A new Southern Roots standalone…Magnolia Ellington is all too aware that dangerous things can come in shiny packages. Her husband made sure to teach her that. Desperate to escape his wrath–and his fists–she flees in the dark of night. Seeking safety and shelter with the only family she has left, Magnolia finds herself in the sleepy, Southern town of Dogwood–and in the arms of Simon … Dogwood–and in the arms of Simon McAllister.
Simon has always been more of a thinker than a doer. That changes the minute he meets shy and mysterious Magnolia. She has him rushing into action, ready and willing to do whatever it takes to earn her trust.
Slowly, with his steadfast determination and kind heart, Simon brings Magnolia out of her shell. But just as things start heating up between the two of them, the darkness of Magnolia’s past resurfaces, threatening to rip apart everything they’ve worked so hard for.
With their future hanging in the balance, Simon fears he’s losing Magnolia. Now, he must convince her that, together, they can weather the storm.
Please note: This title can be read as a complete STANDALONE.

ALL THE FEELS!!!
I love a good emotional story every now and again….okay, lets not kid ourselves…I’m all about the angst! After reading Coming Up Roses, I was intrigued by Magnolia and I couldn’t help but wonder what she was hiding. After reading An Uphill Battle, that intrigue tripled! I needed this woman’s story and I needed it now!
Weather The Storm is an emotionally conflicting story of one woman who’s on the run from a horrible past filled with physical and emotional abuse, If spousal abuse is a trigger for you, definitely go into this novel with your eyes open.
L.K. Farlow blew me away with Magnolia and Simon’s novel. My heart was in my throat several times throughout this story. I cried, I laughed, and I swooned over Simon.
Overall, because of the angst and emotional situations in this novel, I decided to not go into a full depth review given the fact that SPOILERS ARE EVIL. Just know this, I seriously…almost….cried! This novel is worth the 1-click! Congrats goes out to L.K. Farlow for…ALMOST…making me cry.
Amazing story!! And my favorite of the series!! Simon and Magnolia’s story is very sweet with some gritty suspense thrown it to really make it good!! It grabbed my attention from the beginning and kept me captivated until the very end.
Finding peace. Finding love. Finding a home.
I had been anticipating the third book in LK Farlow’s Southern Roots series since I read the first two books within a week of one another and I can safely say this book was worth the wait and is definitely my favourite of the series. I had been intrigued by Magnolia ever since she was introduced back in Coming Up Roses and it was clear she had a story to tell. And Simon, he seemed like the perfect guy to find out Magnolia’s secrets and help her move forward.
This romance was absolutely heartbreaking at times, when the extent of Magnolia’s past was finally revealed I felt sick to my stomach upon reading what she had been through. And her inner dialogue that she constantly had to fight – I loved the authenticity and genuineness of it and that the author didn’t make solving Magnolia’s issues something easy!! And Simon – his background was just as shocking and I liked that this gave him a real personal connection to Magnolia even if it was for terrible reasons. And Simon’s protectiveness was so very swoon worthy and made me fall for him that much more
Kate (author LK Farlow) has come such a long way with her writing since her debut novel and it shows!! Weather the Storm is her best work yet and I can only see good things in her future. I’m more than looking forward to whatever Kate writes next and I’m so glad she’s one of my must read, one click authors.

The sweetest, swooniest and oh so hot Simon! I loved this book so hard! This book was beyond yummy!! You had your angst, suspense, steaminess, and the moments that just take your breath away. This is my new favorite of this amazing series by LK Farlow. Simon and Magnolia tugged at my heartstrings and kept me at the edge of my seat making this book unputdownable. Yes I just made that up. It’s hard to say anything that will make this story justice.
You will fall in love with Simon, the high-school teacher, with his protectiveness and kindness. I felt for Magnolia and the past she’s running from. But above all is the group as a whole protects and watches eachother’s backs. Relationships between them and the friendship together is one to be envied. Doesn’t matter that Magnolia is new to the close-knit group, when they love and protect her like they’ve known her all their lives. Which causes her to slowly open up to her new found friends. Especially when danger is around the corner, she’ll need them more than ever. Best part is, they are all there for her no matter what, especially Simon.
Amazing must read told in dual POV. Third book of the Southern Roots series with interconnected characters, but a complete standalone. LK Farlow outdid herself with Weather the Storm! I can’t wait for the next one.
Out of all of the books in the Southern Roots series, I think this one is my absolute fave! There is just something so hot about Simon and his protectiveness over Magnolia. Plus he’s a teacher! Hello professor!!! The one thing about this story is the twists and turns it takes. Magnolia is such a tortured soul with a heartbreaking history. But I love how Simon brings her out of her shell. They really gel together as they navigate through friendship to relationship. Enter the douche ex and all hell breaks loose. But the one thing I found with this story is no matter what, Simon fights for who he loves. Magnolia took a bit to get to the point of not wanting to run but I cannot say that I blame her. She loves with all her heart when it comes to her friends.
Overall, this was a great romance story with just the right amount of twists and turns to keep you on your toes. I giggled and swooned and I also wanted to yell at moments! This is a great addition to the series and if you haven’t read them, I would recommend them in a heartbeat!
