked character development. Plot was pretty good and suspenseful, but I was ready for the story to be completed.
Good idea, not very well written. Did have some twists.
Not much so I won’t review
This book was great. It was hard to pout down…and the ending…….I never saw that coming.
The plot was convoluted The number of characters was confusing.
Convaluted
