When a heartless killer ruins a Valentine’s Day wedding, teddy bear shop manager Sasha Silverman vows to solve the crime . . . At the Silver Bear Shop and Factory, Sasha will be selling plenty of bride and groom teddy bears come springtime. But this Valentine’s Day weekend, she’d take any of those silent, stuffed couples over the real thing. Sasha and her sister Maddie are bridesmaids at Cissy … Davidson’s upcoming wedding in Silver Hollow. Cissy is fuming over the worst choice of best man—the jerk who broke her sister Debbie’s heart—and the groom-to-be won’t budge in his decision. At the rehearsal dinner you could cut the tension with a wedding cake knife. That is, until best man Dylan is found dead, impaled with an ice pick. Although jilted Debbie is the most likely suspect—the blood on her dress doesn’t help her case—the bride begs Sasha to prove her sister’s innocence. If anyone’s going to walk down the aisle, Sasha will first need to find the cold-hearted killer who iced Dylan . . .

Author Meg Macy delivers a snuggly cozy chocked full of fun details in Wedding Bear Blues. As with previous books in this series, I was charmed with the rich, sparkly details surrounding the Silver Bear Shop in Silver Hollow, MI. The protagonist, Sasha Silverman, manages the family shop; has two of the cutest little dogs—Sugar Bear and Rosie, plus her cat, Onyx—and a great boyfriend, Jay Kirby, who’s a carver of both wood and ice, and an animal lover, also.
Sasha is to be a bridesmaid for bridezilla, Cissy Davison, and it’s a decision Sasha fast regrets. Both sides of the wedding party have past and/or current indiscretions and secrets that threaten a smooth wedding ceremony.
Despite the seriousness of murder surrounding the nuptials; humor makes an appearance throughout the story. Suspicious men appear at the bear shop with odd questions that make Sarah wonder if illegal drug smuggling is involved. Around halfway through the story, I had an idea of who the murderer might be, and sure enough, I was right! I enjoyed the intricate plot, and I’m looking forward to book five. I highly recommend this charming series to cozy fans!
I honestly reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and Kensington Publishing. All opinions are my own. Thank you.
I may have missed the last book in this series, I don’t remember reading three, however, this is fine as a stand alone. It’s an amiable cozy with the characters trying to do the right things for their families and the community. The author does a nice job of tying in the backdrop of the bear store and factory with the events that occur. I particularly liked the first chapter.
The patience that Sasha and Maddie show towards the bridezilla in the book rang a little false. For someone who is an acquaintance and barely one at that for Sasha, Sasha and Maddie put up with an awful lot with little complaining. It’s not a story line I’m fond of.
There are a few unexpectedly darker elements as well, all involving children which may put some readers off. The author doesn’t delve too deeply or linger long, but they are there.
I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
