This book has 2 very good stories. Both of these stories are about families, they are different styles of family but family is family!!! They are both feel good stories that brought a warmth to me as I read them. Get your favorite drink coffee/tea/cocoa and curl up and enjoy!
Two novellas included in Western Christmas Wishes
His Christmas Family by Brenda Minton
Laurel Adams didn’t really want to return to her childhood home in Hope, Oklahoma. Her grandmother was ill and needed help—that’s why she went home.
Cameron Hunt rented a guesthouse from Gladys and had reasons to prefer his own company. Yet with Gladys in the hospital, he figured he’d have to show Lauren the ropes and help her with Rose, the teenager who stayed with Gladys under foster care.
There are some surprises awaiting these two as Christmas approaches.
Not only did the struggles of the main characters tug at my heart, but also the secondary characters battled major obstacles.
An enjoyable holiday romance.
A Merry Wyoming Christmas by Jill Kemerer
Michael Carr, in between job assignments, came back to his family’s ranch for the Christmas holidays. A rift between him and his brother means he won’t linger too long after the holiday.
Leann Bowden looked forward to a new start in Wyoming with her two-year-old daughter, Sunni. Leann arrived at Sunrise Bend a few weeks before her new job started to get them settled. It didn’t matter that Christmas was coming—there was nothing tying her to St. Louis.
There’s something about Michael that draws Leann to his quiet strength. Yet if he doesn’t plan on staying, she can’t give into her feelings. She’s already been through one man leaving her and her daughter … she can’t go through it again.
Believable characters, an adorable little girl who tugged at my heart, and a sweet romance made this an enjoyable read!
Two heartwarming sweet romances, perfect for the Christmas season.
In both books the characters are not only well developed, they are totally charming. Hard situations bring challenges, and sometimes you’ll wonder if they’ll succeed.
In the first story, by author Brenda Minton, the ending could have been more neatly wrapped up as we’re left to our imagination. The story by author Jill Kemerer wrapped up for satisfyingly. But both books were a pleasure to read and I recommend them with a couple of Christmas cookies and a cup of tea.
I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.
In Western Christmas Wishes, authors Brenda Minton and Jill Kemmerer team up to deliver a double dose of holiday spirit.
Both novellas are about falling in love and embracing family—even when that family isn’t traditional or when that family has hurt you.
His Christmas Family by Brenda Minton includes a long overdue trip to the town of Laurel’s shame and disappointment, a young teenager who longs for the traditions of family, and a cowboy who once believed he wanted nothing more than solitude.
Jill Kemerer’s A Very Merry Christmas stars a single mother with an adorable daughter and a cowboy to the rescue who’s ready for a career change.
Don’t miss either of these sweet and uplifting stories wrapped up in a festive book cover.

Western Christmas Wishes is a two-in-one book by authors Brenda Minton and Jill Kemerer. Both of the stories are charming Christmas novellas that are the perfect length for an evening’s reading session. I’ve read some of Jill Kemerer’s books and enjoyed them very much, but Brenda Minton is a new-to-me author.
His Christmas Family by Minton stars Laurel Adams and Cameron Hunt, both of whom have past baggage to deal with and neither of them looking for romance. Throw in a feisty grandmother, Gladys, who has taken in her great-niece, Rose, and it’s a recipe for chaos and love. The characters are realistic and engaging, the setting is delightful, and the story is wonderful.
A Merry Wyoming Christmas by Kemerer is a delicious tale set at a ranch in Wyoming at Christmas. When Leann Bowden and her daughter Sunni get stranded in the snow, Michael Carr comes to the rescue just in time. Both Leann and Michael have been hurt in the past, and their trust in others has been broken. Sunni is a delightful character who can easily soften the hardest heart. The messages of forgiveness, faith, and healing give this story extra depth and meaning.
I enjoyed both of these Christmas novellas and would recommend them to those who enjoy easily read Christmas stories.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Western Christmas Wishes(Love Inspired)
2-in-1 Christmas novella set
His Christmas Family / A Merry Wyoming Christmas By: Brenda Minton And Jill Kemerer
224 pages
Two authors brings us two separate stories in one book.
His Christmas Family ( first book ) 3
When Laurel Adams comes back to her hometown to take care of her 80 year old grandmother who got threw from a horse and broke her shoulder she discovers a foster kid and a seriously charming horse trainer living on her grandmother’s ranch. While the story was sweet I found it lacking and very rushed. I found myself not really liking any of the characters. There was just so much going on and ended with us not knowing how things turned out for the foster child.
A Merry Wyoming Christmas
( Book 2 ) 5
I fell in love with this beautiful heartwarming story from the very first page.It kept me turning the pages all the way to the satisfying end. It was wonderfully written and full of great Characters. The main characters feel real, like people I could meet every day, and I cared about them from the very beginning. I enjoyed this story very much and I am eager to read other books by this author .
Many thanks to the authors, publisher , and Netgalley for the arc of the book. If you would like to follow my reviews please do so my Facebook page Joyce Stewart Reviews.
In His Christmas Family Laurel Adams comes home and finds herself a foster child and a seriously charming horse trainer living on her grandmother’s ranch. In a Merry Wyoming Christmas, single mom Leann Bowden is starting over when she and her daughter are rescued from a snowstorm by a gorgeous cowboy.
Western Christmas Wishes is a 2-in-1 Christmas novella set, two sweet Christmas stories in one volume.
His Christmas Family by Brenda Minton
This is my first read by Brenda Minton, but it will not be my last. Her story of a young woman who went home to help her grandmother evoked emotions I was not expecting in a novella.
A Merry Wyoming Christmas by Jill Kemerer
I so enjoyed this story! The characters drew me in from the beginning – a single mom with her cute, little daughter is rescued by a strong male hero who is in need of his own rescuing. The story is short, but it is filled with romance, forgiveness, and new life.
I was given a copy of this book by one of the authors. I was not required to give a review.
His Christmas Family by Brenda Minton
“We never know what God has in front of us, Laurel, but we can rest assured He has a plan.”
Laurel Adams comes home to Hope, Oklahoma at her grandma’s request for a long past due visit only to find a reclusive wounded cowboy caretaker and a teenage girl with a rough family life. Both soon dig deep in her heart to sooth the hurts she’s buried since childhood.
I love how Cameron & Laurel sparred words at the first meet and how it just endeared me to these two characters even more. They both connect on a deeper level with painful childhood pasts, and once they can overcome their wariness to each other, how they connected in the heart department! I loved Rose, the young teenage girl, begging for love in her own fashion. She just wants to be accepted as she is to the people who care about her. Having been in foster care most of her life, I’m glad it didn’t jade her perspective on the adults in her life. Laurel’s grandma, Gladys, took her in & showed her unconditional love & she thrived on it. I love how the friendship developed between Rose and Laurel. This was certainly a very heartwarming story to lift your spirit! These characters quickly grow on you & make you care what happens to them. I found myself cheering for them all the way. And I just can’t help but fall in love with Cameron myself; I have a soft spot for wounded heroes. He’s everything I would want in one!
A Merry Wyoming Christmas by Jill Kemerer
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding~ Proverbs 3:5”
Estranged from his brother, Michael Carr has a lot of resentment brewing in his heart. So coming home was not his idea of fun! He got more than he bargained for when he rescued a woman and her young daughter on a snowy winter night! Finding the pair huddled together in their damaged car on the side of the road definitely put a chink in his plans. Perhaps God is using this to help the reclusive cowboy finally find forgiveness and love at last.
“Spending time with the pretty mom would be flirting with disaster.”
Content with being a loner, Michael suddenly found himself responsible for two ladies. I love how he stepped up and helped Leann & her daughter Sunni when they desperately needed him. Sunni, for all her little girl charm, immediately takes right to “Myco” and quickly works her magic on his heart. This was also a very heartwarming story with characters to deeply care about. Learning each back-story for Michael & Leann pulled at my heartstrings and wanting the very best God has for them. When Michael finally let go of the past and found forgiveness with his brother, that definitely was the highlight for me! It’s only when we allow God to heal the deep hurts that we can find freedom and reconcile relationships. I loved how Jill Kemerer portrayed that very scriptural truth throughout the book. Love, faith, laughter, and healing made this story one reason I love Kemerer’s writing. She creates stories that not only dig in deep but characters that come to life in your mind.
Two stories to warm you heart and soul this Christmas season! Two stories to remind you of God’s truth, and His love & care for each of us!

I found myself with tears in my eyes several times. A Young woman comes back to her hometown to take care of her grandmother ,but finds others that she wasn’t expecting. A Merry Wyoming Christmas
By: Jill Kemerer
I was drawn in at the start and did not want to put it down. I was not disappointed. A single mother and her daughter is on their way to starting a new life. They get stranded in a snowstorm . Will they try it on foot, or try and wait it out to see if someone comes by and finds them. Can they last in this big storm?
I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Two sweet stories filled with hope, love and forgiveness. From horses to kittens to snow covered roads, both stories share the lives of people finding the possibility of love even when they weren’t searching. Real life emotions touch the heart of the reader. Christmas joys and family are found in these delightful stories. I enjoyed reading this book and will read it again. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required.
A Merry Wyoming Christmas by Jill Kemerer made me want to go live in that small town. A single mother is stranded when her car slides off the road and is rescued by a very nice wildlife biologist who used to be a cowboy. I loved every minute.
His Christmas Family by Brenda Minton was so precious, I found myself getting very leaky eyes more than once and outright crying in other places. A young woman returns to her hometown with a heart full of hurt to take care of her grandmother but finds a very handsome cowboy next door who is wounded himself. Again, I loved every minute. I recommend this book very much.
*My thanks to the publisher and author for a preview copy of this book. The opinions stated here are entirely my own.
