Lucy’s found her husbands… now she just has to get them to marry her.Lucy has her sights set on strong Highlanders Steen and Hugh, but one won’t give her the time of day, and the other is being relentlessly pursued by another woman. When her luck with the hot, hunky Highlanders starts to change, dark powers throw the entire village into turmoil. Hugh and Steen need to take up swords and fight … and fight for their lassie. But how can a baker and a fisherman defeat a powerful sea creature?
This is a cozy Victorian Highland ménage in a reverse harem world aligned with supernatural forces. Charmed meets Outlander. There are elements of ménage and domestic discipline. Cakes will get baked. Water nymphs will get buckets of water thrown at them. And there’s a HEA (and no cheating). This is NOT a serial, but it is a series.

Excellent story of Lucy, a 26 year old in 1874 Glenash, Scotland. In Glenash, women generally marry two men as it is a rough life. If one dies, there is someone left to support the woman and her children. Lucy has her eye on Steen, the local baker, who returns the admiration. Then there is Hugh, a local fisherman, who secretly loves her but is frequently exasperated by her. The village and woods are full of spirits who match people together at the yearly Circle Dance. As the dance approaches, Lucy gets herself into several mishaps. Will the spirits match her with Steen and Hugh? If they do, will the pair still want her or is she too much trouble? This is a quick, steamy read, great to lose yourself in an afternoon, leaving you wondering how to find your own Steen and Hugh! Looking forward to book 2 in the series!
Quick, steamy read that I found a bit clunky at times. Certain elements of the story didn’t quite fit right, but to each their own, I guess. This story may not have been something I like, but that doesn’t mean others won’t like it; this is my opinion after all.

I do not know if it is because I read at this time mostly historical romance, and even if some can be steamy, it is no erotica read, while this book was erotica, a little too much for my taste.
After the idea of a town where women get two husbands to provide and protect them in case of something arriving to one of them, it was kind of new and rather entertaining.
After the magic side of the story was attractive, but as it was a short read, it lacked of something.
A 3.5 stars rate.
Lucy is in love with Steen, and in is frustrated with Hugh’s presence. The Circle Dance is approaching, a moment to find her husbands. She’s elated when Steen asks her for a walk, but another female wants his attention. Hugh is enthralled with Lucy, and wants only the best for her.
The villagers often mate in threes. Some only in couples. But Lucy knows her heart lies with Steen, and Hugh.
When nymphs and other supernatural creatures intervene in their relationship, what will Steen and Hugh do to possess the woman they love? How far will Lucy go to protect those she loves?
I found Wedded to the Highlanders an endearing and wonderful read. It was a page-turner that I couldn’t put down. I can’t wait for book 2!
This is a fun and delightful read. The author succeeded in writing the way the highlanders would talk. I enjoyed reading the different words they used. I liked how this was about the courting of Hugh. Steen and Lucy. It was the custom of their village that there would be two men for one woman. The men did not woo her in a traditional way but were unique in letting her know they adored and loved her. I loved the characters. They were so different from each other and they were realistic. Lucy was adorable. She tried to always make the right choices but somehow always got into some kind of trouble. Steen, the baker’s son, was in love with Lucy. He was an affable young man. He was confident in himself and knew what was best for himself and for Lucy. He had no problem disciplining her. Hugh, a fisherman by trade, was a self sufficient man. He was sterner than Steen but had a soft spot for Lucy. Lucy had confided in Steen and Hugh that she knew she needed guidance in her daily life decisions. Steen and Hugh had no problem accommodating her. What a treasure they found in each other guided by the spirit of the river, forest and the sea. A quick and fun read.
It was 1874 in Glenash, Scotland. It was widely believed the spirit world brought people together and made matches in time for the Circle Dance each year. If they danced together, their hearts would intertwine, and they had three days to consummate. If they did, they would remain bound to one another for the rest of their lives. If they didn’t, it was assumed they were permitted to go their separate ways. It wasn’t known for sure.
Officially, it was called the Annual Glenash Highland Fling, but everyone in the village just referred to it as the Circle Dance.
Lucy was the best baker in the village. Unfortunately, she had a terrible habit lately of making bad decisions or making a bad situation worse. She didn’t know what was wrong with her. She was in love with two men, Hugh, a fisherman and Steen, a baker himself and son of the bakery owners. What happens looks like Fate and Murphy’s Law flipped a coin and these three individuals are in a constant turmoil. It’s funny, sad, passionate, frustrating all at once as Katie Douglas lays out a storyline that is completely irresistible.
Oh my stars and garters, this is a totally wonderful story. It’s got romance, passion, spanking, and humor. It’s just marvelous.
There’s a small village in the Scottish Highlands where women marry two men because it’s important to make sure that the women are taken care of if something bad happens, since the men are generally fishermen and they have a dangerous job. Lucy, a wonderful baker, wants to have Steen be one of her husbands and wants Hugh to be the other, but she’s pretty sure that Hugh hates her now.
Katie Douglas has balanced humor in with the romance and the conflict in the story. There’s a nice amount of heat and a sprinkling of the fantastic. I really loved reading the story, it was just a delightful book to read on a lovely day, and one that made me really happy to have read. I love Lucy, I’ve felt just like her in the past, which makes her kind of endearing and relatable. Steen and Hugh are pretty awesome too, and I think it will really take both of them to make sure that Lucy is taken care of well.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I’m sure that the trio in that group will be just as interesting as the trio in this one.
Wonderfully romantic story. I really enjoyed the beginning of this story it made me laugh. The story kept me entertained all the way thru. The characters are well created and very engaging. The missing cat kept me smiling. A lovely fantastical story. I particularly enjoyed the mystical elements. Looking forward to more in this world.
