GET THIS BOOK!!!!
This is such a great beginning to the Lynx Series! I devoured this book, it was an intoxicating read right from the start. I’ve never read any of Fiona’s books before but I am hooked now.
The story building in this book is phenomenal and the characters are spot on. The leading lady has a few ‘out of the ordinary’ skills and one of the strongest personalities I’ve read. If you like action packed, with a building, budding relationship, this is for you. This isn’t a mushy romance! This is full of mystery, intrigue and suspense!
Again, get this book and then the next! You will love it!
Weakest Lynx by Fiona Quinn
Let’s start by saying that I did enjoy this book.
But… Boy howdy is it surreal. Let’s start with the fact that it’s clearly the second book of series – or even the first of a second trilogy, say. Except it isn’t – it’s the first book in a series.
It’s constantly referencing LOTS and LOTS of stuff that happened earlier, like we should know it from reading those earlier (non-existent) books.
Then there’s the Schrödinger’s husband. Both there and not there. He exists but conveniently isn’t there, or even in communication. A pure plot device.
Then, getting psychic support from someone(s) in a different hemisphere. One would have at least have thought a mention of differing time zones (e.g. if it’s daylight in DC, is it night there…) would have happened. It FELT very like they weren’t real people, either, just another plot device.
The poker playing neighbour who conveniently can provide everything Lexi needs restore her house for free.
The heroine who’s supposed to be a super kick-ass martial artist type – who mostly has to be rescued by the hunky gorgeous men protecting her. (Yeah, yeah, there’s background to explain that – but again, it feels like the author contrived the situation so that our competent girl doesn’t have to be.)
The community college courses she’s doing. While incommunicado in a safe house!?!?!?
I could go on.
I WISH I could believe that the surreality of this book was intended, not underdeveloped writing.
All that having been said, the writing (in terms of putting words and paragraphs together) was fine. Very few spelling or grammar mistakes. That counts for a lot in my book.
Loved it! A great mix of action and romance, with military and political thrills, combined with great girl problem solving (with some special powers thrown in). However this is just book #1 of 5 (thankfully, and all of them are good).
This is a really good book. It is action packed and full of suspense. Striker and the men of Iniquus try to keep Lexi safe from a serial killer after she is stalked for 8 months and then brutally attacked. Lexi has ESP and other abilities that have been taught to her secretly by another member of Iniquus and uses her talents to help solve cases while the men work to find her tormentor. This book will definitely keep you entertained.
I started reading in this world roughly in the middle. That means that some of these characters are a little bit familiar to me, but now I realize just how much I didn’t now. This story sucked me in from the very beginning. I was easily caught up in Lexi’s predicament and swept away with her in the events that transpire. The flurry of events surrounding the ending left me gasping for breath and desperate to know what happens next.
Lexi grew up un-schooled . Counter culture non-systemic home-school education. She thrived in that environment. It taught her critical thinking with practical applications.
Along the way, she was tutored in a variety of kitchen arts by her Kitchen Grandmothers. The ladies lived in the same apartment buildings, and each taught her about the foods, language and culture from their respective background. It left her an excellent cook, and skilled with many languages.
Through one of the Kitchen Grandmother exchanges, she met Spyder McGraw. He would expand on the martial arts training she already had from the across the road DoJang with Master Wang. Spyder had her help solving puzzles. He was prepping her to be an operative.
Lexi decides she wants a so called normal life, meets her Angel through a fire at the apartment building, and they wed 3 weeks later, just before his scheduled departure. His Ranger team gets him so drunk, he was passed out for his wedding night and gone first thing the next morning. Minimum one year deployment.
Lexi finds herself the victim of a twisted stalker. She reaches out to her long time family friend Detective Dave, as Spyder is somewhere in the wind. The situation is complex though, and brings her back to the team she knows from her work with Spyder- the work she walked away from when Spyder left and her mom died. Naturally, her teenaged crush Stryker is leading the team.
Lexi and her Team have to negotiate her poor health, resulting from a nasty attack by her lethal stalker. Added to that are a host of issues surrounding trust, training, and unexpected skills. Stryker faces family drama and an attraction to Lexi, a mutual one, especially confounding to Lexi as she is married to her Angel, never dated much growing up, and barely knows her husband- yet is in close quarters with a man who filled some teenaged dreams. Awkward – and challenging.
When lives are on the line, the trust Lexi shares with her team, and all of their combined skills and training pull them through .
An action packed suspense and romantic thriller. Great KU read!
Thrilling thriller, Some Scares & Lots Of Intrigue!!
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Lexi or ‘Lynx’ & the rest of the team sent to protect her!! They definitely started to feel a family which she needs I loved all of her neighbours too, they seemed a genuinely nice bunch of people
This was a gritty, psychological stalker thriller!! As strong minded & physically tough Lexi was, it became unbearable for her I felt so bad for her! Can’t wait to start the next book

Excellent book, creative, lots of action!
Featuring a strong, smart, multi-talented, likable, young heroine who is incredibly well-rounded, this book is fast-paced and entertaining. Lexi has multiple mentors who have trained her in each of their specialties. The resulting young woman can cook a different type of cuisine every night of the week, perform Reiki healing, outmaneuver highly trained teams at the paintball range, and solve complex criminal puzzles that stump law officials — just to name a few of her talents. I can’t wait read the next novel in this series because I’m completely hooked!
