This is part of a series. Its fun and relaxing. The characters are down to earth and respectful of each other.Settle in for a sweet read.
I have been waiting for this story to celebrate the union between Jenny and Luke. I feel like this book brought the series full circle and I really enjoyed the events leading up to the wedding and finding the perfect dress, cake, and everything else for Jenny’s special day. I received and advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
A fun read with down to earth situations. Luke and Jenny were planning their wedding, Alice was adjusting as a new mother, Charlotte as a newly-wed married to the Mayor, Landis and Clair adjusting to each other and retirement. New character Astor and Posey added more interesting story lines.
These friends, family, and neighbors were willing to help, support, and share ideas for each others success. Good read with positive attitudes.
As a DIYer myself, I’m captivated by Susan Schild’s main character, Jenny. In this 4th installment of life at the Lakeside Resort, Jenny is still learning new skills and achieving major makeovers that are fun to follow and see unfold. And there’s a bit of mystery thrown in. Who’s threatening the quiet and safety of her retreat? What about her plans to expand? So in addition to being reunited with Jenny and her man Luke – and Jenny’s dogs, Buddy and Bear, and miniature horse, Levi, there’s a whole new layer in this book to complicate wedding plans and keep the reader turning pages until the very end. Surely there will be a book # 5. I have to know what Jenny builds next!
I have been looking forward to returning to the Lakeside Resort for a long time, and the latest installment was worth the wait! Jenny is such a wonderful main character — sympathetic and full of heart — and her all-encompassing romance with Luke is something she truly deserves. It’s impossible not to be happy for her and celebrate how her life has unfolded. I enjoyed reading about the lead-up to the wedding, interspersed with family, friends, and challenges in and around the resort. What a beautiful and satisfying next chapter in this love story!
