“We Were Here is a bucketload of ALL THE FEELS…” — New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent We met in college, completely free for the first time in our lives and determined to enjoy every minute of it. For four years, we gossiped and flirted, partied and road-tripped. We were inseparable. Each of us has our own story of falling in or out of love. Of finding out who we are. Of … out who we are. Of growing up.
We thought we knew everything. We knew nothing.
In the 90’s, sex was dangerous, music was life, and love was something no one had ever felt like we did.
We Were Here is where the Modern Love Stories begins, in a standalone that perfectly captures the humor, angst, and sheer chaos of college.

We Were Here is a bucketload of ALL THE FEELS. I had a seriously-90s hangover after reading it. Made me want to peg my jeans and find a flannel. <3 As always, Daisy Prescott makes you feel, think, smile and remember all at once.
This book transported me back to my college days. I enjoyed the music at the beginning of each chapter to help set the scene and how the story progressed through the views of the different characters.
A bit too much sexual content for my liking, but the characters were great.
I loved it. I was so sad that I finished it, but this book doesn’t get enough hype. I love the alternating points of view, I love that they are all so different, I love that it’s raw and painful, it teaches us that sometimes we don’t always get what we want. (Maggie and Gil were just too sad to read) (Selah is bad but unique) (Quinn is crazy and my type of a friend) (Lizzy is just so innocent and well everyone wants a friend like her) (Jo & Ben those 2 are perfect and in the end, we all want some type of love story like theirs { without all the drugs, tutoring and fight ofc} I guess you can tell I loved this damn book.
The writing was good, comical, romantic, sad, happy, but mostly sad. There was really only one happy ending, altho there was a note eluding to the next book and knowing what happens to these people that meet in college and become really good friends for 4 years. I was disappointed that there weren’t more HEA. Book was written like each one telling his/her story of their most memorable experience in college years.
This brought me back to my college days. Wonderful read.
Clever dialog and relateable characters shine in this beautifully written story. Original delivery with intent to showcase the character development through four years is superb! The story flows from one character to the next moving the plot along at a fast pace leaving me wanting more. So happy to be able to read on about this wonderful mix of friends!!!
Character telling the story changes throughout the book, so a bit hard to follow if you don’t have a lot of time to read. I found it silly. Perhaps if you were/are college or high school age now or in the 90’s it might be a ‘page-turner’.
Didn’t care much for this book. Kind of boring.
This book really brought me back to my own college days–it made me mourn for that time, wishing I had understood how quickly that time goes when I was in the moment. I really enjoyed the characters, so much so, that I immediately read Geoducks Are For Lovers, which follows the characters years after they left college.
Good story
Loved the book layout and the characters; I could picture each character and felt I knew someone like them in my own college years.
Loved meeting this group of college buddies – can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
Best book I’ve read in a long time!
Would totally recommend it!
Great characters, funny, sad, wonder views
Thank You
Something everyone can relate to.
Very enjoyable, love the college friends!
Boring
i wanted to like this book better, but i think it didn’t hang together all that well and sometimes i was thinking more about the writing than the characters.
Total flashback to college. Made me want to listen to 90s music. I read this before geoducks are for lovers and I’m glad that I did. Really compelling characters.
Great coming of age book
