I’m done with humans.Macey may be a top-notch detective, but she doesn’t realize how fragile she is. How dangerous my world can be… mates. Forbidden love. A steamy shifter paranormal romance you can sink your teeth into.
This was a great paranormal book. It involved werewolves, witches, demons and ghosts. It is the first book I have read from this author and I really enjoyed it.
Detective Macey Carpenter is a tough no nonsense type of person. She has the highest amount of solved cases but this one has her running around in circles. She’s chasing a serial rapist whose only description is having red eyes. Never in her wildest imagination did she think it was demons.
Like Mason is to become alpha of the Crescent City Wolf Pack. First he needs to rid New Orleans of the demon infestation then he needs to find a mate. As he’s following Macey and destroying evidence in her case, he finds himself falling for her. To become alpha, he needs to mate with another werewolf. His feelings for Macey might destroy his pack.
I liked the characters a lot. Luke is gorgeous, strong, muscular and a nice guy. Macey is cute, petite and a strong female lead. She just frustrated me with her constant flip flopping between whether to be with Luke or not. I got that she had abandonment issues but it was a little too much. I liked the secondary characters as well. I’m hoping to see other books about Bryce and Macey’s sister or learn more about Chase and his love interest.

Werewolves only By Carrie Pulkin is the first book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series. This is a great example of a werewolf legacy with a twist that will keep you hooked.
Luke has always known his fate is to become the Alpha of the Crescent City Werewolf pack. It is a position he is ready for and is willing to undertake. However, before he can take up his mantel he has to put a stop to the demon infestation threatening to take over his home. This is with the added complication of the police detective, Macey, who is trying to bring down the killer terrorising her city.
Luke knows he has to steer her away from the truth. But how can he do that when he falls for her hard? And in doing so he risks so much more than her finding out the truth – he risks his own leadership. In order to become the alpha Luke has to mate with another werewolf. If he doesn’t then he forfeits his right to be the alpha.
Luke has to figure out how to navigate between his feelings and his duty. Can he reconcile the two? Or will he have to sacrifice one for the other?
I enjoyed this book and the overall story of it. I struggled a little bit with Macey, I thought there were times that her character came across as quite abrasive, although this was understandable given her backstory. However the few shortcomings I found with her were more than made up by Luke. I loved everything about him. He was portrayed so well that for me he entirely made this story. Trying to decide between what his heart wants and his family loyalties kept the book interesting. This is a new author for me and I found the flow of her writing to be constant and well thought through. I am looking forward to seeing what else this series has to offer.

Werewolves Only (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 1) follows Detective Macey Carpenter as she tracks down a serial killer through the city of New Orleans. As she descends further into the supernatural world, will she find out who the murderer is? This is a novel full of action, set in a rich environment. It’s full of twists and turns that leave the reader guessing. It’s very easy to read as I devoured it in one sitting.

This author is new to me and I will definitely be reading more from her. I didn’t like Macey all that much but that being said, I really get the way she is portrayed because of her abandonment issues. She is a tough woman on the outside but a scared little girl on the inside pushing people/Luke away before they get too close. I really loved Luke. He is an alpha but in an understated way. He didn’t want to take over Macey’s life like she couldn’t make decisions for herself- it was refreshing. Overall I fell in love with this story. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!

This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed from beginning to end. This is a paranormal story that took me on a journey throughout this wolf pack. This author’s attention to details made me feel as if I was right there with the pack. Her characters are lovable, connectable and very well written. There are some twists and turns with them that I didn’t see coming but kept me turning pages to find out more and had me on the edge of my seat. I highly recommend this book.

I give Werewolves Only (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen, 5 stars.
Detective Macey Carpenter is on the case of a series of vicious murders. The more she sees, the more unreal it all seems. This leads her to meeting Luke Mason. He is next in line for alpha of his pack. But before he accepts the role, he must find a mate. More specifically, a werewolf mate. But once he meets Detective Carpenter, he cannot think of another woman. What will do? Is there anything that can be done? And who or what is causing these horrific murders?
This is a paranormal romance with plenty of suspense thrown in. There are many things going on in this book, it will keep you reading no matter what genre you most enjoy. Plenty of the supernatural too, werewolves, demons, witches. I really enjoyed this story. The main characters were great and the story was so riveting. Not just the romance of the two main characters, but Macey trying to solve the murder, and Luke trying to do what he can to become alpha of his pack but stay true to himself.
If you like paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and/or suspense novels, this book is for you.

“The pack did its best to keep peace in the supernatural community and to keep their existence a secret from the humans. Psychics and witches may have found a way to coexist…exposing some of their powers to the mundane…but there was no way in hell people would be as accepting of a predatory species like his. He had to stop Macey from learning anything about the demons…and especially the werewolves. Keeping tabs on the sexy detective proved a nice bonus…”
Werewolves Only is the first book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series by Carrie Pulkinen. It is a great paranormal romance- with shifters/werewolves, demons, supernatural elements, mystery, suspense, action, police investigation, and plenty of drama- all set against the vibrant and mystical backdrop of New Orleans.
Ms. Pulkinen is a ‘new-to-me’ author that I will definitely be reading much more of in the future. The story surprised me, because initially I thought it was a bit slow to start with, but I found that after a couple of chapters I was completely hooked and eagerly read the rest of the book. I had to find what happens and whether they figure everything out.
The story is told from several points of view, which I really appreciated, because it really gave the story much more complexity, and depth- and gave me so much more to contemplate.
The characters are interesting and well developed. I loved Luke and Macey!! I was cheering them on right from the get-go! There was a lot more to them, and the story, than meets the eye.
The story is quite suspenseful, with a real ‘mystery’ to try to unravel. There are funny moment- with witty quips/banter that made me smile. Then there were quite gruesome scenes that really ramped up the intensity of the story. Ms. Pulkinen effortlessly describes what was happening in the story, painting a picture in my mind, and making it more like ‘watching’ everything play out, instead of merely reading along.
I can’t wait to see what book two has in store for me!
Thank you, Ms. Pulkinen!

I love werewolf stories. So many different outcomes. This story had a twist because it included other supernatural being. I liked Luke’s and Marcey’s characters. The author did really well describing the pack life and laws. I don’t like how his parents were making him chose the pack or Macey. How keep the bloodline pure was more important than finding your one and only mate. The rivalry wasn’t really interesting because Stephen just acted like a spoiled child.

Crescent City Wolf Pack book 1: Werewolves Only written by Carrie Pulkinen. This is an interesting paranormal romance. Macey was …strong I liked her as a main character, Luke was the perfect match for her and together they can become a force hard to stop, especially for demons. With demon infestations happening all over the city, secrets, lies of omission, and a growing friendship/ relationship is enough to keep Macey busy. But will Luke be the one to get Macey to trust and open up again, will Macey be the one to get Luke to date after his last girlfriend. They each have their own demons to fight (both literally and metaphorically).

Werewolves Only (Crescent City Wolf Pack, #1) by Carrie Pulkinen was a wicket, action packed, steamy read that had my hooked from start to finish.
My first read by this author, I was drawn in by the cover, the synopsis and the raving reviews. I was not disappointed in the slightest! It’s been awhile since I’ve read a good entertaining paranormal shifter romance. This had everything that I love, strong kickass heroine, sexy not so alpha, but very alpha male, mystery, action, epic fights and a slow burn romance that felt real and believable.
I will say that, I did get a little frustrated with Macey towards the end, nothing base on her performed as a MC, but with her standoffness and pushing Luke away. Girl did not know how to listen to her heart, and that leading on, and what not, god, I was getting mad. So happy she came to her senses.
Luke, for me stole the show. He was more the your typical alpha male. He was willing to move heave and hell for Macey. He never force her, and was willing to go agents everything just to show her how much he loved her. It was a nice change from the pushy alphas that plagues the romance world.
Overall I loved everything about this book and I can’t wait to dive into the next. If you haven’t guessed I give this book my stamp of approval and my super high recommendation.
Happy Reading

By Carrie Pulkinen
Rated 4 stars
Wow! I love this story! I was intrigued by the synopsis. I mean who doesn’t love a good shifter story??? The story fell right in line and was what I thought it would be and more. The characters are wonderful. The two main characters drew me and and didn’t let go! Luke was in quite a predicament. Set to be Alpha he was domineering and a bit overprotective. But he has a heart of gold. Providing you don’t cross him or the pack. Macey was a strong female who is tired of all the condescending men. She has a short fuse when women get judged by gender not accomplishments. Luke throws her off-kilter. She just want him to treat her as an equal.
I love how Luke and Macey are described after their first time together. It really made me “feel” like I knew exactly how they were acting because they walked around “with big goofy grins on their faces”. Loved that!
As well as the comment “You want me to ride you?…….Everyday of my life!” Not sure whether that’s so sweet or super sexy?!?
I really enjoyed getting to know a few members of the pack. Especially the ones close to Luke. They have a brotherhood along with friendship. Those two I look forward to reading about in the future.
This is a great beginning to the series! It was filled with danger, demons, shifters, suspense and witches. It kept me entertained and eagerly looking forward to reading. I couldnt wait to find out what was going to happen next. I easily sped through this story and can’t wait for the next installment.

The story Werewolves Only (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen is a paranormal romance book. It quickly grabbed my interest and I found myself lost in the pages. I absolutely love paranormal romance books and this story is a wonderful example of why. It takes you on a journey that includes action, werewolves, demons, and romance. It is the perfect combination that kept me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. I loved reading about the characters of Detective Macey Carpenter and Luke Mason. Macey is a woman who is tough, strong, and independent. If you ask Luke he would also call her kind, caring, and beautiful. She is working on a case that not only is hard to solve but some of what she finds at the crime scene is unexplainable. Luke is a man that knows what he wants. The position as alpha in the pack and also Macey. He needs a mate in order to become Alpha. He finds himself willing to risk everything in order to be with Macey. When these two meet there is flirting going on and both feel an attraction for each other. There seems to be an instant chemistry between them that can’t be denied. As the horrible attacks that have been happening in the city go on Macey is determined to find out who is behind them. Luke is protective of Macey and will do anything to make sure that she is safe. How much danger is Macey in as she investigates the attacks? How far will Luke go to protect her? As she spends time with Luke, the walls that Macey put up around her heart start to come down. Both Luke and Macey have secrets that they keep. What would happen if these secrets are revealed? What does the future hold for Luke and Macey? Will they get an HEA? Will Macey be able to put her trust in Luke? Read this story to find out. There are many other characters that you are introduced to and most of them are supportive to Luke and Macey. I enjoyed reading about the interactions between them. There are also characters that have their own agenda and evil plans. Will those plans be stopped? This is a well-written page-turning story that I would highly recommend reading. It is the first book in a series and I look forward to reading the next story.

But my goodness did she have to play it up so much?! Luke was willing to do anything for her. Including giving up everything he’s ever known and his future for her. Her tough girl act got old quick too.

This is a really good beginning for a new series. I love that it is set in New Orleans and not only does it have shifters, there are witches, demons, a voodoo priestess and a slightly different set of rules for the werewolves. Macey is a NOPD detective and is working on a serial rapist case. Luke is the son of the werewolf alpha and is in line to take over very shortly. The werewolves protect the city from demons and someone has been summoning them. I was impressed with Macey’s work ethic, but when it comes to her personal life, she is pitiful. I personally thought that she was wishy-washy in her dealings with Luke. I also thought Luke would have been better if he had told her the whole truth so she could make an informed decision about the future. I wasn’t sure if I like Alexis in the beginning, but I loved her to death by the end. Definitely worth reading. I volunteered to read an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.

This was a fun story with lots of action with werewolves and demons . Macey and Luke were both great characters with great chemistry. All the characters were well developed and likeable. The story was wonderful as Macey hunted a serial rapist as did Luke although not together at first. Throw in the dilemma of Luke being the next alpha and only allowed to mate with a werewolf and it takes another fun twist. Secondary characters were also well developed and likeable. I look forward to reading the next book in this series! I am voluntarily reviewing an arc I received.

Throw in the dilemma of Luke being the next alpha and only allowed to mate with a werewolf and it takes another fun twist. Secondary characters were also well developed and likeable. I look forward to reading the next book in this series! I am voluntarily reviewing an arc I received.
