Chemistry is my love language.I’ve always been able to separate feelings from chemosignals. A shot of dopamine, a dash of serotonin, and a sprinkle of oxytocin—and bam. You’re in love. And when egg meets sperm, you’re pregnant.I couldn’t even be surprised as I stared down at the little blue plus sign, because I knew exactly when and how, and with whom it happened. When: approximately five weeks ago. happened.
When: approximately five weeks ago.
Who: one night stand.
How: prophylactic malfunction.
The upside? I don’t have to go looking for a suitable mate.
Genetically, he’s the cream of the crop. His musculature is a study in symmetry and strength, his height imposing and impressive. He is a man who thrives on control and command, a man who survives on intelligence and resourcefulness. A perfect male specimen.
And the whole package is wrapped up in a flawlessly tailored suit.
I’m having this baby, and he insists we’re well-suited to have it together. And what’s worse? He wants more, in the way of love and marriage.
But love isn’t real. It’s just a product of chemistry.
And if he changes my mind about that, we’re both in trouble.

What a wonderful love story and way to end this series. I definitely recommend this book, this author and this beautiful series.
Well Suited is the last book in the Red Lipstick Coalition series and it feels like the ending to my favorite show (which is also coming) What is life? For I digress! The Red Lipstick Coalition series features four brilliant yet very different women brought together by friendship and a tube of red lipstick that makes them bold. The conclusion of the series comes with Katherine and Theodore’s book.
Beginning with a dance, Katherine is immediately attracted to Theodore and his pheromones as she cannot resist smelling him like a cupcake sniffer .
Katherine is endearing and pragmatic. She’s just… Different. Intelligent and quirky. Theo makes her reckless. Thoughtless. Daring! She feels like she has no control when she’s with him while he sees Katherine’s true potential all along.
Theo is the protector. He’s the one who takes care of everyone. He doesn’t do relationships, however, it only took one night for him to fall for Katherine. He loves calling her Kate because he knows it will annoy her, but also because her fight lessens the more he does call her that.
Together these two were magical. Their chemistry was off the charts. Theo loves to hear her ramble off random facts and trivia, and Kate knows she doesn’t need to feel embarrassed or watch what she says around him. Two opposites who started their relationship backwards. Their one night of passion leads to Katherine being pregnant and she’s absolutely terrified, while Theo embraces it. With time Kate loosens up and let’s go of most of her rules. From there, things definitely get interesting.
Staci Hart gives readers a glance of all the beloved characters. She’s an author I’ve been reading for a few years now and is an amazing human being who is beyond talented. Well Suited is a wonderful end to an unforgettable series! Sweet, sexy, witty and with the perfect touch of angst Staci is known to give us. I highly recommend this series!
The Red Lipstick Coalition series has been a rather enjoyable series by Staci and we have finally made it to the last book with Kate and Tommy’s story. Out of all the heroines in this series, Kate was probably the toughest for me to connect with, so I didn’t love this one as much as I wanted. But I did very much enjoy this read!
Kate loves her routine and isn’t quite a fan of when something or someone throws it off completely. It unbalances her and she has this constant need to keep everything leveled. Even though I understood why she was the way she was, it was just so hard to watch the way she treated Tommy.
There’s no doubt about how much I loved Tommy, he was completely patient and genuinely kind when it came to Kate. He knew from the moment he set his eyes on her, that he could possibly see a future with her. Team Tommy up with Kate and you have two people that want two very different things for their lives. Will they be able to find some sort of balance or just co-habitate while taking care of their child?
From the very beginning, we know that Kate just isn’t open to love and it made me a little sad that she couldn’t even humor the idea at all. Tommy went to all lengths to show her he cared for her, but she constantly shut him down on all matters of having an actual relationship together.
I did love their steamy and emotion-filled scenes together … definitely some of my favorite moments in this book!
I truly wanted to love this book more, but it didn’t quite hit the spot with me. I’m still a huge Staci Hart fan, so don’t let this review let you think otherwise.
**I RECEIVED A COMPLIMENTARY READER’S COPY FROM THE AUTHOR IN CONSIDERATION FOR A REVIEW. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR CONTENT OF MY REVIEW**
Theo was my baby and I loved his heart and drive. The keeper of all thing and protector of family. Katherine heart didn’t have a chance. Rule be damned. It took grace and persistence to show that all was logical was also magic and will of the hearts.
This was another winner in a series that I love so much.
Well Suited, the final installment of the Red Lipstick Collation Series, blew my heart right out of the water. Even with following (lets be real devouring) this series from the start, Katherine has always been in the periphery and this was her time to shine.
The more I learned about Katherine, the more I adored her. Very practical. Focused. Extremely introverted. She lived her life by a defined set of rules and it worked for her until Theo came triple stepping into her world. He didn’t know what hit him when Katherine came leading the way, but he knew he couldn’t get enough.
I think that my favorite thing about this book was seeing Theo, being himself, break down all the barriers and constructs that Katherine had built for herself to keep her heart safe. He spoke “Kate”. He gave her what she needed and asked for. And she, little by little, learned that flexibility can be a good thing. Except for that one time when Theo pushed her boundaries too far…
I mean really Staci Hart can do no wrong. NONE! Theo and Katherine are the proof. In no way should they have made sense together. But they did and anything other than the journey they took wouldn’t have worked. It was rife with plans and family and passion. And a few other unexpected surprises too.
Reading Well Suited was bittersweet. It was the end of an era, These women and their men are just so special. The friendships and feeling of empowerment and acceptance and self love is what the RLC is all about. And these stories will live on in my heart forever.
Staci Hart rounds out her Red Lipstick Coalition series with this witty, and fascinating (not to mention SEXY) standalone! Get ready to devour Katherine and Theo’s story!
I love the way Staci Hart always writes a great story that pulls at my heart.
The characters seem so real to me that it’s like they become family and you can’t wait to find out what happens next.
Theo and Kathrine are no exception when they begin have a one night stand that turns into a pregnancy.
I love how Theo always seems to know what Kathrine needs before she does and how she acknowledges it.
Kathrine on the other hand is extremely clinical, and doesn’t believe in love and marriage mostly due to her upbringing.
They are the perfect pair who just need to figure out how to make it work.
I cried during the birth of the baby, because it just seemed so real.
A great end to the series.
I look forward to many more books by this author.
Absolutely loved this book. Perfect end to a fab series. Was amazing to finally see inside Katherine’s mind. Loved every second.
I’ll definitely be reading more from this author.
My goodness Staci Hart knows how to write a damn book! I didn’t think Tommy and Amelia (from book 3) could be beat, but in swoop Theo and Katherine bringing the magic with their story. These two characters have completely different personalities and outlooks to life and they fit together IMPECCABLY! Theo checks all the boxes and more for an incomparable book boyfriend. He is patient…OH SO PATIENT…with Katherine’s detached way and her tendency to over-rationalize to the point of being irrational. But you know what? I heart Katherine too because I can relate to her logical approach to all things. She never had boundaries or rules to follow growing up, and she is the type of person that craves that structure. She needs it! But everyone can stand to be more flexible sometimes and these two complement each other spectacularly. I love these RLC girls enthusiastically. I love these couples! Want to sprinkle some happiness in your life? Read Staci Hart and Well Suited. 5 plus stars for this lovely.
A sweet slow burn story about how a one night stand can change your life. Theo falls for Katherine a stoic no nonsense gal. Theo with a heart of gold tries to woo Katherine and the story shows the POV for both of them.
The characters come to life and give you thought as to what would you do in this situation. I enjoyed the book just wished it moved a bit faster. No angst HEA book.
“We do so solemnly swear to use this shiny little tube of power to inspire braveness, boldness, and courage. We promise to jump when it’s scary, to stand tall when we want to hide, to scream our truth instead of whisper our fears. May we be mistresses of our destinies, and to hell with anyone who tries to tell us otherwise.”
Well Suited delivers all the swoony, feel-good, contented feels. I absolutely adore this series and I think that Katherine and Theo’s story might just be my favorite. Amelia’s and Tommy’s is a close second – those Bane brothers . . .
Practical and pragmatic Katherine believes in logic, knowledge and truth. Not love. Love isn’t real; it’s just a chemical reaction. But from the moment Katherine meets Theodore Bane and lets him lead her across the dance floor, there’s a well-suited attraction. Theo knew the second he saw Kate that she was special and he’s playing for keeps. Now that she’s carrying his baby he’s even more determined than ever to show her that just maybe some things cannot be explained with math or science, that magic and love and happily-ever-afters are possible because with every breath and beat of his heart, he’s falling even more in love with her.
“If I had my way, we’d have our happy ending. I was gonna marry that girl one day. Someday. But for starters, I’d happily settle for a kiss.”
Wonderfully written, with a fantastic cast of characters, heart-felt emotions, passionate chemistry and a swoony-perfect-I-don’t-want-it-to-be-over! epilogue, Well Suited is one of my top favorite reads.
The Red Lipstick Coalition series is not to be missed!
Staci Hart is an exceptional writer, and I’ve enjoyed every one of her books. The whole Red Lipstick Coalition series is delightful and charming and fun. I love books that take place in New York City. At one point, Theo takes a walk through the city, and I could see all the places in my mind’s eye.
Each book can be read as a standalone, if you’re not ready to invest the time in an entire series. (Naturally, I think once you’ve read one, you’ll want to read them all!) My favorite is still book 2, Player, because it’s about Broadway musicians, but this fourth book is wonderful. Of course, by the final book in a series, you know the supporting characters really well, having already read their stories. It’s lovely to see Val and Sam, Rin and Court, and Amelia and Tommy play a role in the telling of the coming together of Katherine and Theo.
We’ve known Katherine since book 1, Piece of Work, and she is, as they say, a quirky bird. (Probably not coincidentally, Staci Hart is known as @imaquirkybird on Twitter!) Katherine likes rules, and order. She likes to make plans, and she’s happiest when things go according to her plans! I had a bit of trouble relating to her in the first three books, because she can be a little off-putting, what with her spouting facts and speaking in a very clinical manner, but I can really relate to this aspect of her personality. I, too, like when things go the way I’ve planned them!
You can imagine that she’s thrown for a bit of a loop when she discovers that she’s unexpectedly pregnant by the brother of her friend Amelia’s husband, with whom she had a one-night stand. She doesn’t believe in love and relationships, but she wants to give her baby the best possible life, so she and Theo enter into a sort of understanding, complete with rules and expectations.
If you’ve ever been pregnant, you know how everything feels completely out of your control: your body, your emotions, your circumstances, and your best-laid plans. Katherine feels this way, and she really doesn’t like it! It was quite funny to read about how much she had to change the way she looked at the world, and see her frustration with having to learn to let go of the rules and expectations she had put on herself, her life, and her relationship with Theo.
Speaking of Theo, I think he’s my favorite of the RLC heroes. I was a little jealous of Katherine, reading about how he anticipated her every need and cared for her and their unborn baby with such devotion, putting up with her quirks and all of the disorder that pregnancy brought to Katherine’s orderly emotions. He was exactly what “Kate”, as he and only he is allowed to call her, needed, even if she couldn’t see it.
Every couple has its moment of difficulty, and I often find myself getting stressed out as I see it approaching. (Sometimes I have to stop reading altogether for a little while!) I really hate when the cause is something stupid, like a disagreement or a misunderstanding which could have been avoided if the couple had simply talked to each other. When Kate and Theo reach this point in their story, it makes complete sense, because they really are two very different people with completely separate outlooks on love and relationships; and I wasn’t anxious about the cause or whether or not they would be able make their way back to each other. I was certain that they would, and not in a “it’s a romance book, and the fourth in a series, no less; of course they’re going to make up!” It’s because these two characters were so perfectly written, that it would not have made sense for them to end up any other way, and I trusted Staci Hart to get them there.
Oh what an interesting ride this story was. Katherine for being as rigid and clinical, it was a beautiful way to watch her open up and show her emotions. Theo, oh that boy. He has the patience of a saint! Especially with Katherine! But the way these two just melded together was stunning. Their pull was very magnetic regardless of how much Katherine didn’t believe in all of that, especially love. Theo opened her eyes to so much without pushing. There banter was hilarious and the passion was sizzling as these two navigate their way to becoming parents. I loved the whole RLC being a part of this story and helping Katherine open her eyes more too.
Overall, out of all the RLC books, I think this one is my favorite. Watching two people who have such different dispositions become such a perfect unit, even with their flaws, was awe inspiring and so heartfelt. I adored every moment of this book and honestly could not put it down. Hart has a beautiful way of telling a story that feels real and one of a kind. I highly recommend this one as well as all the books in the series as they are all phenomenal!
“ . , , . ’ . ’ .”
Can we just take a minute here and bask in the glory that is Staci Hart’s wonderful, romantic, and poetic writing? You can’t read the quote above and say you didn’t just swoon all over the place…you just can’t!
by Staci Hart was a stunning, entertaining, and absolutely magical romance that I devoured oh so quickly. My plan was to take my time, savor it, and appreciate it wholeheartedly, but like all of Staci’s love stories, taking my time…it just wasn’t in the cards. The minute these amazing character’s voices resonated in my mind, I was a complete goner. I needed that happily ever after like I needed my next breath, and nothing was going to deter me from that epic journey.
The long awaited, and the long dreaded final book in the inspiring series is about friendship, family, and learning how to love with everything you have in you. It’s about a man who falls so fiercely in love with a woman, that he will do anything to adapt, to have the patience needed to wait for her love in return. Theo and Katherine are hands down, my favorite Staci Hart couple to date! I can’t even with these two! It’s such a unique, but powerful sort of bond that they developed, and I can’t even stop thinking about it. The more I think about it, the more I know that this may be ! I have this tremendous and exhilarating feeling every single time I think about Katherine and Theo’s happily ever after. All I want to do is drop everything and experience it for the very first time ALL OVER AGAIN! When you have those feelings the very second you get to THE END…well, that’s when you know you just experienced something truly special.

I received an ARC in return for an honest review. If I was Theo I would have probably left the date early with Katherine. You would have thought she was this powerful CEO or something with her demand to lead when dancing or the way she talked about their “transaction” and the “embryo.” So closed off and cold. I honestly didn’t like this story from the first page.
I read it from page one till the end without stopping, it was that good, I love the heroine, her friends and the hot swoony guy. Theo and Kate will be your next favorite couple. A guy like Theo who just gets into Kate’s heart and soul it the guy everyone needs and wants. I laughed, my heart was on edge and I simply enjoyed it too much.
This was the only book in this series I have read so far and it won’t be the last. I loved, loved Theo. He was sexy, caring and patient. Katherine was a tough character to like sometimes but that was her personality. She drew a slew of emotions out of me but she proved herself in the end. This was perfect writing because I had all the feels with each chapter.
Since this is a standalone within the series, it wasn’t hard to follow the story even though there were characters from previous books. Overall, a great emotional read with fun sidekicks.
5.5 Amazing Stars!
I was sighing heavily, feeling a little sad I’d finished Well Suited, the fourth and last book in the Red Lipstick Coalition series, so soon. I loved this amazing Rom-Com, the writing was spot on as usual, and I absolutely adored everything about it! I’d been waiting anxiously for Katherine and Theo’s story; we got a glimpse of what was to come in the third book, and this story exceeded all my expectations. I’m adding this story to my #TopRead2019 list; it’s going to be a favorite of mine, one I’ll recommend for years to come.
You really need to read these books in order, while they’re all Standalones; the characters are interconnected in the previous books, you really don’t want to miss any of these fabulous stories! What a way to end a series.
“There were things in life that I cherished, upheld as holy gospel—logic knowledge, and truth. And in that triad, there was no room for such things as sentimentality.”
Katherine Lawson was convinced she’d be living alone, probably surrounded by cats, after her college girlfriends and now ex-roommates had moved out, one by one, and while she liked to be alone, she missed them. They had found, fallen in love, and moved in with their boyfriends. Except Amelia, she’d married Tommy, the NY Times bestselling author, and Theodore’s twin brother, the man Katherine had spent the night with a five weeks ago. And had apparently impregnated her, due to a mishap with the prophylactic he’d used. Or misused, as was the case. Katherine blamed his pheromones. Katherine could not understand her friends, she didn’t believe in love or marriage, and believed they had been overcome by chemicals that had confused them. There was no other logical reason.
“I’d never believed in fate, never subscribed to soul mates. But if ever there was a man who was my exact match, my most perfect equal, it was Theo.”
Theo Bane had been managing his brother’s career for over six years, and both brothers cared for their mother, due to her illness. She’d raised them by herself, after their father had abandoned them, and now they all lived in the same building. It came as a surprise when Kate showed up, to announce she was having a baby. He could be involved, if he’d like, and if not she was prepared to raise it on her own. Theo immediately decided he was going to be an active father, unlike their sperm donor. Theo had tried to get in contact with Kate after that night they’d shared, sure they had a connection, but she had ignored his messages and calls. He was determined to try to win her over; he didn’t want to let her slip away once more.
“We’re fundamentally different in the one place it matters the most. His idea of relationships is founded in love and marriage. Mine is founded in partnership, not passion.”
As the two of them begin to get to know each other, ‘for the baby’s sake’, they mistakenly think they’re on the same page. Katherine assumes Theo understands her position on relationships and he thinks Kate is coming around to his way of thinking.
“Of all the people in all the world, I’d thought he was the only one who understood me. All this time, I’d thought we were on the same page.”
They’re both so sadly mistaken!
“I could be whatever she needed. But I didn’t know how much more I could sacrifice when she’d sacrificed so little. I felt I was being punished for my feelings, for what I wanted.”
You have no idea how much I loved this book, but I can enlighten you about it. First of all, Theo and Katherine, the lead characters, are amazing. Strong and stubborn, but also beautiful inside and out. Their chemistry, what started all this thing, is unbelievable. And their story isn’t just another romcom. It’s the ultimate tale of friendship, passion and love. With this book you’ll discover the many layers behind a feeling that’s hard to explain or rationalize, a feeling so deep and strange that make us feel afraid and week, but when we.embrace it make us strong enough to fight against any obstacle. I think this one is my favorite in the series.
