Now she’s a grown-up, bossy mother of three in the middle of a nasty divorce and her beloved sister Elisabeth isn’t speaking to her.
This is her life but not as she knows it.

This book was a little slow to begin with but then picked up as we got a glimpse into Alice’s life. After losing her memory, she finds it hard to understand that she not only has three children, but she is also getting a divorce and has a new boyfriend. The last thing she remembers is being in love with her husband, happy, and pregnant with their first child. Ends up being a pretty funny read.
I read What Alice Forgot when I was on vacation a few weeks ago, and at first I was like OH NO AMNESIA PLOT LINE THIS IS SO TERRIBLE AND OVERDONE AND WHAT IS HAPPENING and then as slowly the secrets unfolded I was super into it. Totally loved Alice by the end and I think the amnesia aspect worked nicely.
Any suggestions on which Liane Moriarty book I should read next?
Seconding Halli that Moriarty (heh) writes extremely fun tales with interesting characters. She is very binge-able (reminds me vaguely of Shonda Rhimes, possibly because scandalous happenings and fun murder). This was one of my favorites, centering around a woman who looses her memory of the last ten years , thus forgetting 1) the love of her life basically hates her 2) she has CHILDREN and 3) she is almost 40, ie definitely no longer eligible for trips to Ibiza.
I was not madly in love with this book. The premise is good, the writing is good, but something about the book just annoyed me. And I thought it was too long.
I LOVED this book. The plot device and the characters were addictive. I didn’t want it to end. Her books are like dessert to me. Not great literature, but so much fun to read. This was more thought provoking than some of the others
Entertaining!
Love to see this one made into a movie
I was thinking about this book long after I finished the book. How fast a life can completely change. Read it!
Love all her books, great characters
Really love all Liane Moriarty books
Liane Moriarty’s books are so readable. Every one of her books that I’ve read have gripped me from the beginning to end and I have enjoyed every one of them.
This book was different from anything I’ve read in years. It actually made me think about how we take for granted so much about our lives and the way that our perspectives change over time. We all need to slow down and remember what’s truly important in our relationships. Thank you for a great read!
What if you could stary over with a clean slate of your critiques and habits long-established along the people in your life? This thought-provoking, funny and sweet story will inspire you to think about how you see your loved ones and/or former loved ones. I always learn something valuable about others and myself when I read Liane Moriarty, and this quick read is no exception.
It was the first book I read by the author, have read every one of her books since that first one.
Easy read. She gets to reinvent herself. Character wasn’t that believable but I still enjoyed the book
A fun, funny book. Loved Alice and loved watching her learn to love herself and the world she’s in.
I had high hopes for this book, it was easy to ready and enjoyable but not as great as Big Little Lies.
