ColeRegrets, I have many in my life, but the top two regrets haunt me every day.One is the future I stole from my sister, Claire, because of a car accident I caused. The second? Grace.I was six years old when I met the love of my life. I didn’t know. How could I?After years of my life being filled with Grace, grace itself became my regret. My sister always said, “The past doesn’t always stay where … past doesn’t always stay where it should.” And damn, she was right.
My past is staring right at me. Golden eyes, slick blood-red hair, killer body, and a shy smile.
A smile that was once mine, and mine alone.
Grace now lives in the same apartment building, attends the same university, and is friends with my siblings. She came back into my life for a second time. I should walk away, just like she once had.
Regrets. Is it possible to regret the same person twice?
Grace
Living on an island, they always preach about the power of the sea. The hazards of the riptide.
But my riptide was too much for me to fight, and the current never slowed. So, I went away.
Away from him. Cole.
My shore.
Three years ago, strangers broke me with their hateful words.
They didn’t even know me.
But I was weak.
It’s true. People could destroy you with words—in this case, a sex tape. A single video managed to ruin my reputation—my self-worth—and my soul drowned along with it.
After my family isolated me, keeping me away from the aftermath, I left my safe-haven and decided to go to college. My soul knows he’s here, too.
It’s been three years, but now I’m stronger.

I absolutely adore K. Dosal McLendon’s books. Her stories are always MORE than just simple romance. What Do You Regret? left me speechless. The way that she writes with such intensity, makes you feel every word. She always creates a story that has a message, and I really felt that in this book. It was a unique and beautiful journey of self discovery, survival, self reflection and love. This story will tug at your heart strings like no other book that you’ve read. I fell in love with Grace and Cole, and was actively invested in them. Their story was difficult at times, but also so beautiful and heartfelt with the once in a lifetime type of romance that springs to life. Everything about this story held me completely captivated. From the second chance romance feels, to the deeper, more raw and poignant emotional issues, this book has a little bit of everything, and that’s what makes it a must read. What Do You Regret? is another fantastic gem from K. Dosal McLendon that I cannot recommend enough.
This book y’all! Grace and Cole. This book was sweet, and so freakin hot too. Cole and Grace’s story was quite different from the authors first book. She has really grown in her writing so much in such a short time, and she’s here to give readers exactly what they are looking for in a NA book.
Grace and Cole met at six years old. So really they were inevitable from the get go. They grew from childhood friends to childhood sweethearts and discovered all their firsts together. Then when they were seventeen, something so devastating and heartbreaking happens to Grace. I’m not giving anything away, it says it right in the blurb. Grace and Cole unknowingly had a tape released of them having sex. Now, afterwards Grace was tormented. Ridiculed to the point of thinking dangerous thoughts. So her parents sent her away, for her own mental health, she needed to go to her grandpas and be electronic and internet free. This devastated Cole and left him broken-hearted and angry.
When Grace shows up to the same college years later, Cole decided to give her a taste of her own medicine and ignore her. It was a little hard to read at first. He was borderline cruel. He wasn’t offering to get back together only offering drunken hookups, but deep down he didn’t have it in him to stick with that long term. He was by nature a good guy, even when he didn’t want to act like it. Grace was pretending she was tougher than she was for Cole, to put on a front. But I think she was always scared of going through her past again.
The impact of something like cyber bullying is really something we all know about , but most people generally don’t put much thought into it. That is unless you or someone you know is a victim. This book really made me think long and hard about the long term effects, the deep down emotional scars and damage that it does to a young girl. Being a mom of two teenage girl I am glad to have something to invoke such thoughts into this serious subject. It reminds me that it can happen to anyone, any race and social class. It reminds me to talk to my daughters about what they put online, what they share with others. How it can have long term effects.
This book was great because while cyberbullying was a huge part of this book, it wasn’t everything. This was still Cole and Grace’s love story. It was still beautiful and funny, and sweet and angsty. Overall I loved this story. It was an amazing follow up to her first story and I can wait for more from all my favorites that I have fallen for. I know I myself am hoping for Liam and Vanessa personally!
My cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book!
-This book is full of drama and angst, sweetness and so much love. I love all these characters and can’t wait for more.
-OMG! So if you read Claire and Jake’s story I will tell you this is way hotter in terms of love scenes. Cole is a playboy who is deliciously Alpha AF!!
Cliffhanger Warning-No cliffhanger! HEA!
“She had red hair and an ocean in her eyes. I’ll either drown or catch fire for the second time.”
I could not wait for Cole and Grace’s story after seeing a snippet of their story in What Do You See?. I feel like my over excitement let me down because I feel like this story is missing something but I can’t put my finger on it.
Don’t get me wrong the story drew me in with all the emotion and I was happy with how it played out and ended! This is another wonderful story from this author and I cannot wait to read more from her in the future
Here are a few of my favorite quotes from the story:
“I didn’t know why I had been searching for her then. But now, as I look back, it all made sense. It has always been her.”
“the moment he walked away without a glance back, I knew we were further apart than just the ocean.”
“A memory is a gift life gives you of a time you’ve once forgotten.”
You won’t regret reading Cole and Grace’s story just be aware it could be a trigger for some as it deals with bullying and cyber bullying. You go through the heartbreak to get to the happily ever after with this one though!
Once again this author has delivered a beautifully written, emotional story that tugs on your heart strings and addresses the important issue of bullying, choices and facing your regrets.
Most importantly though it shows a way that you can over come the consequences and ripple effects of these things and still find a HEA !
I love the characters in this series ! The triplets are so lovable and make great friends to those they care about . They are fun and full of life even if they are facing heavy issues .
This book is based on Cole and his soul mate how they found each other as kids but then lost each other due to severe bullying.
Together their chemistry is scorching . She’s his fire and he’s her shore .
I definately recommend reading !
Also while you probably don’t have to read the first book of the series “what do you see” for the best understanding of the family dynamic and relationship between the triplets Id recommend you do . (Plus it’s an awesome book to read !)
I can’t wait to read liams book when IT
Comes out !
I thought What Do You See? left me an emotional wreck, but What Do You Regret? DESTROYED ME! This story broke my heart, but it slowly mended it back together. I was yelling at the characters so many times. I was so invested in this story. I knew from the moment I met Cole that I would fall in love with him and I definitely did. Maybe even more so after reading this book.
Cole and Grace’s story was heartbreaking, emotional and truly beautiful. I loved their relationship, both the good and the bad. There is so much chemistry between the two of them, even after spending three years apart. Though, their relationship came to an abrupt in.
This is a romance, however, there is also a much bigger message. The effects of cyberbullying. It’s ugly, it can ruin people’s lives forever and so much more. I felt that the subject was handled very well and give the full picture of how it can change someone’s life.
Grace is such a strong female character. She has overcome so much, but has come out stronger. She is even stronger than she realizes. I loved Cole and how supportive he was when it came to Grace and the effort, he put in to protect her, though some of his plans were a little questionable.
What Do You Regret? is a beautifully written, emotional story. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this one!
I‘ve been waiting impatiently for Cole and Grace‘s story and Kassandra did not disappoint me. Her writing is amazing just like in her first novel.
Cole is just one of the best bookboyfriends you can think of.
The book starts of with a cold hearted Cole meeting the love of his life, who broke his heart years ago, again. During the course of the book whe get a few glimpses of what happens when the sextape of Grace and Cole leaked and how both of them dealt with the outcome of that.
This story show‘s you that it doesn‘t matter how old you are you can get bullied and that love can conquer it all even in the darkest times of your life.
I really enjoyed this story and the characters and I can‘t wait for Kassandras next book. She‘s a talented writer and her stories are worth reading because they aren‘t your „normal“ YA/NA Romance books.
WDYR is one of my top reads for 2019. Grab the tissues!! Mclendon gets you right in the feels with Cole and Grace. I am so unbelievably attached to these characters. This book dives head first into the hell pit of cyber bullying. Soul gripping tragedy, young love and a HEA that will leave you feeling complete and whole again. Beautifully written five stars!!!
Cole was six years old when he met the love of his life, and at seventeen he lost her. The girl with the fiery red hair caught his eye from the first time he saw her, and Grace was just as captivated by Cole. What started off as a friendship blossomed into a love for the ages. One night, things changed and the bullying that Grace endured was too much to handle. In order to keep Grace from the cyber bullies, her family isolated her, and she never got to say goodbye to Cole, leaving him heartbroken and wondering why. Now three years later, Cole wants nothing to do with Grace, or so he thinks. However life has a way of making things work, and when Grace ends up across the hall she becomes hard to ignore. Past feelings never went away, but when a threat from the past becomes a part of their present, are Cole and Grace strong enough to withstand it?
K. Dosal McLendon is just amazing, absolutely amazing. This book was filled with angst, drama, happiness, sadness, fear, you name it this book has it. This book shows us that bullying truly has no age limit, and unfortunately with social media and phones, keyboard warriors (the people who bully behind the screen) are more prevalent than people realize. ‘What Do You Regret?’ isn’t just a story about how to overcome and heal from bullies, it’s also a beautiful love story, and a story about family sticking together. Cole, Liam, and Claire have such a special bond, and the love between Grace and Cole is undeniable. This was such a beautiful book, and one that I had a hard time putting down. Hands down, one of my favorite reads of 2019.
While reading this I had to make a note of all the feelings I was feeling. There were so many emotions I went through while reading. I cried, I awwwwed, I cursed, I oh no..ed, I swooned, and I cheered. This book was phenomenal. I love how K brought attention to the mental health of people who are bullied. I wish there were more books like this. I felt so connected to Grace! I loved her strength to just let the stuff roll off her shoulders and didn’t let anyone bring her down. Cole was a jerk at first then I totally fell on love with him. And the little backstory to how they met was so cute!!! There were some twists in this story I didn’t even know what was going to happen until it happened! Thank you K for another fabulous book!!
What Do You Regret l regret nothing l loved this sweet romance but not liking the pain and hurt that Grace endured! Grace and Cole are so well suited together they have been through so much but make it to the end! So loving these triplets Claire was beautiful in book1 but Liam is all kinds of cheeky and bad can’t wait for his story hopefully with a certain someone!
WOW! That was a very intense and emotional story.
I loved it and I really needed it
This heartbreaking story describes the consequences of cyberbullying at school but also throughout the adult life.
“Bullying has no age limit”
I don’t think many people realize how serious the consequences are and how often it happens every day.
How destructive that can affect someone’s life.
But this book is also a beautiful story about love that can survive all difficulties and separations.
Can you meet the love of your life at the age of six?
When you are Cole, then yes you can. He was drawn to her from the first second he saw her and stayed in love with her despite all circumstances forever. Grace and Cole’s story is a beautiful example for a real soulmates.
This book is so never-ending nerve-wracking, sad, emotional, but also so amazingly beautiful story you can’t stop reading it.
This book makes you think about regret in complete another light.
What do you regret?
I hope you don’t regret anything, because that means that whatever you did or didn’t do, you lived your life with your full heart, and that’s all you can do.
I recommend this amazing book to everyone, because trust me you need it too
