I enjoyed the two childhood friends finding each other as they began to find trust.
A relaxing afternoon read. Wonderful characters and entertaining storyline.
I really enjoyed the development of this story. Coming to understand Weston’s resistance to her. Coming to understand her psych basis for picking bad boys. Her father was a stretch towards the end. His stalling was a stretch … felt like it was done to make the book longer.
Veronica Farmer has always been involved with the wrong men, the bad boys. When her last relationship doesn’t work out, she returns to Elm Ridge, determined not to get involved with anyone and focus on fixing her life.
Weston Green has had a crush on Veronica since first grade when he met her. But over the years, he saw her get involved with the bad boys in town and stayed just as her friend.
When he finds Veronica on the side of the road contemplating her broken car and broken dreams, he can’t help but help her, and the feelings he thought were gone return in full force.
The two start spending time together and Weston helps Veronica get her job back, but she’ll have to fight with the temporary employee, which won’t be that easy.
Will Veronica be able to give Weston a chance and finally get involved with a real man? Or will past mistakes affect any chance of relationship between them?
This is a great story with fascinating characters. I highly recommend the reading.
Veronica kept dating men who didn’t treat her right because her father put her down. She came off as confident, but she really had low self-esteem. I know what that’s like to feel like you’re not good enough. Weston seemed to have trouble trusting that she really wanted to be with him and that she’d stick around. The company Dana contracted through should have done better background checks on her. It added to the humor and drama in the story, but she was so unprofessional. Colton and Weston could have threatened to sue for destruction of company property and sexual harassment. This was a clean romance with plenty of humor and drama.
This is another page turner that kept me flipping the pages until the end. I loved Weston and Veronica’s story. He told everyone, when he met her at church, that he was going to marry her. Veronica grew up with a grumpy father and went from guy to guy making more mistakes, as her father loves to remind her. Weston joined the Army and figures he’s over Veronica, when he returns home. Veronica returns to Elm Ridge, after following Elton to Nashville. She hopes to get her old job back, after Weston stops to help her on the side of the road and tells her to just ask Colton. They’ve replaced her with a temp, Dana. Fun times with her, lol. I won’t tell you what happens, but I loved the ending. I also loved what happens with Veronica and her father, Larry. Grab your copy and get ready to fall in love with Green family. I can’t wait to read book five.
