We all have a set of rules.Protect the brotherhood.Provide homage to the Vipers.Keep Cape Hill safe from outsiders. There’s only one problem: Los Desolados. They have other plans, deadly ones we don’t see it until it is too late.Disaster comes in the form of love, that sword of decadence with a sharp tongue and a lithe body.It comes in the form of Hell itself.
I read this book before it came out and I died every single second I spent reading it. An introduction to a new MC series, you can expect this author to do what she does best. Make you mad & make you beg! A quick read but packs a thousand punches!
It’s difficult to rate/review prequel novella’s especially one’s as short as this one.
But I will say If the plan was to get me hooked, it worked. If the plan was to inject a quick shot of pure dark filth into my veins and leave me desperate for more, it worked.
She gave me what I needed and but left me so hungry for more. It’s not everyone who can do that.
For all those things and the fact this was just downright fun to read it gets the 5.
Great intro to Cape Hill that left me wanting more. There were so many breadcrumbs dropped that I hope get picked back up in later books. I became really invested in Absinthe and Hel and would love to learn more about Deaftone. That ending better not be the last I see of them.
While I enjoyed this short story I didn’t really get enough to decide if I would like more. It started out great, gritty and dark; but it soon felt fragmented. While I had issues with this story, I believe its just because it was too short. I might check out the next full length book to see if my possible interest will carry over. Still on the fence however.
4.5 Stars because MC usually isn’t my thing, but this book WAS MY THING. New title and a new look! Still not over Absinthe and this CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY introduction. Welcome to Cape Hill is the perfect opening to the Cape Hill universe and is completely worth every minute of reading! It’s short, but soo jam-packed with drama and twists. Every character has got their own purpose and path; and these paths definitely do not end in this short story… I NEED MORE <3
Never disappointed with CL Matthews and her work.
Received this book as a gift and so glad I got to read it!
5 scorching hot stars!!! I love MC books a lot…but they need to be raw, gritty and dirty or they don’t hold my attention. In my opinion, 1%’s are supposed to be brutal and barely this side of civilized. I found just what I was looking for in Absinthe – unfortunately it was just a snippet and not nearly enough to satisfy my need for more of the Cape Hill Vipers. I enjoyed being introduced to Absinthe (Venom) and Deaftone and cannot wait to get more of them and the Vipers in their full length novels that are scheduled to be released next year. That cliffy is going to KILL ME!!!
Ms. Matthews also starts to give us the backstory on Dante, Xo and Sy from Firsts in this book. I love that her stories are connected; which in the end means I get to see more of the characters I am dying to learn more about. If you like true to life brutality of the MC world in your books, look no further. The Cape Hill Vipers have just what you’ve been looking for.
Omg! I need so much more! Welcome to Cape Hill absolutely sucked me in to the Cape Hill world. The characters are now my best friends and I need to know everything about all of them! CL Matthews packed so much story and detail into this short story, and yet I’m left with more questions than answers. I NEED ALL THE ANSWERS! I loved this book and can’t wait for more!
What a welcome this short story is!
Are you ready grab a cold drink and melt your kindle?
That’s what will happen here. You will feel hot alright.
This intro into a new MC series by CL Matthews is everything you’d want and more. So much so that you’re left wanting even more!
I’m ready to buy a bus ticket to Cape Hill and live and love these men forever!
This is a short story, about the vipers mc president Absinthe. This story is so good wanted more of it. It starts with him finding out they have a rat in his club, with him wanting to find out who it is. We meet Helen she is part of the desolados a rival gang, they have hot chemistry and should hate each other guts but the lust is stronger. I loved it up until the end which I’m not happy, I need more I need answers to what will happen. The book ends in a cliffhanger. Overall I loved it 5 star review.
