USA TODAY bestselling author Sheila Roberts returns with a brand-new series set on the charming Washington coastOnce happily married, Jenna Jones is about to turn forty, and this year for her birthday—lucky her—she’s getting a divorce. She’s barely able to support herself and her teenage daughter, but now her deadbeat artist ex is hitting her up for spousal support…and then spending it on his … up for spousal support…and then spending it on his “other” woman.
Still, as her mother always says, every storm brings a rainbow. And when she gets a very unexpected gift from her great-aunt Edie, things seem to be taking a turn for the better. Aging Aunt Edie is finding it difficult to keep up her business running The Driftwood Inn, so she invites Jenna to come live with her and run the place. It looks like Jenna’s financial problems are solved!
Or not. The town is a little more run-down than Jenna remembers, but that’s nothing compared to the ramshackle state of The Driftwood Inn. Aunt Edie is confident they can return it to its former glory, though Jenna feels like she’s jumped from the proverbial frying pan into the beach fire.
But who knows? With the help of her new friends and a couple of handsome citizens, perhaps that rainbow is on the horizon after all. Because, no matter what, life is always good at the beach.
Featuring all the warmth, romance and trademark humor of Sheila Roberts’s writing, this new series will delight longtime fans and welcome a generation of new readers.

Fiction, beach read
Rating: 4/5
Jenna Jones is a 40 yo divorced Massage Therapist who moves to Moonlight Harbor with her daughter, Sabrina. The resistant 14 year old would prefer to live with her father but he is living in his parents’ basement with his girlfriend, Aurora. Damien Petit, the ex-husband, barely makes a living as an artist and content to live off of support payments from Jenna.
The move to Moonlight Harbor was encouraged by Jenna’s Aunt Edie Patterson, who has been struggling to keep the family owned Driftwood Inn afloat. Since her husband Ralph passed away, it’s just been her and Jolly Roger, the parrot and Pete Long, the lazy handyman.
Jenna decides to exert all her energy and money into renovating the failing inn. She meets the locals and soon starts to settle into life at Moonlight Harbor. Fortunately, Seth Waters moves to town to start his mold treatment business. He moves into the Driftwood Inn and eventually exchanges work for rent during the construction.
This is the first book of the Moonlight Harbor Series. The local characters and their roles are introduced setting the stage for their contribution to the unfolding story.

4 Stars for “Welcome to Moonlight Harbor”
This was a very inspirational read and I would highly recommend it to others to read. This story is full of change and for someone who is very anti-change it put things in perspective for me. I also have a lot of questions (which I will not list her to spoil the story for others) that I hope will be answered in later books. I can’t wait to read more about this little beach town!
I love this author and enjoyed this book as much as her other series.
An Inspirational High! Just finished Moonlight Harbor, loving every word. The story has all the right elements. Recent divorce, struggles in healing, great characters, and just enough stress on the main characters. I recommend!
This whole series is outstanding…waiting for more from this author!
Just ok
This was not a bad book, but it was really a little too light and fluffy for me.
I realy enjoyed this book.
A very nice story! Great for a rainy day read, or at the beach. I like this author!
Moonlight Harbor – an enchanting and magical coastal town! This is book one in Sheila Robert’s new Moonlight Harbor series and it’s just as charming and uplifting as her Icicle Falls series, which I totally devoured. A struggling divorced young mother and her teenage daughter are invited to live with an aging aunt-innkeeper in a small coastal Washington town. What they find is a dilapidated inn, with no means to make the improvements needed. But when did that ever stop a determined woman? You can’t help loving this delightful story, with its ups and downs and amusing characters, seasoned with a splash of romance.
Characters easy to get to know, like and relate to. Easy to read and follow, I hated to put it down and can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Good writing!
This is a new to me author who you will also enjoy the works of! This book will pull you in and make you escape the reality of life into what feels so real of the lives of others. Some of the things that take place have a little twist that you don’t see in every day life. The characters you want to hug and cry with. The plot of the story is remarkable!
