From the NYT Bestselling author of MISTER O, comes a hot and hilarious new standalone romance…
Here’s what you need to know about me — I’m well-off, well-hung and quick with a joke. Women like a guy who makes them laugh–and I don’t mean at the size of his package. No, they want their funny with a side of huge… not to mention loyal. I’ve got all that plus a big bank account, thanks to my … account, thanks to my booming construction business. Yup. I know how to use all my tools.
Enter Natalie. Hot, sexy, smart, and my new assistant. Which makes her totally off limits…
Hey, I’m a good guy. Really. I do my best to stay far away from the kind of temptation she brings to work. Until one night in Vegas…
Yeah, you’ve heard this one before. Bad news on the business front, drowning our sorrows in a few too many Harvey Wallbangers, and then I’m banging her. In my hotel room. In her hotel room. Behind the Titanic slot machine at the Flamingo (don’t ask). And before I can make her say “Oh God right there YES!” one more time, we’re both saying yes–the big yes–at a roadside chapel in front of a guy in press-on sideburns and a shiny gold leisure suit.
But it turns out what happened in Vegas didn’t stay in Vegas. And now, my d&k doesn’t stay in my pants when she’s around. I try to resist. Honest. But the more we try to keep our hands to ourselves, the more we end up naked again, and the more time I want to spend with her fully clothed, too. The question now is…do I take this woman to be my ex-wife?
WELL HUNG is a sexy standalone romantic comedy!*
more
This is a spinoff of BIG ROCK & MISTER O, but it can also be read as a standalone. Of course, I would recommend you read the other two books first to get the full effect. *wink*
WELL HUNG revolves around Wyatt Hammer (Nick’s twin, from MISTER O) and Natalie Rhodes (Charlotte’s sister, from BIG ROCK). We got a glimpse of these two possibly being an item back in MISTER O. Lauren Blakely does a great job of dropping breadcrumbs of potential relationships for her follow up books. She makes you WANT to read about what will happen between those two characters. And she did just that with Wyatt and Nat.
For me, this was WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS meets CINDERELLA. Wyatt and Natalie “Nat” are employer and employee…you see where I’m taking this? Yes, the forbidden, off-limits, “no fraternization with my employee” kind of story. BUT…Lauren makes their story fun and entertaining! No surprise there…this is ROM COM after all. So Natalie works as Wyatt’s assistant for his construction business: WH Carpentry & Construction. She is the glue that holds his company together. Before her, he was a “sinking ship”…so to speak. His organizational skills were nonexistent and thanks to her, he is getting to jobs on time, scheduling new jobs, finishing jobs on time and most importantly, making a positive name for himself.
“Now, half a year together, I can’t imagine WH Carpentry & Construction without her running the business side of the things. Her savvy frees me up to focus on what I’m good at—building, making, working.” –Wyatt. And to top it all off, she is hot as sin! But there’s no way he can go there. “Natalie Rhodes, temptation made flesh, the All-American black belt with a tongue of iron fire.” – Wyatt. One of his top rules is: DO NOT MIX BUSINESS AND PLEASURE. Speaking from past experience, he just doesn’t go there…anymore. “Last time I canoodled with someone I worked with my business could have tanked. That experience taught me a lesson I should have learned a long time ago—don’t mix business and pleasure.” –Wyatt. But when a job falls through and you’re in the city of sin with your s*xy and fun assistant, what else are you going to do, but live it up, right?
She takes it and we shake. “Full Vegas experience.”
“One night. We’re going to fit it all in.”
“We’ll go all out.” She sweeps her arm grandly.
“Throw caution to the wind,” she says with a full mega-watt smile.
They do just that! But there’s one kink (and no I don’t mean that kind of kink…well maybe a little bit)…they go from boss and assistant to husband and wife. *EEK* Now, the real fun begins. After lusting over each other for half a year, in the one night they throw caution to the wind, they wind up hitched! In the hast to get their marriage annulled and to set things back the way they were, you guessed it, things do not go as planned….paperwork doesn’t get filed, they can’t keep their hands off of each other, old worries begin to surface, and so on and so on. “What was supposed to be fun and daring has turned into a helluva knot to untangle.” –Wyatt. Now Wyatt and Nat have to figure out a way successfully annul their “marriage” without jeopardize everything. “I want to keep working with her, and I want to be with her, and I want to erase our Vegas mistake and just move forward like a normal man and woman dating in Manhattan would do. But whenever we take a step, we meet a roadblock.” –Wyatt. Will Nat and Wyatt be able to untangle this mess they got themselves into? Or will this end terribly? Apparently, what happens in Vegas, doesn’t always stay in Vegas.
I thoroughly enjoyed Wyatt and Nat’s story. Lauren Blakely once again made a swoon-worthy lead male character and a kick-a** lead female. The story was realistic and well-paced. The playful banter between these two was comical and kept me chuckling throughout the whole book. I would recommend you “take a ride” and give this book a try. You’ll understand what I mean when you read it *wink*.
*Told from Wyatt’s POV and every once in a while we get Natalie’s text conversations from her POV.
4 stars!
WOW! Wyatt had his hang ups but he was such a sweetheart. Although he had his moments of being a little standoffish but this was a true loving, romantic, comedic story.
Wyatt and Natalie have romance that is complicated by the employer/employee relationship and Wyatt’s baggage. Natalie is organized, giving, and sweet. Wyatt has grown to depend on her for his business and her friendship. A trip to Las Vegas and too much alcohol leads to a change in their relationship that follows them home. I love that Wyatt can’t stay away from Natalie on an emotional or a physical level. I love that Natalie loves him so much she puts him first to her detriment. Hot, romantic, and sometimes funny, I really enjoyed their story. his is written completely in first person from Wyatt’s POV.
Well Hung is a standalone novel but if you read Big Rock and Mister O you would have met Wyatt (Nick’s twin brother) and Natalie (Charlotte’s sister). I loved that Lauren put these two together! One of my favorite things about Lauren’s books is how she ties them together and adds some cameos even from other series’. Ok. Back to Wyatt and Natalie’s story…
It’s been six months in the making. Since the moment Wyatt saw Natalie, he was hot for her. But instead of getting her in his bed, he got her sitting in his office as his assistant at WH Carpentry & Construction and he does not mix business with pleasure. He learned his lesson and he can’t lose her. She makes his business better, his life easier, and his smile wider. But, she also makes his pants tighter. He loves hammering nails, but he would rather be hammering her. He knows he can’t go there. Ever. Well…not until they are in the city of sin for a potential project that could change everything.
Wyatt and Natalie have one night in Las Vegas and since it’s her first time there Wyatt wants to give her the full Vegas experience. It might have started as a few drinks here and there but it turns into a night of hot risky sex, rollercoaster rides, and a trip to a little white chapel. Promises were made. Orgasms were had. Now what the fuck are they going to do when reality hits?
Wyatt and Natalie have to make this work. Whatever it is. He can’t lose her. She can’t lose him. They need each other and not just for the amazing sex. They need each other for the business. She loves her job, she can’t lose it if this gets awkward. He can’t use her because she is the best assistant ever. They also need their friendship. I mean, how can they go on without his random animal facts or her crazy organizational skills and ninja kicks. They can’t. Will they be able to resist the pull they feel every time they are in the same room so they can stay professional? Or will they put all their cards on the table?
If floved this book! Wyatt is one sexy man in a tool belt but he is also the king of puns, protective, and knows exactly where to get in a good screw. And Natalie is a badass. She is a blackbelt with her own passion. What’s not hot about being able to kick a man’s ass? But really…she is loyal, sweet, and funny. Together, their chemistry is sexy as fuck. Their banter is skillful. Their willingness is beautiful. Loved them even when I wanted to slap them.
Overall…If you want a sexy and fun book with some hot risky sex and beautiful moments this is it! I actually think this book was written for me. I mean…a funny hottie that knows how to hammer that loves Oreos and proposes in Vegas. Yep! It’s a Sandra book. Thanks Lauren for the laughs, tears, and naughtiness.
Quotes:
Right now, though, with Natalie radiating energy and excitement, I’m thinking blonde with a side of spanking is my favorite. Maybe an appetizer of hot hungry kisses, a main dish of hardcore fucking, and for dessert, we’d go for doubles.
“How much do you love rollercoasters?” I ask.
“Just you wait ’til you hear me scream on the drop. Then you’ll know how much.”
“Hit me with your best shot, Frisky Mittens.”
I am binging this series on audio and LOVING it! I think I enjoyed this one the best so far. Wyatt and Natalie are just so great together. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? Well, not necessarily, especially when you get drunk and get married…These two are great and work well together. Don’t take my word for it, read it. This can be read as a standalone but I have read the first two and really, really enjoyed those too!
I loved this book! I’ve loved all of the books in this series so far, & I can’t wait for the next one! This book, told by the main character, Wyatt, was great, & I loved Natalie, Wyatt’s love interest, too. I really loved the story of how they found their way to each other; it was fun, it was realistic, & it was romantic. Just so much fun to read!
I really can’t fault this series, despite its cheesy Book titles these books in the Big Rock series really are my ideal kind of romance reads. A bit of swoon, a bit of sexy and a whole lot of hotness.
WELL HUNG is the third book in the Big Rock series and each book is interconnected so although you don’t see much of the previous characters in for example this book each of the characters are linked in someway, this is Wyatt’s story who is the twin brother of Nick Hammer from the book Mister O.
Wyatt is the owner of his own building and joinery business and Natalie is his organized assistant.
Wyatt is overprotective of his business, he’s been stung before in relationships and his business suffered the backlash so when he starts to get feelings for Natalie he fights any desire he may have on making a move and wants to keep his relationship with Natalie strictly professional.
A big job prospect takes both Wyatt and Natalie on a trip to Vegas. Feelings are confessed and both of them agree to make their night in Vegas a night to remember for one night only
Wyatt and Natalie both plan on making the most of their attraction to each other, and for just one night live the full Vegas experience from roller-coaster rides to sex behind a slot machine, they even get hitched with the agreement to get the marriage annulled the next day and then the plan is to go back to being just co-workers.
The problem is what happened in Vegas didn’t stay in Vegas and things get complicated.
I loved it and the characters. The sex scenes are sizzling, I loved the banter and humor and the whole feel-good vibes you get throughout and especially when reaching the happy ending.
Looking forward to Wyatt’s friend’s book next, the hot sexy Doctor.
I am listening to this series in Audio, Sebastian York is just brilliant, I always enjoy his narration.
Audio
What’s better than one sexy audiobook? Four romance novels! Bigger Rock is the only bundle for the #1 NYT bestselling Big Rock series and it’s now available for the first time. That’s 27 hours narrated by Sebastian York for ONE credit!
There were many things I liked about this book. I liked the couple first and foremost. I loved the banter these two had and the sexy times were out of this world.
One aspect that was brought up many times that I was so happy about was regardless if these two were friends or more, there were there for each other. They both went above and beyond to help further each other’s career aspirations. They were each others cheerleader and problem solver. This was really refreshing to read.
I’m not a huge fan of the “lets get married in Vegas as some sort of crazy antic” but I liked that it made these two start dealing with each other in a different way and admit to the feelings they both held.
Seriously funny. Loved reading this story from the guy’s point of view. And the sex scenes were hot!
I absolutely loved the chemistry between Wyatt and Natalie, especially when they let go of their insecurities and pride and let their true feelings show (whether that was in a roller coaster ride or behind a slot machine), but they just let it all out. They were not shy about their desires and letting each other know what they enjoyed and wanted. It showed how comfortable they were with each other sexually which to me revealed that they really trusted each other. Wyatt was betrayed by other women (who he had a professional relationship with), but also got physical with. He didn’t trust himself around Natalie and while deep down inside he knew she was different and he knew she would never betray him, he couldn’t help but have that nagging feeling in the back of his mind that there was still a possibility that she would betray him.
Natalie – was just kick ass, but it was with Wyatt that she mostly revealed herself; revealed her fears and wants. She wasn’t afraid to step up to the plate to get her job done. She was always there for Wyatt. Wyatt – as bad ass as he acted, he was a softie and I saw that through his love for his sister Josie. He wanted to find that love but he was afraid after having had so many failed relationships. Natalie and Wyatt had a lot in common and I loved witnessing their relationship grow from friendship to more. They are definitely two of my favorite characters.
I love Lauren Blakely! I didn’t think I’d enjoy listening to an audiobook. Damn, between the story and the narrator, this story is soooo hot!! Wyatt is sexy, witty, and so sweet despite his delusions of people’s intentions. Or should I say, women’s intentions. Natalie is mischievous, smart, strong, and a perfect fit for Wyatt. I love stories that have Vegas in them. And this one hits all the Vegas high notes. Now I need to go back to the previous books!
Read as part of a boxed set. Pertinent part of review copied here….
I have read several of Ms. Blakely’s books, and remembered why I enjoy reading her world. Warm, funny, witty, sometimes irreverent, and filled with likable characters – every book in this series just delivers.
And, what a joy to read such well edited books! Another note – while told from a first person POV, it is not a continual stream of “I did…” or “I said…”. There is story, detail, thought, opinion, feeling, and description in refreshing variety.
Well Hung (#3) Wyatt & Natalie
Wyatt is Nick’s twin. Natalie is Charlotte’s sister. She lives with Nick and Wyatt’s sister Josie, who took over Charlotte’s apartment when she moved in with Spencer. Got it? Good. Wyatt and Natalie met at Spencer and Charlotte’s wedding, where Natalie approached Wyatt and asked for a job. So now, Natalie is Wyatt’s PA, organizer, and all around business manager. A trip to Vegas ends with the full Vegas experience. You know – a few drinks too many, fun in many forms, and of course, a trip to a little wedding chapel. ‘Cause Vegas baby! With the morning light comes the realization that what happened in Vegas should also stay in Vegas. A trip to Easy Out Divorce and a flight home and all is right with the world. Right? Not. Easy Out turned out to not be so easy. And once certain doors are opened, they aren’t so easily closed. And feelings. Well, once that can of worms is opened, there is really no putting the lid back on. So, how is Wyatt going to navigate this when he has been so badly burned before? Does he take a chance? Or, does he take the way out?
Three out of four of these couples started out as long term friends. They knew tons about each other – likes, dislikes, quirks, and charms. Everyone was likable. And while they path was a bit rocky, it wasn’t tragic or angsty or filled with danger. Just people going through emotions, friendships, and finding love. Light, fun, witty, and well written. What more could you ask for? Enjoy!!
5 Frisky Mittens Stars!!
I absolutely love this friends to lovers romance! It is clever, witty, heartwarming and very hot and sexy! Wyatt is a charming, thoughtful and caring, Master Carpenter. He owns a successful remodeling business in Manhattan that he almost lost after his ex. tried to destroy it. Wyatt hired Natalie as his assistant and she expertly reorganized everything causing it to thrive. Natalie is smart, confident, and fun-loving. Wyatt can’t stop fantasizing about her, but doesn’t want history to repeat itself by mixing business with pleasure. His inner dialog’s are brilliantly hilarious as he catches himself with very dirty thoughts about his very sexy assistant. She not only runs his business effortlessly, but they have a lot in common and have become great friends. When they are offered the chance of a lifetime to work in Vegas, they take it. Unfortunately the job falls through after they arrive. So they decided to make the most of their time there and have the whole Vegas experience. It is a wild and sexy night that includes getting married in a little chapel. But what happens in Vegas didn’t stop there, it followed them home to New York. When promises are made and expectations fall short, will they be able to stay friends and co-workers? Wyatt and Natalie have explosive chemistry but Wyatt realizes that Natalie was never just a hook-up, she is really something so much more. They have fun together, and their banter is witty while discovering each other’s pasts, quirks, hopes and dreams. But will it be enough to remain close while dealing with the fall-out from Vegas? I really liked both Wyatt and Natalie because they felt genuine, honest and relate-able. I also liked getting a glimpse into Natalie’s thoughts thru her texts with her sister. This is a multifaceted story with a depth that is truly satisfying. Their family and friends all make appearances adding to the fun and setting the stage for upcoming stories that I can’t wait to read!
I liked Well Hung way more than I thought I would. It was funny and very cute. I liked Wyatt and Natalie a lot. They were perfect for each other. Their relationship was very easy since Natalie works for Wyatt and things are very casual and fun between them. Well Hung is exactly what you would expect from a Lauren Blakely novel and you will truly enjoy it.
5 ‘Frisky Mittens ‘ stars!!
Eek, I love Wyatt and Natalie so much! They make me all happy-clappy! This book had it all for me. Male POV (my all time fav), light, sexy and a lot of fun times. I was pretty much smiling throughout the whole book.
Lauren Blakely always nails it (heh, nails it) in the Rom-Com department. Such great characters and storyline. I seriously can’t wait for the other 3 books to come out. She’s a writing machine!
This was a very sweet, romantic and sexy read. I loved this new spin on a classic hangover-in-Vegas story, and I loved seeing Natalie and Wyatt’s relationship progress from colleagues (boss/employee), to friends, and finally to lovers. Although they faced many complications – mainly their fears caused by previous lovers – in the beginning of the mutual relationship, it was pretty much low on drama (even though the hero mainly experienced some betrayal from previous lovers, he’s not one of those alpha’s opposed to the even the idea of them being in love, which I loved), and high on sweet moments, as Wyatt himself is pretty quirky, adorkable (but sexy) guy, and Natalie loves that about him; and also high on hot moments. All in all, it’s a nice romantic contemporary read.
3.5 stars
Lauren Blakey is always well written. The characters are awesome, the situations are funny, and there is lots of passion. Nice read.
I love Lauren’s books! She’s one of the few romance authors who write primarily in the male’s point of view, and she nails it every time.
What a fun, flirty and sexy book. Absolutely love Wyatt and Natalie. Just the right amount of sexiness, quirkiness and ohhhh the steam!!! Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down. Roller coasters, ladders and slot machines, oh my! Loved it and highly recommend it!! A must read!
I really liked this book. In spite of the title and cover, which I felt were insulting to the real romance reader, however, seem to be the norm in contemporary fiction. I like Lauren Blakely books and knew it would be an enjoyable read. The story itself was steamy and had some story twists that were interesting. It is part of a series although it was a standalone book.
