Weston was at an impasse in his life, after hearing about his unknown daughter, who’d already been adopted by another family. Only the father had since passed away… So … accepting the mission to track down the missing, blind-in-one-eye, limping war dog named Shambhala—in Alaska—was exactly where he needed to be to sort out this other issue in his life. Finding the dog turned out to be easier than … than Weston had expected, but sorting out how and why this dog’s owner’s had been murdered was something else again.
Now a widower, Danielle knew her daughter also needed a father, so she’d contacted Weston, not sure if he even knew of the baby’s existence. When he said he was on the way, she was concerned at what she’d started and that emotion then turned to terror when Sari’s birth mother showed up at Danielle’s doorstep, looking for her daughter again.
Things turn ugly when Weston’s war dog investigation impacts his daughter’s life and her new mother. He must do something, or everything he’s finally found will be lost.

(4.5) Thank you for a read that took me to Alaska, that made smile with the banter between Weston (our wounded warrior) and Daniela (widow). Daniela is the adopted mom of a daughter Weston didn’t know about till after the fact. What a twist. My heart went out to Shambhala, the wounded war dog, and reveled in his enduring strength and love for Sari. This tale encompasses an intriguing mystery, or two with twists and turns. The strength of Daniela , what all she has been through and her willingness to reach out to Weston spoke volumes. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and thank Dale Mayer and Booksprout for the arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Weston accept the job to go to Alaska and try to find out what happened with the War Dog Shambhala. He especially wanted the Alaskan job because he had found out that a one night stand with Angel created a baby girl who Angel gave up for adoption without ever consulting him. The adoptive mother has contacted him in the hope that he would become a part of the babies life. While Weston hunts for Shambhala he is also trying to get know his baby girl and her adoptive mother Daniela who has recently become a widow. Greg, Grant and Ginger are a secondary story with the book as Ginger and her husband had custody of Shambhala but are found dead. Weston begins wondering what was the cause of the car accident and which of the twins survived. Greg or Grant.
Although this is a stand alone book it is best to read the Maverick series in order.

Lots of action on both fronts in this exciting read, seemingly unrelated plot lines one to do with his daughter the other to do with the K9. Finding out he was a dad after the baby girl had been adopted was a shock and a massive blow, being then contacted by the adoptive mother threw his thoughts and emotions into turmoil. Being given the chance to find this missing K9 in the very place he needed to go to see his daughter was just fate. Finding the dog was fairly easy but the aftermath throws threats and an intriguing tale and path to follow. Far more to this story than first appears and it twists and turns all the way through. Sari and Shambala are so adorable and cute but still the dog has her training and instinctively knows when that training is needed to keep her little human safe, nothing is coming between them. Daniella is strong and has been through so much but her baby girl comes first and she senses that Sari needs her dad in the picture, even though unsure quite how that will work or even if she will ultimately lose these precious baby. Such a wonderful read, one you can get gripped by and lose your heart too.
I really enjoyed reading WESTON .
Weston Thurlow volunteers to go to Alaska to search for Shambhala a missing war dog that has a missing limb and is blind in one eye . He also needs to see a daughter he never knew he had till her adopted mother contacted him . He needs to sort it all out . Upon arrival Daniela Rodgers the woman who adopted his daughter and is now a widow meets him at airport and welcomes him . As Weston spends time with Daniela and his daughter he finds Shambhala and unfortunately danger . Mean while Daniela keeps receiving threatening calls from the birth mother .
While Weston and Daniela grow closer so does danger . This story is fantastic . It is full of suspense and intrigue , very action packed . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

Weston a vet, bored not sure what he wants in life now asks to go to Alaska to look for a war dog but to also met his daughter. A daughter he never knew he had, a result from a one night stand and his daughter was adopted out and now her new Mum wants to met him.
Daniela thought when she and her husband adopted little Sari her life was perfect. 18 months later, her husband dead and threats from Sari birth mother she is not sure what to do. Daniela pushes Weston to met his daughter and finds out he didn’t know about her. Weston is in Alaska to look for a dog which he finds and watches the bond grow between Sari and the dog Shambhala while trying to find the best home for Shambhala.
The case between Shambhala old owners, his daughter , his ex and a new relationship Weston is on a wide ride which takes you along too. A very nice read.
Well Weston found more than he bargained for when he went to Alaska in search of the missing K9. A daughter he knew nothing about until a few months ago was also on his to do list. He discovered much more including murder, blackmail and mystery.
How the story unfolded was written with great skill and was very entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend It.
This is another great read about a war dog and a wounded vet. Weston volunteers to go to Alaska where he has unfinished business to locate this dog and meet the daughter he never knew he had. Widow Daniela is the adopted mother and is happy for Weston to get to know is daughter. Of course nothing is ever easy and there is a lot of danger heat and HEA.
