Although Wedding Wishes can be read as a standalone, it follows the love story of Caleb and Ellie from Mr. Maybe (The Matchmaker Series): https://amzn.to/2WOP7mb *When Caleb LaClaire put the engagement ring on my finger, I thought it was a done deal. Now it’s three months before our wedding. The date is set. The dress is just right. But the groom is not ready. It starts with a feeling that … starts with a feeling that something is not right. He’s pulling away. I don’t understand why.
Then out of the blue, he breaks my heart. The wedding is off and he won’t tell me why. Maybe I already know.
Before we fell in love, he was allergic to relationships. Maybe marriage is too far out of his comfort zone.
But where does that leave me?
Heartbroken and determined to forget him, I prepare to move on with my life. But my heart refuses to let him go. I need answers before I can start again. The only way is to come face to face with the man I loved and lost.
What if my heart gets broken all over again?

Our hero calls off the wedding just months before it occurs, but won’t tell anyone why.
This is part of the Wedding Season, a loosely connected series of stories all sharing a common theme, in this case weddings. Each story is written by an established author, but beyond the theme, they are all standalone stories. Read one or read them all at your leisure.
I found this story to be different in a couple of ways. First, it is a sequel of sorts to a previous short story by this author from the Matchmaker series. Second, this one had a bit more angst than the others that I have read. There are some tough twists and turns in this one and emotions are running high, but one thing about this series is that the all guarantee and HEA. How they get there is another matter.
Highly recommended.

A short but enjoyable read. Nice storyline and plot. This was a very sweet instant romance. I was caught from first to last page. I liked the characters and how the interact with each other. Everything happens fast but still it feels right. A story with real life problems but still handled with a nice writing style and amazing use of words. I liked the update on characters from previous stories. The characters develop nicely through the story.
I like it is written in dual POV which gives the reader more of the feelings and thoughts of the characters. Nice that there is an epilogue and also a bit of mystery in it.
Would have liked a bit more depth in the story in some places because it seems to flat and fast. This is especially when he is with his family. But absolutely worth the time and read.
Ellie and Caleb are three months from their wedding when he comes home from a business trip and tells her he can’t marry her. Heartbroken Ellie doesn’t know what to do. She tries reaching out to him but he doesn’t take her calls. His brother tries and its the same. Caleb has retreated from everyone he loves and no one knows why. So Ellie and his brother decide that they are going to go together and confront him about what’s going on. However nothing could’ve prepared them for what he tells them. Will they get their happy ever after? Can Ellie forgive him for keeping his secret?
This is an amazing story about how true love can truly survive anything. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Will Ellie and Caleb have their happily ever after?
This is my sixth book by Dori and the continuing story of Caleb and Ellie. Caleb has been withdrawing from Ellie as their wedding draws closer until he calls off the wedding. Ellie is struggling to understand what happened and her son, Justin only wants her to get back together. Caleb has been drinking himself into oblivion trying to get over letting Ellie go for her own good. Will Ellie be able to convince Caleb to give life a chance? You have to read to find out and will definitely cry a few tears over this one.
First I recommend you read Dear Mr. Maybe by Dori Lavelle in the Matchmaker series so you know how Caleb and Ellie end up together. It’s a great read and will help you understand this couple. In this book Caleb breaks off his engagement to Ellie three months before the wedding with no explanation. Everything this couple go through had me breaking out the Kleenex. Loved this heartbreakingly beautiful story.
An absolutely fantastic read with a storyline that is well thought out and emotionally deep. The characters Caleb and Ellie face a number of heartbreaking issues that test their love. Their story ended beautifully with a surprise twist. Definitely recommended!

This was just what we needed. If you read the Matchmaker series, here we get Ellie and Caleb and Justin again. Finally, their wedding. I got angry, I cried, and I was left smiling at the end. This was everything we didn’t know we needed. I could feel their love and their desperation and I’m so glad we got to see their happily ever after.

Engaged and ready to walk down the aisle soon. A sweet night a lovemaking after your man, has been out of town. Pillow talk about the wedding? About the week? About your kid, he adores? Nope none of that. I loved this story, about not trusting the one you love, or your family, to get you through, and the blessings of love!
Wedding wishes do come true
Wow! This story almost tore me to shreds. I remembered Dear Mr. Maybe but decided to reread so it was fresh in my mind to then be torn apart but thankfully put back together in the end. Ellie and Caleb had my heart caught in my throat. Both of them are strong but together they are invincible.
Wedding Wishes by Dori Lavelle a five-star read that will make your wishes come true. This was my all time fave of the Flirt Club Wedding season series, I recommend you get yourself a big glass of something nice and a pack of tissues as both will come in handy. I adored Caleb and Ellie from Mr Maybe, (you don’t need to have read that one first, but it’s also amazing). This was so good, it made me blue and then it made me whole again. The writing is great and the characters have so much heart you wont be able to stop falling in love with them.
