ColeRegrets, I have many in my life, but the top two regrets haunt me every day.One is the future I stole from my sister, Claire, because of a car accident I caused. The second? Grace.I was six years old when I met the love of my life. I didn’t know. How could I?After years of my life being filled with Grace, grace itself became my regret. My sister always said, “The past doesn’t always stay where … past doesn’t always stay where it should.” And damn, she was right.
My past is staring right at me. Golden eyes, slick blood-red hair, killer body, and a shy smile.
A smile that was once mine, and mine alone.
Grace now lives in the same apartment building, attends the same university, and is friends with my siblings. She came back into my life for a second time. I should walk away, just like she once had.
Regrets. Is it possible to regret the same person twice?
Grace
Living on an island, they always preach about the power of the sea. The hazards of the riptide.
But my riptide was too much for me to fight, and the current never slowed. So, I went away.
Away from him. Cole.
My shore.
Three years ago, strangers broke me with their hateful words.
They didn’t even know me.
But I was weak.
It’s true. People could destroy you with words—in this case, a sex tape. A single video managed to ruin my reputation—my self-worth—and my soul drowned along with it.
After my family isolated me, keeping me away from the aftermath, I left my safe-haven and decided to go to college. My soul knows he’s here, too.
It’s been three years, but now I’m stronger.

Why does blackmail ever work?
Sometimes I hate in books when someone is being blackmailed because it always seems to me that whatever the person is blackmailing the other person for (whether money or some other form of payment), that payment often seems way worse than whatever would happen if the blackmail was used. Especially considering the blackmailer would just keep coming back for more as long as he/she has the blackmail item.
Despite the fact that blackmail was used in this book, I really enjoyed it. I liked the first book which was about Claire and Jake and I had been waiting on this one. I am glad it lived up to my expectations. Claire, Cole and Liam are triplets and they are very close. What Do You Do (book 1) had Claire slowly losing her sight after a car accident with a drowsy trucker where she was thrown through the window. This book is Cole’s story about his relationship with Grace, a girl he has been in love with most of his life.
Cole felt betrayed by Grace after someone filmed a sex tape about them and Grace couldn’t handle the fallout and left town without saying anything. Now it is three years later and Cole has hardened his heart. He determined that he will never love again because it hurts too much.
Though when Grace moves into the off campus apartment across the hall from Cole and Liam, Cole has trouble fighting his attraction to her. The romance was sweet and sexy. I really liked all the characters. I got a very Fallen Crest feeling from Cole and Liam (they could have been Mason and Logan in disguise). Cole is the tough alpha man who broods a bit and is quick to use his fists, while Liam (like Logan Kade), is terrific comic relief.
Liam has some of his own relationship issues, though the book doesn’t go too deeply into them, I have a feeling that will be the next book. However, Liam has a good head on his shoulders and is always around for Cole when needed. He has an oddball sense of humor and is a good contrast to Cole’s surly alpha character.
There is a great conflict in the story that has to do with a rival of Grace’s named Ashley who wants Cole for herself and includes some bullying issues, but it isn’t a standard bully romance since the Hero isn’t the bully. I won’t say more than that, but it is a great part of the story. The books is fantastic overall and that epilogue was awesome! I was so happy that it wasn’t the standard “and they lived happily ever after” epilogue showing the couple getting married, being pregnant or after they have kids. It was much better. I can’t wait for Liam’s book now. He was so great in this story.
Cole and Grace have this beautiful once in a lifetime love that is hard to find and even more difficult to keep. They are true soulmates and it has been that way since they were six years old and became best friends. One day a horrible event took place that made Grace a target of bullying and it became so bad she felt as if she were drowning and didn’t know how to cope with all these emotions, so she pushes Cole away and this ends their perfect love. Cole being heartbroken swears he will never love again but fate has a different plan when it keeps shoving these two in each other paths again and again. Cole is still angry and harboring bad feelings towards Grace pushing him away and disappearing on him but he doesn’t realize she lost herself and was no good to anyone so she had to get away and relearn herself. I felt so bad for Grace not only was she bullied so badly, but she became so depressed and it all caused her to lose the love of her life. Now she is back and stronger than before and is determined to get Cole back and make things work and Cole thought he was over her but he realizes she never left his mind or heart. This was a beautiful read that teaches us our words towards others can hurt so badly and cause so many issues and we need find it in our hearts to love and put out positivity at all times.
Grace and Cole were best friends at six and boyfriend/girlfriend at 14 and all through high school – were each other’s firsts in everything. They went to separate schools but they spent every moment that they could together. Until something horrific happened to them both that Grace was unable to recover from. She retreated into herself and away from Cole. Grace left Cole and their plans behind and Cole was forced to move on without her. Three years later Grace is ready to face the world again and start college where she runs into her new neighbor, Cole. But he isn’t her same Cole – his heart was shattered and he isn’t ready to forgive the girl that broke it.
This was a really refreshing second chance/angry ex (I don’t want to say enemies because it wasn’t quite like that for me) book for me. I really enjoyed that there was the initial shock from Cole and his initial reaction to push Grace away because she devastated him but there wasn’t a prolonged display of hatred/anger for drama’s sake (the drama comes later for another reason altogether and not to say I don’t like that -just a refreshing take like I said on a second chance). This book really portrayed that the heart wants what the heart wants and once Cole realized that he jumped back in 100% even when forces were keeping him away from Grace. Because it isn’t about the regret of ever meeting someone and having your heart broken – it is about the regret of wasting time apart when you know that you belong together. Grace and Cole have a one of a kind of connection that was broken in a horrific way that pushed Grace to the brink of her mental stability. But when she came back she was so much stronger than she ever was. It made her strong enough to stand up to Cole when he was being a jerk face even though her heart was breaking all over again. And it made her strong enough to stand up and keep going when the unthinkable happens all over again. Grace is a warrior if I ever saw one and I was beyond proud of the backbone she developed. I am am in love with Grace and Cole and how they survived their trials. It wasn’t the typical road but it was theirs and I loved it.
I absolutely loved this emotional second chance romance. The second book in a series about a set of triplets who were in a horrible accident. Cole thought he found the love of his life at just six years old but unfortunately their first go around ends with a lot of pain and heartache. If you are a sucker for a second chance romance this one is definitely for you!
“What Do You Regret was a beautiful, lovely and heartbreaking second chance romance. The moment I read the title I knew my heart will be broken at some point and I wasn’t wrong. Cole and Grace had a special childhood relationship and it become love when they grew up but sadly some circumstances separated them. Time is just a number when it comes to true love. I highly recommend you this story. What Do You Regret is the kind of book that touches not only your heart but also your soul.”
First I have to say that I love K. Dosal Mclendon’s writing style. As I read her stories I feel like I’m reading lyrics and I can hear a melody in my head, it’s beautiful. Anyway, onto this book…
This story addressed such an important real life topic of cyber bullying, well bullying in general and took me on an emotional journey that I wasn’t expecting or prepared for. I enjoyed how the story was told from both the past and present. To experience the the pain, embarrassment and heartbreak through both Grace and Cole’s eyes was eyeopening. This is one of those stories that makes you question how you would handle things if you were in that situation, I love books that make you think!
I also loved that both Grace and Cole had the family support throughout their battles during both high school and again in college. The bond that Cole, Claire and Liam had from What Do You See? was amazing so I was happy that we got more of that sibling love, bickering, and support in this story as well. Another great story to add to my favorites for the year. I can’t wait to read Liam’s story because he happens to be my favorite triplet!
I love Cole and Grace! What Do You Regret may only be book two in the What Do You Do series but it’s my favorite! Cole and Grace’s story was emotional and raw, and a rollercoaster that I loved every second of. McLendon really played with my emotions with this book. I cried and cried and loved every second of doing so. She had to me hooked from the start. Second Chance romances always have that extra layer of emotions I think. They have all the pain and regret from what happened before they need to work through, and What Do You Regret is no different.
Cole and Grace’s story is something right out of real life. And I love that beyond words. I love the relatability of their story. I think that is one of the reasons it hit me so hard. K. Dosal McLendon hit on the fact that life is full of ups and downs and not everything goes the way we want. We all have regrets that we have to work through. And when we do it feels as if a weight you didn’t know you were carrying has been lifted and you’re able to move forward.
GAH! I can’t say enough how much everyone NEEDS to read this book! What Do You Regret? is beyond words amazing! K. Dosal McLendon delivered a well-written, captivating, emotional read that had me on the edge of my chair.
Grace is going to university after having three years of her life on a different path. Three years where she stayed away from her ex her high school sweetheart and three years without cyberspace. She wasn’t expecting to run into him, nor how cold he’d be and how much that would affect her.
Cole: she wasn’t supposed to be here. She had run away. She had abandoned their love, relationship and didn’t fight for them. He didn’t know her struggles and he didn’t care o so he reminded himself. She was his regret or was that his reaction to his broken heart.
When Grace is everywhere and she starts being tormented again, she has the chance to change her path…
I enjoyed this story, this challenge to let the person who broke your heart to heal it and make the changes to choose a new path then last time. Their chemistry, young love and playfulness. The sibling’ dynamic and the real life struggles each faced. It bites about Lucy and Liam, cannot wait to see his HEA come next.
K. Dosal McLendon does it again!! What Do You Regret is the second book in the What Do You series and though it can be read as a stand-alone book I’d recommend reading them in order for better understanding. This book touches on the sensitive topic of cyber bullying and bullying in life especially how detrimental it can be to teenagers.
What Do You Regret is a mixture of several romance tropes second chance romance/friends to lovers. The storyline goes between the past and present some but it does it in a way that is easy to understand and it flows well. You will love the characters and possibly may want to smack some sense into one *cough* Cole *cough*.
I give it a very enthusiastic 5 stars and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Whew! I didn’t think she could evoke even more emotions from me after What Do You See, but she did it again! Know that when you sit down to read her books that you are going to feel so much! Each book she writes tackles something that more people than you think have to face. This book shows the true impact of cyberbullying and it is heartbreaking but oh so eye-opening. Mclendon’s books are so much more than your everyday romance and I believe they would impact anyone who gives them the chance!
Now to the romance part. The couples in each book in this series are 100% destined and I have fallen in love with each one. Grace and Cole were childhood sweethearts torn apart by the awful bullies of the world. Like fate, they are thrown together again years later in college. But their second shot at love isn’t so easy. The past has really impacted these two and watching them slowly find each other again was beautiful.
I have trouble writing a review for Mclendon’s books without mentioning the word beautiful because that’s just how her books come together for me. They hold the love that’s so deep and meaningful and messages so gut-wrenching but inspirational. I couldn’t help but want to reach into the book and wrap Cole and Grace up in a huge hug. I just wanted to hold them and protect them forever. Their story was everything I needed and everything I think every romance reader needs, too.
What Do You Regret? is the second standalone in the What Do You series and it is just as good as the first book, What Do You See? Cole and Grace’s second chance romance was filled with pain and regret and hope that had me glued to my kindle from start to finish. There was no denying the connection between #Crace with the amount of chemistry and passion between them. I adore the characters that K. Dosal McLendon has created and can’t help but be a little impatient to get my hands on Liam’s book.
This is one of the books that I fell behind on reviewing. And I hate saying that because I don’t like being behind, at all. But I’ve now read it twice and it was just as amazing the second time as it was the first.
What Do You Regret? is the story of Cole and Grace. Friends from a young age, turned lovers, turned regrets. When a sex tape turns a riptide into a full tropical storm, their world is turned upside down. Grace took the brunt of the hashing, leaving Cole safe from what was happening. She sheltered him from what it was doing to her, but ultimately lost him.
When life brings them together years later in college, the regret is just as strong as it was before. For Cole, it’s regret of ever loving Grace. For Grace, it’s regret over everything. The chemistry between them is too strong to ignore for them both. With their past catching up to them faster than they can figure it out, they must determine is the regret is something they can let go of or not.
This book was everything I love about a romance novel. It kept me wanting more, kept me intrigued, had me doing re-reads, highlighting parts. The dynamic between the characters is so real and raw that you can’t help but think you are there with them, living all the moments and experiencing all of the emotions. Not many authors can create such a strong dynamic but this author does.
If you haven’t read this yet, I highly suggest it. In fact, go back and read the first in the What Do You series with What Do You See and then come to Cole’s book.
I am so looking forward to Liam’s book and I can’t wait to find out what happens with him and his HEA.
5 beautiful amazing stars for this one!
An ARC was provided by the author.
This book is without a doubt emotional. It talks about issues that are very prominent in our society.
Cyber bullying is a very hard, real thing that lots of people experience daily but I did like the way the author handled it in this book.
Cole and Grace as kids were inseparable, as teens the friendship turned into a relationship.
Later on things happened, a sex tape was involved, and the two grew apart.
Cole was a great hero. Even in his anger and rage, he was always there looking over Grace.
Grace was also a relatable character but at times, I wished she had more backbone. And given her family’s money, status, I believed she could have done more to find out who leaked the video.
All in all, it was a wonderful book with a strong, positive message.
Captivating Follow-Up Novel with Serious Messages

“Share my body and my mind with you
That’s all over now
Did what I had to do
‘Cause you’re so far past me now
[…] Shared my body and my mind with you
That’s all over now
I did what I had to do
I could see you leaving now.”
Cruel World – Lana Del Rey
This is my second review of a K. Dosal McLendon book and I’m pleased to state that this book managed to top What Do You See?
What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Grace has moved on from the sex tape leak that ruined her life and she’s trying to rebuild her life. After a rough three-year break that she spent away from everything and everyone, she decides to go to university. Cole attends the same university and seeing as they ended their relationship badly, there are some heavy unresolved issues that these two need to handle.
Cole lives with regrets. His POVs are a thing of beauty, especially when he describes what exactly he regrets in his life so far. I enjoyed seeing life through his eyes. My man is OCD and I totally ship it. He’s goals. I wish I had the mind and energy to clean up after another person’s mess like he does (no further spoilers here, I’m referring to something that occurs in the first chapters). The sibling dynamic made a strong comeback. The more I read of these triplets, the more I love them. I’m eager to see what will happen in book 3. Liam showed a vulnerable side and it was refreshing to see how Cole reacted to it. Cole evolves in this book and in the first part of the book, there a little bad boy inside of him that’s trying to jump out… *smirk smirk*.
I have to give props for the middle part of the book. Cole and Grace’s relationship had me invested. They’re both very likeable, but they also have their flaws. Grace detaches herself from people and deals with her problems on her own, contrasting the triplets who are heavily intertwined. The release of her sex tape truly broke her, but she didn’t stay down. I love seeing those sorts of characters. This evil witch has bone to pick with Mr. Cole. Here, I actually get the boy/girl aspect that’s often mentioned in the What Do You? Series. Grace, as THE GIRL, spends almost all of the book dealing with the sex tape while THE GUY doesn’t comprehend the complexity of the issue right away. He barely even thinks about it, in my opinion. The evil witch in me wanted to confront Mr. Cole about it. I’m not going to rant about this any further because Cole’s a stand-up guy who’s actually pretty funny, too.
What I learned from this book is that you shouldn’t let anybody get you down and OPEN UP TO THE PEOPLE WHO CARE THE MOST ABOUT YOU. Even if you’re not blood-related. If you hold it in, it’ll just eat you up from the inside.
There will be a third book in the series. There’s no date or name yet, but I’m excited to find out what happens next.
What Do You Regret? is a good emotional read. It’s book two in the What Do You series but it can be read as a standalone. Each book covers a Raynold triplet. Cole, Claire, and Liam are super close siblings and they look out for each other. This book is Cole’s story. Grace and Cole have a past that didn’t end well. Cole and Grace’s paths cross again and the connection is still there. Both try to fight the connection but they slowly reconnect. I loved how Cole wore his heart on his sleeve but I was a little disappointed in Grace at some points. Overall this one is good read.
Another good read by K. Dosal McLendon! I only gave this one four stars (4.5 if possible) just because I felt a little spoiled by her first book! It was great, fantastic, and right out of the gates grabbed me, where this one lagged a bit early on. I also felt that this one was a little more predictable than the first one, which were the reasons I didn’t give it 5 Stars, but it’s a great read, nonetheless! You should definitely grab this one if you like a sweet and sexy read!
Must read!! Intensely, amazing 5 star read! It will grip your emotions and will hold on tight to them in a beautiful way! Loved this just like the first book! Absolutely love Cole & Grace’s story. Grips you from the first chapter and will make you want more and more.
Aahh I seriously love this series! I absolutely adored book 1 and have been waiting for book 2.
I loved Cole and needed to know more about him, find out what had happened to make him the way he was. To finally get the whole story of his time with Grace. Which I just loved how he fell for her when they were just 6 years old. It is such a sweet love story they have.
Grace was such a sweetheart. I loved her and her heart that she wears on her sleeve. It just broke me to read what she went through in high school and how she turned against herself and let others words get to her. But the woman she turns into from that incident is incredible. She could have turned against herself again but she battled through it like a boss!
I can’t wait for Liam’s book and hope to get a preview soon hehe.
5⃣
recommendation!
The second book in this series and one I am absolutely and completely in love with so much. These two were amazing and great together. Really couldn’t put down and can’t wait for more by this author.
What Do You Regret is the second book from the What Do You series.
Both books so far in the series creates an environment where you are self reflecting. This book caused me to pause often to think what would I do in this situation, how would I feel, what would I feel, and etc.
WDYR also is an amazing platform for Cyber Bullying. You see the ‘consequence’ of the actions of others. You feel the pain. You see the lasting effects. You see the destruction. It hurts at times to read this. I think that is what makes this book so real. You connect on some level with our Characters. You connect with the fact that you should be enough to help someone when they are at their lowest, but then you turn out you weren’t. You can connect with the feeling of worthlessness.
While both characters (Cole and Grace) struggled with their own battles, you felt their connection to each other. You knew they still cared so much for each other. It kinda makes you consider the concept of soulmates. These two went through so many changes, and will still go through so many changes together.
I also adored that we were able to see how strong the connection was with the first couple of the series Claire and Jake. I just LOVE JAKE! I did struggle to connect with Cole because he was so different from Jake. But once you understood all the hurt that he went through, I connected with him more. Then you begin to see all the little things he would still do for Grace even though he regretted her.
I was not expecting ‘new’ obstacles. That while before it may have tore them apart….are they strong enough for the trails they face this time?
Ultimately I love this story because it is about triumph over those who want nothing more than to tear you down. To take away your happiness. It is about finding that one who just get you and doing all that you can to keep them, but mostly understand and support them. It is about growth, and love.
