A NEW YORK TIMES, USA TODAY & WALL STREET JOURNAL BESTSELLER!From #1 New York Times Bestseller Vi Keeland, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning.I was late for the first day at my new job–a job I’d now have to compete for even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my … years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger.
While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons.
She’d ticketed a long line of cars–except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine.
Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine. Chances were, the owner would pay it and be none the wiser.
Except, I accidentally broke the windshield wiper while slipping the ticket onto the car’s window.
Seriously, my day couldn’t get any worse.
Things started to perk up when I ran into a gorgeous man in the elevator. We had one of those brief moments that only happened in movies.
You know the deal…your body lights up, fireworks go off, and the air around you crackles with electricity.
His heated stare left me flushed when I stepped off the elevator.
Maybe things here wouldn’t be so bad after all.
Or so I thought.
Until I walked into my new boss’s office and met my competition.
The gorgeous man from the elevator was now my nemesis. His heated stare wasn’t because of any mutual attraction. It was because he’d seen me vandalize his car. And now he couldn’t wait to annihilate his rival.
There’s a fine line between love and hate–and we shouldn’t cross it.
We shouldn’t–but straddling that line could be so much fun.

Another awesome read by this author! Two strong characters with just the right amount of everything.
Another hit from Vi. There is just a flow to a her books. Effortless.
You just flip the pages and fall in love with yet another character of hers. She continues to dream up these amazing men. What I really love about her stories is she always has a likable female lead too. Women that can hold their own.
Do the characters have their issues? Sure do, but who doesn’t.
Bennett and Annalise’s journey from enemies to lovers was a great trip. I loved their chemistry on and off of the job. Seeing Annalise break through the tough exterior of Bennett was fantastic fun and all kinds of sexy.

Review:
I really liked this book. I didn’t expect to like it this much if I’m being honest. I’ve read Vi’s collaboration books with Penelope Ward, and while those where good, they weren’t as good as this one.
The phase moved well, and yes it was a bit predictable at certain times, it worked for the story. It didn’t take way from it.
The banter in this book was really good as well, very entertaining.
What is this book about:
This book is about Bennet and Annalise. Both of them find themselves in a situation they rather not be in. After their companies merged both of them are fighting to keep their jobs, as there can only be one.
The fact that didn’t get of in a good way isn’t helping at all. You see Annalise got a ticket for parking in a space she shouldn’t, and another car that was in the same spot, didn’t. Ticked of by this Annalise checked out the other car to find out why he didn’t get a ticked, and managed to get her hair stuck underneath the wiper and while trying to free herself she accidentally broke it off. She walked away but walked back over, instead of writing a “sorry” note she put her ticket underneath the remaining wiper. She thought she got away with it but she didn’t know that the owner of the car, bennet saw it all happen.
Not only didn’t that little stunt helped their relationship, bennet being an asshole doesn’t help much either. He is arrogant and is willing to do allot to keep his job.
As both of them have to work together, their attraction towards each other continues to grow. But in the end, only one can keep the job, will they choose the possibility of love, or is their job really that important…
What did I like about this book
I liked the banter between Annalise and Bennet. Annalise really held her own and continued to stick to her falues. I must admit I was ticked off by her actions in the beginning. That was a dick move from her. Nobody likes getting a ticked but trying to pass yours off to someone else and destroying their car without an apology note is just wrong.
Anyhow, I liked watching Annalise and Bennet grow closer to each other. Their attraction is so palpable and they are great together.
Overall it was a very enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more from Vi in the future.
Rating:
4 1/2 I loved it Stars
Another fun, lighthearted, sexy read by Vi Keeland. Enemies at first site, vying for the same position soon find it hard to fight the combustible attraction between them. They fight like mortal enemies, yet at times they show each other something different. Though fighting is fun, the passion definitely transfers to the bedroom. A fun pair of characters with enough depth to keep you reading and anticipating the conclusion. Finished in a day, so an easy read for the ones looking for a great weekend read.
love this completely, just like every Vi book!
Loved it, couldn’t put it down
Bennett and Annalise their chemistry was awesome. They work together, yet on their own. It’s a competition.
While working together they learn about where they came from. Try to help put each other back together, make them whole.
Their attraction is great, all jokes aside.
There is drama, who doesn’t love some drama? Oh lets not forget their assistant Marina LOL! Dear gravy don’t take her lunch!!!
You’ll love it like I did
I picked this one up not knowing what it was about. Vi has become one of the authors were I don’t even bothering reading what the book is about before starting it. I totally loved it. This one stats off funny. Annalise gets a parking ticket and decides to put it on another car and brakes the windshield wiper by accident. So right there I was like I love Annalise, she’s spunky. Turns out the car she broke the wiper on belongs to Bennett. Bennett just happens to be her competition for a job. Bennett is sexy, confident and a little cocky. They are competing for the same position but there hearts may also be on the line. These two were fun to read about.
loved this enemies-to-lovers/office romance!
I have read every book written by Vi Keeland and “We Shouldn’t” is my new favorite. I work in marketing and really enjoyed reading about Bennett Fox and Annalise O’Neil as Creative Directors in a newly merged company, vying for the same job. Their meet-cute is awesome and had me laughing and shaking my head at the same time!
For me to leave a five-star review I really have to love and admire both the hero and the heroine, and I do! They are both talented, smart, successful, focused, passionate, and couldn’t keep their hands off of each other. I loved how respectful and honest they were with their feelings, when they weren’t bickering of course, and how they couldn’t deny their attraction to each other even knowing they had to work together and that one of them would be relocated to Texas to head up the creative team.
I read this book in one sitting because I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next with these two. Bennett appeared to be the strong, sexy type, but inside he had a good heart and was very loving and genuine. At first he was confused with his feelings, and I loved how open he was with her and to himself, and how she made him a better man. I loved how he admired her, even though she portrayed qualities that were very foreign to him like her organizational skills and customer relation skills.
This book was funny, emotional, romantic, and filled with angst all at the same time. I loved the ending and the decision they made and it was what I was hoping for ever since they entered the competition of who would stay and who would go. She was a rock star to me and I really admired her selfless act and leap of faith. “We Shouldn’t” is a five-star MUST READ for me, and a book I will definitely re-read in the future.
Annalise O’Neil has been having a tough go of it. After her boyfriend of eight years, Andrew, asked her for a break in their relationship and receiving a parking ticket (which she re-gifted to a car identical to hers) her first day at a new location due to a company merger, she is now being informed that she has to compete for the position of Creative Director of West Coast Marketing or go to Dallas and be the Creative Director there. Annalise has no intentions of moving to Texas because she has built her career, life, and friends in San Francisco and she believes that she can outsmart, outsell, and best her competition, Bennette Fox. Unfortunately, Bennett is the owner of the car that she re-gifted that parking ticket to and he saw her do it.
Bennette Fox has worked at his ad agency straight out of college. Even though he was reassured by his boss, Jonas Stern, that his job was safe in the current merger, he didn’t see the stipulation that came with it. Bennett and Annalise have a 90-day integration period in which they will have to win over the board members on three major client pitches or be shipped off to Dallas to be the creative director there. Bennett is stunned to recognize Annalise as the blond who re-gifted him a parking ticket from that morning and it is game on in taking down his competition. Unfortunately, the more these fiery, competitive characters work together, the more they see they have more in common than vying for the same job position at the same location. The attraction between these two is off the charts and they consider doing some things that they shouldn’t.
I loved how Vi Keeland wrote the witty banter between these two. It was snappy, funny, and original to say the least. For this being her first book of the new year, I loved it and I cannot wait to see what else she has in store for her audience.
** I voluntarily left a honest review after reading an advanced review copy of this book **
I loved this book so much, I could not piput it down. I loved the Bennett and Annalise show. Great characters, Annalise was funny, great work ethic, she couldn’t believe that she had to compete for job with Bennett. This was a great office enemies to lovers. I absolutely love Vi Keeland writing. You will not be disappointed in reading this book. It will give you all the feels.
Breathtaking love story!!!
This captivating romance had me under its spell right from the start and didn’t let go. A stunning love story that is powerfully raw, incredibly sexy, breathtakingly romantic and beautifully inspiring.
Bennett is incredibly sexy, fiercely protective, and very determined. I fell hard for him. Annalise is genuine, funny, loyal and very independent. I adore her. From their very first encounter they are inexplicably drawn to one another. Try as they may to fight their attraction, they are powerless to stop the fall. Their attraction is magnetic and chemistry is not only off-the-charts; it is palpable. The flirting, the banter, the rapport and the sarcasm between the characters was so much fun to read, was so natural, and had me laughing often. Their passion is sizzling and explosive. Together they are magical and witnessing them fall in love is absolutely breathtaking. They share a soul-deep connection that neither can explain. They both are haunted by their pasts and being together eases their pain.
The storyline is flawlessly written and the characters are well-developed and relatable. The emotions are so palpable and I could feel everything the characters experienced. How they fight for each other is powerfully moving. I loved every second of this incredible story and didn’t want it to end. If you want to read a book that will make you weak in the knees, steal your breath and have you laughing too than this is a book you definitely want to read. I highly recommend this book!
Bennett is HOT!!
I had to read this book just from the cover I luv it. It just stood out I didn’t even read the blurb which I never really do. I just had to read it and I’m so glad I did. It was really good. I luvd the story it was so good and really well written. I enjoy this authors books every time I read her. Her stories just get better with every book. Annalise and Bennett were great together. There relationship didn’t start good but being at each other’s throats all the time and fighting for the same job will do that to you. Plus finding each other attractive just made thing even more difficult.
Annalise is a sweet girls she sees the good in people even though they dont deserve it half the time. She luvd her job and is close with her family and best friend Madison. Things in her life were ok. Her luv life wasnt great after her ex boyfriend asked for a “break” God I hate that crap and he is a douchbag. I can’t stand the guy she could do so much better. Even though Bennett can be stupid at times he still had a lot goin for him and the guy is really sexy.
Bennett can be a proper grump. Things don’t go his way he will throw his dummy out of the pram. He needed someone that would push him and Annalise was that woman. His work life as alway been easy but his life outside of work is crazy and sad. I felt so sorry for this guy and can understand why luv and relationships are not in the cards. That side of his life as been hard for so long he has forgot what it’s like to be with a woman who he could have a life with.
I really did enjoy this book the story and characters were great. I actually luvd Annalise’s best friend Madison I would luv more of her so I’m praying that we get more of her. She is so straight and says it how it is and I thing her job is so fun. Her and Annalise are so what together to they bring out the best in each other. I would highly recommend this book. Really hoping for more.
3.5 stars. For me, the most memorable parts of Vi Keeland’s books are her heroes. When they have the right balance of sweetness and alpha boorishness, they strike a chord. Bennett Fox is music to my ears. I actually like his arrogance. It makes the banter between the hero and heroine fun. The story has plenty of sweet and just a drop of angst to make it very readable. There are elements that could have been flushed out a little more, but it might have made the story overdramatic. As it is, it is a light and fun read that will bring a smile to your face.
“We don’t fall in love with the perfect person; we fall in love despite a person’s imperfections.”
I absolutely adored this book! It took me on an emotional journey and had me gripped from the onset. Bennett is to die for and is guaranteed to become any romance lovers new book boyfriend.
Bennett is handsome, charismatic and a bit of an asshole. He’s confidently cocky and is used to getting his own way. So when the company he works for merges with a new one, he does not expect to have to work hard and compete for his role.
Annalise is beautifully stunning but has had her heartbroken, and after encountering the asshole that is ‘Bennett’, she is determined to fight for her job but fairly. She is loathed to give him the satisfaction of winning their battle, however struggles to fight the battle of her feelings.
The written chemistry between these two characters is just unreal and I found myself laughing out loud or screaming at Bennett.
Beneath Bennett’s bravado lies a softer side, a side that is hiding a painful past and guilt. He doesn’t believe he deserves to be loved, and tries his hardest to push Annalise away. But little does he know that Annalise has already imprinted herself upon his life without him realising.
The story is beautifully written and very realistic. It’s been an enjoyable read that kept me up wanting to finish reading and to know how it ended. It’s emotional, sexy and tackles a lot of tough topics such as loss and grief, and I think it was handled so perfectly that it made me love Keeland’s writing style even more.
I’d recommend to all romance lovers or anyone looking to delve into a new book.
I would describe We Shouldn’t as a gentle, somewhat amiable, enemies to lovers office romance, as there’s no real hate here. There’s not a huge amount of angst and any rivalry or tension seems to resolve fairly quickly when it happens. Don’t get me wrong, Bennett is smug and rude a large proportion of the time. He was difficult to warm to and was so frustrating, I could’ve slapped him. He’s rather cutthroat in his business dealings and comes across as somewhat ruthless. However, his internal thoughts show us that there’s more going on here than meets the eye and this went a long way to redeeming him. Once it was revealed to us, I really enjoyed seeing his softer side under the hard and cocky façade and his interactions with a certain younger character were so sweet and funny.
For the most part I found Annalise a likeable character, although she was a bit of a cryer and almost too reasonable at times. There were more than a few occasions I would’ve given Bennett, not to mention her ex, “what for” had I been her. She’s not a complete pushover but she does get herself into some embarrassing situations. I really enjoyed the moments with her family and Bennett’s interaction and banter with them had me chuckling.
Whilst not my favourite, overall I enjoyed the book and the storyline. I loved the writing style and certainly the humour. I just would’ve liked more emotion from the lead characters a bit sooner and for there to be a little less hot and cold between them. Nevertheless, this was a very entertaining read, funny and sexy, with a very HEA.
Love all her books !!!!!
Such a great read, I stayed up way too late until i finished this book. I started laughing from page one and the chemistry between these two is amazing. I loved so much of it I can’t find a favorite moment, though I did enjoy ‘you will love my Mother’s cooking’. I love his tough loner vibe he puts out but I’m in love with his soft side that she gets to see. I love the cowboy hat and that he calls her Texas. There’s soo many things about this book to love so no spoilers.
Vi Keeland does it again!! The perfect balance of sexy time and heartfelt romance.
Bennett and Annalise- what a hate/love story!! These two together are amazing!! Fighting for the same job- they need to work together but annoy each other!
They have great chemistry and a connection that kept me wanting more!! I couldn’t put this book down. Bennett’s history makes him doubt himself but Annalise sees something in him!
The story is full of banter, laughter and a pure joy of falling for someone even when you question yourself!!
