Weston was at an impasse in his life, after hearing about his unknown daughter, who’d already been adopted by another family. Only the father had since passed away… So … accepting the mission to track down the missing, blind-in-one-eye, limping war dog named Shambhala—in Alaska—was exactly where he needed to be to sort out this other issue in his life. Finding the dog turned out to be easier than … than Weston had expected, but sorting out how and why this dog’s owner’s had been murdered was something else again.
Now a widower, Danielle knew her daughter also needed a father, so she’d contacted Weston, not sure if he even knew of the baby’s existence. When he said he was on the way, she was concerned at what she’d started and that emotion then turned to terror when Sari’s birth mother showed up at Danielle’s doorstep, looking for her daughter again.
Things turn ugly when Weston’s war dog investigation impacts his daughter’s life and her new mother. He must do something, or everything he’s finally found will be lost.

Such an amazing and emotional read. A beautiful story that pulls at your heart. Weston is so strong willed you cant help but fall in love. Follow Weston on a journey of a lifetime. Family and love seems to find you.
I adore this series and this one definitely one of my favorite…I love everything about this book, from the actions to the sweet adorable little accidental family and an amazing K9 dogs which is the star in this book.
A fast-paced suspense read with crazy cases in it, the mystery and suspense is always around the corner, makes me expecting something bad to happen all the time. The sweetness of the relationship between Weston and Danielle and Sari is so adorable, it’s like they’re a family from long time ago.
Great story, loveable characters, perfect portions of actions between sweetness, totally recommended this book for suspense romance lovers.
Fantastic!
Wow! This one gets twisty right away! Weston travels to Anchorage, Alaska and gets nose deep in the details surrounding his daughter, the birth mother, the adoptive mother and the war dog he came to find. The longer he is there, the more weird things happen.
Weston finds the war dog, Shambhala, roaming around behind the feed store parking lot. It doesn’t take much effort to capture her and assess her overall condition. Food and attention is the first on the list of her needs but a place to stay is a close second.
Suspected murder turns to the real thing, Daniela is receiving threats to have her adopted daughter, Sari taken from her and young Sari is instantly in love with Shambhala, the three- legged, one-eyed, highly trained, war dog!
I love how Weston jumps right in to figure out what’s going on with both the dog’s situation and Sari’s adoption. He doesn’t know things will blow up into a bigger mess as more questions are asked than answered.
A very heartwarming relationship between Sari and Shambhala, who is very protective of the toddler. There is a variety of emotions between Weston and Daniela along with Daniela’s fear of losing Sari to her birth mother, Angel. Suspicious events combine when unknown details of Sari’s adoption are revealed and Shambhala’s owners are dead. Twists and turns, mysterious gunfire, harassing phone calls, murders all make for a fast-paced read with emotional subjects. There is a sweet satisfaction when Weston and Daniela find their chemistry is off the charts despite all that is happening. Great story, very engaging and a must read all in one sitting!
A total, utter must read. It had everything I wanted – angst and drama, romance and sexy times, sweet moments and suspense with endearing characters that will make you feel all the feels as they get to their HEA. Also the scenes are so colorfully descriptive that makes the storyline just come to life before your eyes. I loved every word of this story, it was just perfection and I devoured it all in one day. My favourite book of this series. Can’t wait to read more from this series or any suspense series by this spectacular and very talented author. Always has me coming back for more. This is the 8th book in the K-9 series. The story starts with Weston having an internal struggle about whether he should go to Alaska to meet his 18-month old daughter. He didn’t know that he had a daughter until she was adopted and now he doesn’t know if he’s ready to be a father. When he gets the chance to go to Alaska to check on a retired K-9, he jumps at the chance. The story has the expected murder mystery, but the star of the show is Sari, Weston’s daughter and Shambhala the dog that he was sent to check on. There was an instant connection between the girl and the dog. At one point Daniela, Sari’s adopted mother is concerned that Shambhala might turn into a dangerous gaurd dog. Weston seeing how they bonded, assures Daniela that if she did turn into a guard dog she would protect Sari with his life. At the end of the book we see Shambhala in action. This was more than a murder mystery, it was a love story between Sari. Shambhala, Daniela, and Weston.

A great addition to the missing K-9series. Weston is sent to Alaska to find a missing K-9 and his daughter he didn’t know about. A tender story of an adoptive loving mother who accepts Weston’s help. Your heart will go out for this K-9 with one leg and one eye. No matter what the disability one can overcome.
Weston has recently found out that he’s a father as a result of a one night stand. So when he has the opportunity to go to Alaska to search for a missing K9 dog, it doesn’t take him long to make up his mind as he will also be able to meet his daughter.
Daniela is the woman who has adopted Sari, Weston’s daughter. She’s been through a lot with her husband having found out he had cancer after they had adopted Sari, so Daniela has had a lot to deal with.
While Weston is able to find Shambhala pretty quickly, the circumstances of his owners’ death lead to a mystery that Weston can’t let go. And then the birth mother comes back into the scene. There are a number of twists and turns along with way in this story, along with an attraction that develops between Weston and Daniela. Loved the almost instant protectiveness of Shambhala for Sari.
I love this series. I liked Badger and his mean in the series before and I really like how they are helping out these new men in not only finding the K9 left over from the military but also love. Whose the daddy???? Yep that would be Weston. For a baby he knew nothing about and was adopted. Sari was so cute a a character and became even more adorable once the dog was introduced. Danielle is still dealing with the death of her husband, his infidelity and the way he blew their money before his death. As Weston and Danelle, along with Sari, navigate a new life a troublesome past comes back wanting her daughter. There was so much going on in this book and I didn’t want it to end. It kept my interest so much. Can’t wait to read the rest of the books.
Weston is a wounded vet who ask to help with the K-9 search and there is a missing K-9 in Alaska where he has been told that he has a daughter he never knew about that was adopted. The adopted mother Daniela’s is willing to let him get to know his daughter while he searches for Shambhala. There is danger involved, as well as HEA.

No matter how many books this author writes in a series, they never get old. Always something different. I’m extremely partial to her what I call her comeback Seals. No matter how they get hurt or how bad they are hurt, they don’t stay down. They get back up and keep going. As a huge animal lover, I love how the war dogs take precedent and all means necessary are taken to make sure the dogs are OK and have a good life.
Loved Weston and Daniela together, their story was well written and had some interesting plot twists. He found the dog pretty quickly, but ran into other problems that kept him chasing solutions. I was happy the two of them fell for each other and were able to create their happy little family.

Weston heads to Alaska to track down the K-9 Shambhala and meet his daughter that he didn’t know about. Sari has been adopted by Daniela and her now deceased husband Charlie. Weston gets into the thick of things with two homesteaders murdered, a lawyer killed and his ex resurfacing to make matters even worse. Finding the K-9 and his budding relationship with Daniela are thrown in the mix also. It’s a whirlwind story and you have no idea how it’s going to play out until the end. A great read. This is the 8th book in The K9 Files series, Weston goes to Alaska to look for a missing K9 military dog, he has another reason to go as well, to meet his daughter he never knew about that was adopted to a woman who’s husband has recently passed away.
Nothing is ever easy for these military men, they have life changing decisions to make as well as whatever drama and action surrounds the missing dogs.
This book is well-written and fast-paced, entertaining and packed with drama, emotion and intrigue.
Book 8 of The K9 Files 🙂
Weston is heading to Alaska to try and find retired war dog Shambhala. His mission isn’t just for Shambhala though.. He recently found out that a one night stand resulted in a pregnancy, and he has a daughter.
Daniela is the woman that adopted Sari, and now that she’s contacted Weston, she’s having second thoughts. What if he decides to fight the adoption? She has bigger worries than Weston though.
Shambhala is found and Weston wants to know why the person that adopted him through the program is dead.
There are a lot more twists to this story, but I’m not going to share spoilers lol.
This series is so addicting, and although they can be read as standalones.. each one is so good, starting from the beginning gives you more depth to the larger picture.
Absolutely a 5 star read!
This was a great story with just enough suspense. Weston and Danielle are characters you can root for.

Weston Thurlow is at an impasse in life, so having heard about an unknown daughter he has who has been adopted to another family who then lost the father he takes a wag dogs mission to Alaska to kill two birds with one stone – see his daughter and find Shambhala the dog. Widower Danielle knows her daughter Sari needs a father so she has reached out to Weston to ensure that he meets her, but when the birth mother now insists she wants her back. Things get ugly when the dog investigation impacts his daughter Sari and Danielle – he needs to sort out what is going on before everything he has finally found is lost.
This was a dramatic story with many layers to dig through on both the emotional and factual side of things as Westom=navigated the missing dog, dead new owner and mystery of the mother of his child making demands. Somehow he needs to work out if it is all connected and how before it is too late for them all. Well written, easy to read and very enjoyable.
Weston agreed to go to Alaska to look for a retired K-9, Shambhala, who was reported missing on a follow up visit after his adoption. The dog was picked up but the owners were not heard from after the arrival. This was not the only reason Weston wanted to visit Alaska as he had also found he had a daughter there. Apparently a one night stand was more than that and the woman chose not to tell him until after his daughter was born and the adoption was completed. The adoptive mom has just lost her husband and is hoping Weston will fill in the loss of a dad for Sari. She feels Sari (whom is less than 18 months but very aware) misses her adoptive dad. Obviously there is a lot going on as Weston recovers from his injuries and heads for Alaska and it gets even more challenging when he arrives in town he finds Sari’s birth mom is coming to Alaska wanting to void the adoption. That plus the dog’s adoptive people died in a car accident which Weston is questioning. Yes, there’s a lot going on and you have to read it to put it all together. It’s a lot but in a good way for the reader. I really enjoyed the characters, their interaction, the mystery and of course the added romance.
The epilogue talks about Greyson who is another Navy Seal who has recovered from his injuries and now has been trying to decide what to do with the rest of his life. He has been working with Geir who has told him about one of the missing K-9s. Apparently Kona was shipped to Denver and wound up in Hawaii and here is the start of another wonderful story that I more than ready to read! I love the hint about the next book in the series.
Weston had two missions in Alaska. One was to find a K9 war dog that had been adopted by a homesteader couple. Another was to meet his toddler daughter that had been adopted before he knew about her. Weston is surprised when the adopted mother Daniela picks him up at the airport and quickly offers him a place to stay. Since her husband died, Daniela feels like her daughter Sari needs a father. When Weston finds the dog, Sari and Shambhala quickly bond. With a threat from the birth mother and uncertainty whether Shambhala’s homesteader couple’s death was accidental, there is plenty of suspense in this quick paced book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I like how the story is both suspenseful and shows new relationships growing between Weston, Daniela, Sari, and Shambhala. I love this book and enjoy reading all the books in this series.
