Billionaire businessman in need of a fake fiancée… go wrong as long as I can keep my hands off of him.
But that’s the hard part. And I do mean hard.
Because Grant is sexy.
And bossy.
And surprisingly sweet, a real rarity in his pretentious family.
Oops. I’m not as good at faking it as I thought. Or maybe they call this method acting. Because it’s getting harder to figure out where my character ends and I begin…
It just might be the role of a lifetime.
Weekend Wife is a standalone romantic comedy with a sexy billionaire, a sassy heroine, and a Happily Ever After.

I really enjoyed this book. It was fun and interesting to read. Sweet love story.
Somehow even after being married to one man for over 40 years, I still can’t get enough of love conquers all. And…the fantasy of unending money.
“Warning Spoilers” This is the 1st book I read by Erin McCarthy. I’m sorry the beginning of this story is so unbelievable Leah gets hit by a car , Leah leg swells but Grant & Leah’s thinking about sex instead of a hospital . This story’s beginning is too unbelievable for me.
Erin McCarthy and her take on love is just beautiful. We have a businessman in need of great help and a woman trying to be something she has dreamed of for years. I loved how these two think it’s all a game but actually how closer they actually are in real life. Grant is not like a rich snob at all just a man who has well not been well loved until Leah. Man the attraction is all there and seeing Leah working her best part as a weekend wife was great. All in all Weekend Wife by Erin McCarthy is the perfect romance for the holiday bringing two people together and seeing them find love for the first time.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
I loved this book so much!! Erin is one of my OG authors I love all her books but this one takes me back to her old stuff. This book was hilarious I laughed so much.
Who wouldn’t want to be a fake fiancé to a sexy billionaire? Just don’t get attached. Leah just needs to pretend to be Grant’s fiancée for a weekend. A get away in the Hampton’s designer cloths and a big pay day. There is just one problem she is falling hard for him.
Grant wants to continue his no stings attached relationships and running the family business. When he gets a nasty letter in the mail that threatens to destroy all of this he needs a relationship fast. Why not ask the sexy waitress he can’t seem to stay away from? He can do this a weekend of fun and pretending she’s all his. Will it be enough and can he walk away when it’s all over.
Ahhh all the feels and Grants insane family to add to the mix. This book was perfect. I loved the family I really hope there is another book with these characters in it.
A must read for romance lovers
This was a new author for me and I was hooked from chapter one. This book had me really laughing. I appreciated Leah and her go with the flow attitude. I love that Grant thought he could will himself not to like her. The physical chemistry was hot and they characters complimented each other well. The characters were both likable. Grant’s family is insane, and the situations that develop are hilarious. I really liked this book and cannot wait to read more by this author.
Weekend Wife was such a fun laugh out loud romcom !
Leah and Grant prove that opposites certainly do attract and can be very entertaining!
Leah is a actress that is waiting for her next big break but she will wait tables until that happens. She has been serving pancakes every week to a handsome silent stranger but she soon becomes more acquainted than she ever dreamed possible .
Grant is a strong silent business man that has a bit of a crush on a lively little waitress at the diner . He has been going weekly for months but cannot work up the nerve to ask her out . When he leaves a big tip as a goodbye it turns into hey are you an actress , can I hire you for a part , lets go meet my family and hey want to be my fiancé !!!???. He soon finds that his fake girlfriend is now his fake fiancé and oh so much more !!! Loved their amazing chemistry and witty banter.

This is a first read for my by Erin McCarthy.
The Weekend Wife was a nice deviation for me. I haven’t read a simple, witty, funny rom com in a while. Her writing hooked me right from the start. Her witty banter, the teasing, the flirting..it was so much fun. Her characters were enjoyable and the flow of the story made it one easy read!
It’s so nice to be able to sit down and lose myself in a story while the television is one, the kids are in and out, the animals annoying…lol
I loved the fact that I could pick it up and relax. Not have to keep track of what I was reading. Not have to look for that “A-ha” moment. Right from the start you knew what the story was about, what was gonna happen, and what the contention point was going to be. You get to read to ENJOY! No crying, no angst, no cheating, just pure unadulterated fun!
We all know I’m an easy rater…so of course, it’s gonna be a 5 Star read for me and I’m gonna have to check out more of Ms McCarthy’s books!
Sexy, fun, action packed, emotionally thrilling adventure filled with engaging charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and undeniable passion.. excellent reading. Really enjoyed this highly entertaining and fun journey.
Leah has been drooling over, and trying to flirt with, her customer for ages now. The most reaction she ever gets from him, though, is a trace of a smile when she calls out his name in her diner voice. But when she has a slight mishap while chasing him down to give him the $100 bill he accidentally left on the table, their encounter turns into far more than some tentative flirting. It’s practically incendiary! But neither is looking for a big thing, so part ways, never to see each other again. Until…Grant’s jerk of a father pulls something on him that requires Grant have a fiancée. Why shouldn’t he hire Leah, she’s an actress who could clearly use the money. And she’s gorgeous. And he wants her. And he likes her. So there ya go.
Wow, it’s been a banner week for me and romantic comedies. This is the second excellent one in a row. Weekend Wife is sexy and sweet and so much fun. Grant may be bossy but he’s a sweetheart, and Leah is hilarious and sassy and perfect for her very own bossy fake fiancé.
This is the perfect laugh out loud romantic comedy! I loved it!

Weekend Wife seems like the perfect story for a Lifetime or Hallmark movie! This cute Standalone RomCom was light on the drama, with just the right amount of sweet, and I happy sighed when I reached the very happy ending. The main characters have sizzling chemistry that they put to good use, and in very creative ways and places. This romance checks so many boxes, you’ll want to take an afternoon to read and enjoy it!
Leah Romano moved to NYC at eighteen, determined to find work as an actress. Eight years later, she’s not looking for starring roles or fame, Leah just wants to have steady work, doing what she loves. As a way to help pay the rent on her mini apartment she shares with others, Leah works at a kitschy diner, known for the costumes the wait staff wears and singing whenever the mood strikes them.
“It’s all gone too far. I should have stayed in my lane, remembered who I was.”
Grant Caldwell III works for the family business his billionaire grandfather founded in the sixties; he’s the CEO of the real estate division and a bit of a workaholic. His parents felt no need to work, his father owned a sports team and his mother was an heiress so they chose to party and travel instead. Grant thought their marriage was a sham and they were horrible absent parents, he had been raised by his beloved nanny, and this was the reason Grant was single. Now thirty, Grant had no intention of ever being settling down. Strangely, he’d been coming to a diner, for last six months, every Wednesday for breakfast just to waited on by a poodle-skirt wearing, singing waitress.
“I avoided relationships so I didn’t hurt anyone. Maybe who I was hurting was mostly myself.”
After an unlikely accident, Leah and Grant spend a night together knowing it was a one-time deal. Days later Grant’s informed by his father he needs to settle down and be in a relationship or risk losing the position he’s worked so hard for. If only he could find someone to play the part of his fake girlfriend. Someone he can take her to his parents thirty-fifth anniversary party to show her off and get them off his back. Enter stage left…Leah! Grant decides to see her and offer her an acting job, one he’ll pay her very well for, since she’s a professional. But Leah thinks he’s asking her to be an escort, as in Escort, paying her for sex! When they reach a deal that seems to work for both of them, Leah decides she can play the role of loving girlfriend. Until it all goes downhill, when emotions get in the way. Not professional at all!
“Everything had changed. Everything. My life, my future. My understanding of who I was and what I wanted.”
A light and sexy rom com with plenty of steam, this is a quick, fun read. The writing is solid and I enjoyed the tone of the book, but it felt like something was missing. This was steamy from the start, with our couple hooking up early on and I’m not sure that they ever moved past lust. It didn’t have as much depth to the relationship as I would’ve liked, and things moved at an accelerated rate between them.
The story follows Leah, a struggling actress who works as a waitress to pay the bills. There’s a sexy guy who frequently comes into the diner where she works, and she’s been flirting with him shamelessly for months, hoping that someday he’ll reciprocate and they can get naked together. Once Grant shows he’s interested, it’s on and they share a steamy hookup, both thinking it’s a one night stand. But things change when Grant finds himself in need of a fake date, and the only woman he can think of is Leah.
If you’re looking for a quick and steamy rom com that stays light, this might be the book for you. I definitely struggled with the first third of the book – they hook up without feelings then enter into an agreement that felt a little slimy given how they left things between them – but the book hits its stride towards the middle. I liked their phone and text conversations, and would’ve loved more moments like that. All in all, it’s a good read but I can’t call it great. I received an ARC via Social Butterfly PR and am voluntarily leaving a review of this steamy book.
Such a cute story – a opposites attract, fake romance that had me smiling throughout the story.
Leah is this free-spirited actress/part-time waitress who has been spending the past 6 months flirting with a handsome businessman who sits in her section every Wednesday, ordering the same meal and acting a tad bit strange by not really enjoying his meal or looking around the diner, only at his phone. So Leah makes it a little game to get his attention as much as she possibly can. He’s predictable with his $10 tip and she’s happy to see him from week to week. So after one such Wednesday, he leaves a $100 tip and Leah thinks its a mistake and runs after him… and promptly gets hit by a cab and saved by the businessman – Grant.
Grant becomes her knight in shining armor and things escalate between the two fast. Well after 6 months of flirting what do you expect! Thinking its a one and done situation, Leah decides she’s probably seen the last of him. That is until he reaches out to see if she will play his fake girlfriend for a family affair.
This book was fun and sexy and I LOVED these two together. Leah brings down the walls of the staunch businessman and this quickly escalates into an instalove on Grant’s part. The fun really begins when the two of them head to the Hamptons for the weekend to face Grant’s family.
Super fun and sexy. A great quick read full of heart.
I LOVE Erin McCarthy books & Weekend Wife was absolutely amazing!!! It drew me in from the first page, and I couldn’t put it down until I saw how Leah & Grant got their HEA!
Watching these two get to know each other and just be drawn to one another was so swoon worthy! I loved the chemistry!!
If you’re after something light to read that will lift your mood, give WEEKEND WIFE by Erin McCarthy a go. It’s a lot of fun!
When Grant Caldwell’s professional life is put at risk because his single status is seen as detrimental, he sees no choice but to play along until he gets the top job. He’s certainly angry at being manipulated but he’s already got a prospect for the job of a fiancée for the weekend.
Enter Leah Romano, actress-slash-waitress who is waiting for her big break on Broadway. She’s also the person who’s been serving Grant his pancake breakfast each Wednesday for the last six months.
Grant and Leah work so well as a pair. Beyond the wealth and the good looks, these two talk to each other; they open up, they converse and show their vulnerabilities. Coupled with the physical chemistry between them, this book ticks so many boxes of what I look out for in a romance book.
I definitely recommend this book and I’ll certainly be on the lookout for more of this author’s work.
Cute, sexy fun! Leah is terrific as the starving actress/singing waitress that’s so intrigued by the handsome guy that she serves every week but can’t get him to bite when she cute flirts with him. Grant is smitten with the cheerful waitress but resists her charm until an event throws the two together in an intimate situation. These two are so hot and the chemistry is off the charts steamy. Grant is a sexy beast with a bossy attitude and the goods to back up his alpha tendencies. He knows how to treat a girl and there’s a real connection with Leah. When Grant needs a girlfriend and he hires Leah to fill that spot for a weekend with his family. I love that Leah is not crazy impressed with Grant’s wealth. She enjoys his attention but his insane family is a lot to take. Soon the fake turns real for both. This is a fantastic rom com with gorgeous characters in the hunky Grant and the sweet Leah. So much fun and a sexy romance with a terrific ending. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
So good!
I was laughing through the whole book! The banter between Leah & Grant was off the charts!
One of my favorite rom-com’s ever.
Weekend Wife is the role of a lifetime! This was a fun, romantic comedy that I’d love to read again in the near future. My first read by Erin McCarthy and I’m now hooked! Grant and Leah had amazing chemistry from the start, so I love that their fake relationship grew from a friendship they had already established. Filled with witty banter, steamy scenes, and amazing characters. I read this all in one sitting (had my Kindle read it out loud to me at work), and I laughed so much at the most inappropriate times, lol. Weekend Wife is the perfect weekend read to get you ready for Valentine’s Day.
It’s been a fair few years since I last read a book by Erin McCarthy and I’m kicking myself for that massive oversight after reading Weekend Wife.
This is such a fun read, it helps that I love any kind of fake romance but the full book is just fun. The chemistry between Grant and Leah is sizzling, you can feel the attraction between them from the start. A rich workaholic businessman and a singing waitress really shouldn’t work as well as Grant and Leah do. Leah is a brilliant character that I loved. She’s living her life and her personality and outlook really drew me to her. Grant is sweet and sexy. What more can I say? He’s bossy but I kinda like that. He’s a lot more fun than I was expecting and he won me over straightaway.
This is a fun, humorous read that’s full of chemistry and some brilliant characters that will make you fall in love with them.
