Caleb Hallow doesn’t need anyone. All he needs is to dominate in the MMA cage and become world champion. His plans are derailed when he wakes up with a mysterious tattoo of his ancestors after a one-night stand with his opponent’s ex-girlfriend, Meg Riley. Sharing the mark with her joins them as mates for eternity. Can Caleb deal with Meg for the rest of his life? Can he keep her safe from his … past as he falls deeply in love with her? And will she stay by him when she finds out he is actually a werewolf?
It was just a fling, a chance to get revenge on her cheating ex. At least that’s what Meg Riley tries to convince herself. But the indescribable pull that draws her to the dark, dangerous Caleb Hallow tells her differently. Although she is furious when she finds the strange tattoo on her back after their night together, and even though he tells her some convoluted story about him being a werewolf, she can’t stay away from him. She can’t stop herself from falling for him. When her ex threatens Caleb’s life, how far will Meg go to save him? Will she be willing to sacrifice her life for his?

There’s a lot happening in this book- it’s the first in the series so that makes sense. I assume that there will be other books following Caleb’s brothers. I waffled a bit on this book. I didn’t really like the characters too much and Meg and Caleb’s relationship didn’t seem to unfold in a realistic way (well as realistic for a paranormal romance). I also don’t like that Meg basically cheated on her boyfriend and yes, he was a cheater but then she was willing to go back to him after cheating (but then couldn’t because of the fated mates thing). So, from the beginning, I didn’t like Meg. Caleb was ok and I liked the other characters. The paranormal aspect was interesting and intertwining it with MMA was quite original, in my opinion. There was a definite bad guy, a bit of craziness and a lot of steam.
While I rate the book a 3.0 stars, I have to say that the audiobook was well done and increased by rating to 3.5. The narration was done by Amanda Stribling and Craig Hart and both had great voices that were very consistent with the characters. I really liked the emotion that the narrators imparted, especially Amanda Stribling. Overall, a good listen.

This was my first Tricia Andersen’s book, and won’t be my last. This is the first book in the Hallow Brothers Series, a Paranormal MMA Sports Romance. Caleb and Meg’s story is original, and entertaining. Caleb is a MMA Fighter, and werewolf. Meg is lovely, strong, and sassy. They share an instant attraction and a sizzling chemistry. The storyline has action, and humor. Craig A. Hart and Amanda Stribling did a great job with the narration. I like their voices together. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series. #AudiobookObsession
Welterweight (Hallow Brothers, Book 1) blends together mma sports, werewolves, and internal mates. A revenge fling, a mysterious tatoo and a complicated secret. I wanted to enjoy this listen more than I did but I couldn’t get into the story too much as the male narrator was not enjoyable to listen.
Narators Craig A. Hart and Amanda Stribling dual narration was overshadowed by Craig’s monotone voice. I didnt enjoy his performance. Amanda Stribling’s performance was smooth and easy listening. She brought out Meg’s fiesty personality.

AMAZING! I love shifter stories and Welterweight is one of my favorites! I love everything about this! A shifter who ‘hates’ his human mate?? Interesting! MMA Shifter? Yes, please! Hot, sweet, and super-steamy – I love EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK!!! FIVE STARS!!!
MMA fighter that’s a shifter? Heck yea! I loved this book. I read it in one sitting.
I love Caleb. He’s cocky, kinda a jackass but you still have to love him. Meg was awesome. I loved that she wouldn’t put up with his bull. They really played off each other well and the chemistry was off the charts. A great story and I’m super excited to read the rest of the series.
So my BFF a/k/a partner in crime has been after me to read this series. So I decided to take her advice and jumped in. What a great start to a series.
Meg has an on again off again jerk of a boyfriend that she sees cheating on her once again so her plan is to find a guy hook up for one night and boom!! they are even. Because that is always the right plan and works like a charm. LOL. When Caleb is in front of her she decides who better to make the boyfriend jealous by having a one night stand with her boyfriends rival Caleb.
Caleb is the middle brother out of 7 boys. He is an ass and does not open his heart to anyone. He is all for the one night stands no strings no attachments. Which is what he planned with Meg. However, the fates play a part in this. You see after the one night stand Meg wakes up with a large tattoo that sends her through the roof and on a mission to find the only one that could have put it there Caleb.
I absolutely love Meg,s personality she is feisty and does not back down even when she finds out Caleb’s secret and that she is Caleb’s MATE what ever that means. I have to say Caleb somehow found a way into my heart. He is full on alpha and an ass but he has his sweet moments. Meg and Caleb do not like each other and try so hard to fight the matting pull. Is it wrong that I enjoyed seeing there arguments and fights. I have to say those never got old. These two are truly two peas in a pod they were truly made for each other.
There is something about all seven of these guys that has peaked my interest. I have to say I liked Caleb but there are six more so who knows who will be my favorite. I enjoyed most all of the characters even the two aunts. I’m so ready to start the next one.
First things first…Yes, yes, yes! Shifter MMA fighters? Hello?! You don’t even have to read anymore of the review! Just read Welterweight for yourself! But if you must continue…Basically we have our two main characters, Caleb and Meg. Caleb is all about the one night stands. Ain’t got time for relationships and all that mess. Meg is “committed” to her on and off again boyfriend, Austin. He treats her like crap but she keeps going back because she is soooo in love with him. One night Meg breaks it off with Austin and ends up looking for a one night stand, you know, the one that is gonna make Austin mad. What she wasn’t prepared for was tall, dark, and yummy who she basically climbs in the club. It’s even better because Caleb and Austin are set to fight each other too. Caleb and Meg just cannot get enough of each other. This insatiable pull is so intense! After a crazy night Caleb tries to do the wam bam thank you ma’am and leaves but Meg wakes up with a tattoo and goes on a crazy hunt for Caleb. From here on out we find that they are mated but neither of them want this. They hate each other, right? But this pull of the mating just won’t let it happen. They are basically carbon copies of each other. Both are so independent and full of themselves. The fighting and bickering…then the “special time” *wags eyebrows* will keep you wanting to know more about them. As they are coming to terms with the mating, things go awry. I can’t give you any other spoilers but if I can give you any indication of how good this story is, I read this in one sitting. I just had to know what was going on, who was behind it all, and if they were going to come out together. All the characters introduced are going to make great characters for other books and I am hoping to see more of the craziness that is Caleb and Meg. Bring it on Tricia Andersen! Lovin it!!!
