Heartrendingly beautiful…this book touches on Mental Illness in the most classy of ways it brought tears to my eyes.
The story of Trey and Willow is one you will fall in love with. Trey a self made millionaire tech guy has been asking Willow out for months but to no avail. He still finds her beautiful and fascinating.
Willow is swamped down caring for her mother and taking on the burden of bills and every day life.
When Trey asks her to be a plus one for a weekend wedding she agrees thinking nothing could possibly go wrong.

Ahhhhh i LOVED Trey! He is like the sweetest guy ever, so not like other billionaire bad boys. And Willow is just as sweet, but holy does she have baggage and some past issues to get past. These two together made me all giddy inside. What a great story this was.
Great book. Fairytale romance. Touches on mental health issues in a realistic way but not too heavy. Liked it!
While this was an entertaining quick read for me, it was also surprisingly emotional. Willow was overwhelmed, exhausted & slightly depressed with the entire situation her life has become. A broken relationship, a severely depressed mother, a father who left, unpaid bills & working two jobs to try not to fall further. This was her reality. She didn’t have time for anything else.
Trey is a gorgeous, sexy multimillionaire who was entranced by Willow. He’d been asking her out for weeks but she kept saying no. Until she finally said yes. What followed was the best weekend of his life. Until she left…
I really enjoyed this story & the way it pulled me in. It seemed like it was going to be all fun and light hearted but it wasn’t. The emotionally charged scenes weren’t out of place & actually drew me further into the story. This story was not what I was expecting but so much more. I need to go back & read the rest of the series.
I have a “Next Read” shelf on my Nook. It is there for a reason. It is overflowing with books that I want to read. When I finish a book I automatically go to my “Next Read” shelf to “grab” a book. Why didn’t I do that this time? It’s simple….I finished a book, opened my email to check out what the book deals were for the day, and saw Stacey Lynn’s fourth book in the Crazy Love series was on sale. I didn’t even think twice. I downloaded Weekend Fling. It didn’t make it to my “Next Read” shelf. I started it immediately after the downloading was complete.
Weekend Fling is a fun, cute, and quick weekend read. It won’t really take you the entire weekend to read, you’ll get to start on a second book, but you’ll get lively banter, a few good laughs, and a whole lotta fun outta Weekend Fling. Can I just say that I want to be Trey’s parents the next time we’re with our adult children….which only means I need to bump it up a notch, I’m halfway there.
This was a one sitting quick read. I was excited to get a new book in this series. Stacy Lynn has quickly become a go to author for me.
Willow has moved back home with her mother after her father leaves. She has a lot on her and is working two jobs. She sees Trey almost daily at her job and he always flirts with her but she never reciprocates. He wants her attention but she won’t give it to him. He needs a date to a wedding and he wants to take Willow. He is finally able to convince her to go with him. I enjoyed watching their relationship begin.
This was a quick read that I really enjoyed.
I found this book to be a very enjoyable read with the good storyline and well rounded characters that kept me turning the pages until the very end!
Willow is working two jobs and helping her divorced mother take care of bills her ex husband saddle her with when he left her. Willow decides she needs a vacation even if Trey is involved with it. Trey is determined to prove to Willow that they can be good together no matter the baggage she is carrying with her. Will Willow give the relationship a chance? A good read that I enjoyed to the last page.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
Can we clone Trey Collins? He is a gorgeous, kind, self made tech millionaire, who has been coming into Java Joe’s every morning for coffee and to look at Willow Parks, the barista. He keeps asking her out, but she turns him down, because she is overwhelmed by too much going on in her life and at the moment does not trust men. Six months ago her full time live in boyfriend, Scott, walks into their home, tells her he is bored and she needs to move out. A year ago her father inexplicably left her mother and has also been incommunicado with Willow. Her mother became a basket case, so Willow had to move back into her family home, to take care of her mother and is working two jobs trying to keep up with all the bills, so her mother doesn’t end up losing their home.
Trey needs a date for his best friend’s wedding, and at the urging of her friends and even her mother, Willow agrees to go away for the weekend, she needs a break and some fun, which Trey promises he will deliver. While she intends to have just a weekend fling, he intends on having them get to know each other better. And Willow is having a wonderful time with Trey, his friends and even his kooky parents until she gets a call that her mother has been hospitalized.
Aside from a romance, the book explores relationships, the abusive behavior when one member isolates the other from their support group, (i.e. friends and family), mental illness and family dynamics, all in a beautifully written story.
I read an ARC from NetGAlley.com. this is my voluntary and unbiased review
I liked Willow and Trey’s story and although I’m not sure this falls into the “insta-love” category, it sure feels close (full disclosure: I’m not a huge fan of insta-love. Insta LUST is fine, however). I vacillated on whether I thought Trey was charmingly persistent or annoyingly pushy but ultimately, I liked how he was invested in whatever it was that was going on with Willow. I felt that the conflict with Willow and her dad “ended” a little too quickly – I wasn’t resolved but considering he’d truly acted like a jerk, he deserved to be dressed down much more than he got, IMO. I also liked how this dealt with the subject of mental health in a way that was realistic and not “preachy”.
And maybe I’m old and I know I’ve been happily married and out of the dating game for a long time, but do people really go away with people they don’t know for the weekend? I get that they “knew” each other from the coffee shop and Trey was a public figure of sorts but that seemed an odd decision to me and kept popping into my head during their time away – it was a bit of a distraction for me. Overall, a solid 3.5 stars.
Returning home after a failed relationship, Willow Parks vows to not ever put herself in the position to depend on a male again. She spends her days working two jobs so her mom doesn’t lose her home and caring for her mom. So there’s really not any time for a personal life anyway. Her mom is broken and can barely get herself out of bed since her husband left her and filed for divorce. Willow knows she needs professional help, but can’t convince her mom to get help. Willow sees how devastating depending on a man to provide, take care of all the bills can be. So when Trey approaches her for a date, she turns him down.
Trey Collins, a multi-million dollar tech mogul, has eyes for Willow. He has tried multiple times to ask her out, but she always turns him down. He even visits, works from the coffee shop so he can see her daily. He knows she’s always there and always works hard, but it’s the rest of the package that has him so intrigued. He figures if he can just convince her to go on one date, he can convince her to give him a chance. Opportunity finally presents itself and he convinces her to be his date for a weekend getaway for his best friend’s wedding. Knowing that she could use an all-expense paid vacation, she agrees. When the amazing weekend comes to an abrupt halt due to a family emergency, the walls go back up and she pushes Trey away…
Stacey Lynn has written a beautiful story touching on realistic, emotional, and heavy topics. Depression, attempted suicide, and dependency are tough topics addressed throughout this novel. As an only child, who mistakenly thinks her dad has abandoned them, Willow struggles to get her mom help. Her mom neglected the house, the bills, and anything that once mattered to her. Willow comes home to a house basically in foreclosure and is doing her best to pay the bills while NOT becoming her mom. Trey is a true Prince Charming. He’s supportive without being needy. He doesn’t just step in, take over, and pay the bills. He leaves Willow to make her own decisions and choices because he knows that’s what she needs. While this story ends in a HEA, the topics discussed are serious and realistic. I highly recommend this novel. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
It’s fun and heartwarming story. It has characters you will love. I enjoyed the connection and banter. I loved the steamy chemistry between the characters. I enjoyed reading their journey as some obstacles were overcome. It’s a story not to be missed.
A good entertaining read from the first page to the last. Hot, smoking billionaire pursues beautiful and captivating barista who doesn’t feel that he is serious or admit that she wants to be with him. What will it take for him to get his foot in the door and convince her that he is serious about them getting together? In this case, Trey decides to invite Willow for a weekend of fun at his best friend’s beach wedding. Willow has been dealing with a lot of upheaval in her life and decides to take her friend’s advice and grab some fun in the sun with Trey. Willow soon discovers just how far out of her league Trey is with his private plane and rich friends, but she also learns that he is one of the good guys in how he treats and reacts with his family in friends. Just when things are going well, a crisis at home strikes and Willow runs. Trey soon follows, but gets shot down and told to back off. You will have to read the book to see if Trey can ever convince Willow that he is truly on of the good guys and see if Willow can get past all the hurt and angst in her life to build a loving future with Trey and his friends.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you Netgalley and the publisher.
Willow has had to move back home to take care of her mother, who has been dealing with serious depression ever since her father left. Willow just went thru a painful divorce, and needs to take her life back, moving back home was not something she envisioned for herself. No matter how much Willow tried to convince her mother to seek help, she would not agree. In order to make ends meet, Willow now works two jobs.
Working as a barista she’s always meeting interesting people. One in particular, Trey Collins, keeps asking her out but she always turns him down. How can she think of going out and having fun, when her mother is usually out of it. Trey is not one to give up, he has a wedding in a seaside resort in California and needs a date for the weekend festivities. He assures her they will have separate rooms, and this way they can get to know each other better. Willow does really like him, gives him credit for being so persistent, so she eventually agrees. Her best friend will check on her mom on a daily basis.
Getting away with Trey is the best thing she’s ever done. They are having the time of their lives and Willow loves his friends. Their weekend is cut short when her friend calls and tells her mom is in the hospital and tried to take her life. Rushing out of the wedding, Willow doesn’t even give Trey an explanation of what happened. How can she get involved with someone, when her life is such a mess. It’s a good thing Trey believes they would be good together and doesn’t give up on her. He’s proven to her that a relationship is possible, if she allows herself to it.
I really enjoyed this wonderful book. It brought out how serious depression can be if left untreated. A must read..
I received a copy of this arc in exchange for an honest review.
A fun and flirty romance with strong context fused into the story.
I was thrilled to find out that Trey was getting his own story in Weekend Fling. If you’ve read the previous standalones in the Crazy Love Series, then you know the type of man Trey is. Part irresistible hunk, part sexy nerd, Trey is completely lovable and downright swoonworthy. And Willow….poor sweet, jaded Willow. I completely empathize with her and the daily struggles she endures. With her past experience with men and her current situation with her Mom, it’s no surprise when she initially turns down Trey’s too-good-to-be-true offer of a weekend away. But when Willows finally accepts Trey’s offer, she soon realizes that just one weekend clearly isn’t enough as feelings and emotions become involved.
Weekend Fling was a great read! I truly enjoyed the dynamic between Trey and Willow. It was very enjoyable to read how their relationship blossomed the more time they spent together, learning more about one another. Their attraction was evident from chapter one, but to see their growth and resilience as a couple is what really shined the most in the story.
This series is a definite must-read! Each story is a standalone, but I love it when the author incorporates all the characters into each story. The perfect balance of funny, sweet, and emotional, Weekend Fling is an entertaining and highly recommended quick read.
A lot can change in a weekend, as this fast-paced, sexy yet also heavy book shows. Stacey Lynn’s writing won me over with Fake Wife and kept me hooked for the whole series. While this book isn’t my favorite in the series (that honor still goes to Fake Wife), I really enjoyed the first half and getting to feel the chemistry between this couple as it plays out over a weekend. Ultimately, the post-weekend portion of the book felt rushed and focused too much on real world issues for me to call this 5-stars, but it wraps up the series perfectly.
The story follows Willow, an overworked woman whose mother is not handling her divorce well, forcing Willow to pick up the slack. She’s recently dumped, broke, and spending every spare minute she has trying to dig herself out of the hole she finds herself in. There’s a hot guy, Trey, who frequents the coffee shop she works at, and he’s been asking her out for months without any luck. When he ups the ante and asks her to attend an out of town wedding with him over the course of weekend, Willow can’t resist escaping reality for a few days… knowing that a fling is all she’s capable of at the moment. But Trey’s been pursuing Willow too long to give up so easily, and he’s determined to show her that it’s worth exploring something lasting.
I loved the concept and seeing the weekend play out in depth. We get to see the chemistry between these two and the attraction continue to build over the course of the weekend, but a lot of that felt sexual and somewhat insta-lovey. I wanted to see more of what happened post-wedding, when they’re living their everyday lives. From previous books in the series, we know Trey can be a workaholic who doesn’t take care of himself when he’s working on a project, but Weekend Fling really just focuses on the good parts of him. While that’s not necessarily a bad thing, it felt a little superficial, like Willow is the only one whose life is complicated. Things do get pretty heavy towards the end (some triggers regarding mental health here), and while I appreciated that, it also took the focus off of developing Willow and Trey’s relationship. I did love how prominently characters from the previous books were featured – it still easy stands alone from the others, but fans of the series will appreciate seeing the characters they’ve read about in the past. If this is the last book in the series, it definitely wrapped things up in a satisfying way. I received an ARC via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review of this book.
Drowning in the stressors of life, an impromptu somewhat inappropriate proposition seems like a great idea… almost as great as the guy making it!
Weekend Fling is about the best guy ever, Trey. If you haven’t already been stalking this crew- shame on you! I’m partial to nerds with jock bodies and amazing…hearts. Trey, dear Trey, is all that and more. With a proposal to be his date for his best friend’s weekend wedding, the possibilities become endless. Hope, romance, and lust pollute the air and with it we wait to see the choices Willow makes.
3.5 stars
Weekend Fling definitely lives up to the Crazy Love series standards.
While I did feel like Willow was acting like an idiot for a hot minute, I quickly got over that. I absolutely love this series and can’t wait for more!!
5 stars!
I love books that are little unexpected treats, so I was pleasantly surprised with Weekend Fling, the 4th book in the Crazy Love series. I went into it thinking it was going to be a sweet read, about a fun filled romance involving a weekend fling and maybe a little bit more. It soon became apparent it was an emotional story; dealing with a topic quite a few of us are familiar with, mental illness. Don’t let this throw you off, just go in with an open mind. Written in a compassionate and lovingly story, dealing with sacrifices made for a loved one, this issue is discussed in a way that will move you to tears.
“Nothing in life is guaranteed, including escaping with a heart that’s never been broken.”
Willow Parks has been dealt some hard blows lately. She’s been having to deal with the repercussions left from her painful divorce, she never expected to have to move back home, and she’s emotionally and physically exhausted. Willow has the added burden of taking care of her mother who is unable to pick up the pieces of her own life, after she falls apart and is unable to deal with the devastation over the loss of her own marriage to Willow’s father. Working two jobs to support them is all she has time for; even if she had wanted to date she just doesn’t have the time.
“I’m not generally a lay-your-cards-on-the-table kind of guy, preferring to keep them close to my vest with those I don’t know well.”
Trey Collins, a self-made tech billionaire, has been admiring the gorgeous barista at the coffee shop he goes to every day. She doesn’t flirt back, and he’s not even sure if he’s her type, but he’d like to convince her to give him a chance. When he needs a date for an upcoming wedding, at an exclusive sea-side resort, Trey manages to convince Willow to accompany him. This could be just the escape they both need, to relax and get to know each other.
“But it might be time to throw all those cards down, faceup, if I want a chance with this woman.”
The weekend is cut short unexpectedly when Willow receives some bad news that she insists she deal with on her own, Trey feels like she’s shutting him off and closing down. He refuses to go quietly, luckily for Willow.
“He’s proven he’ll be by my side when I need it, helping me, strengthening me, instead of expecting me to be the one who always bend.”
Willow had known what it was to give up everything for a man, making sacrifices and never expected to be emotionally supported by Trey, but he proved he could be someone she could depend on.
“I should have trusted him the day he showed up, ready to help, willing to listen, wanting to give me everything I need.”
Willow’s rejected Trey a hundred times and he keeps asking her out. She doesn’t have the time or the inclination to go out, not when she’s working two jobs just to squeak by as her mother wallows at home in her depression. Until she takes him up on his offer, surprising them both. Will Trey be able to show her how good they could be? Will she let him into her life, into her heart? Or will her mother’s situation be too much for her to admit to him?
Wow, this really was not what I had been expecting. The title lead me to believe it would be a fun, fluffy read about a fling turned more. It was deeper and more substantial than that, touching on heavy subjects like mental illness and its affects on the people who deal with that illness. Through it all, Trey was absolutely amazing. I’m talking 5 stars, Grade A bbf material. He was an absolutely saint and really made the story for me. I had a much harder time with Willow, but I did feel for her, as her situation was not an easy one.
This is a great read, not what I had expected, but more, and thoroughly readable.
