A NEW YORK TIMES, USA TODAY & WALL STREET JOURNAL BESTSELLER!From #1 New York Times Bestseller Vi Keeland, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning.I was late for the first day at my new job–a job I’d now have to compete for even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my … years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger.
While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons.
She’d ticketed a long line of cars–except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine.
Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine. Chances were, the owner would pay it and be none the wiser.
Except, I accidentally broke the windshield wiper while slipping the ticket onto the car’s window.
Seriously, my day couldn’t get any worse.
Things started to perk up when I ran into a gorgeous man in the elevator. We had one of those brief moments that only happened in movies.
You know the deal…your body lights up, fireworks go off, and the air around you crackles with electricity.
His heated stare left me flushed when I stepped off the elevator.
Maybe things here wouldn’t be so bad after all.
Or so I thought.
Until I walked into my new boss’s office and met my competition.
The gorgeous man from the elevator was now my nemesis. His heated stare wasn’t because of any mutual attraction. It was because he’d seen me vandalize his car. And now he couldn’t wait to annihilate his rival.
There’s a fine line between love and hate–and we shouldn’t cross it.
We shouldn’t–but straddling that line could be so much fun.

WE SHOULDN’T by Vi Keeland is a contemporary, adult, stand alone erotic, romance story line focusing on advertising account executives thirty-one year old, Bennett Fox and twenty-eight year old, Annalise O’Neil.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Annalise and Bennett) WE SHOULDN’T follows the workplace relationship and romance between advertising account executives thirty-one year old, Bennett Fox and twenty-eight year old, Annalise O’Neil. A business merger between Wren Media and Foster Burnett meant Annalise O’Neil had to prepare to do battle for the position of Creative Director of West Coast Marketing, a position currently held by Bennett Fox. Bennett Fox was unprepared for his visceral reaction to Annalise O’Neil but when the head of operations proposes a three-deal competition all bets are off as Bennett battles between head and heart for his job and the woman with whom he is falling in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Annalise and Bennett, and the potential fall-out as miscommunication, misunderstanding and misspoken words push Annalise out of Bennett’s world.
The relationship between Annalise and Bennett is one of mutual attraction but Annalise sees Bennett as nothing but a manwh*re and in direct competition for the position she once held so dear. Bennett’s slow seduction of our story line heroine is filled with snark and sass. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters are colorful and energetic including Annalise’s ex-boyfriend Andrew; her best friend and food critic Madison, Annalise’s parents Matteo and Margo Bianchi, and Bennett’s godson Lucas.
WE SHOULDN’T is a story of family, friendship, regrets and love. The premise is spicy and spirited; the characters are animated, flirty, sassy and sexy; the romance is provocative and energetic.
This was an amazing book. I purchased it on an audible sale for something different than my usual romantic suspense and was hooked very quickly. This humorous enemies-to-lovers story made me laugh out loud many times….then it hit me in the heart on a level so unexpected it threw me off a little. But WOW, it made the story become one of my favorites that will go on my re-listen list. I’m a quote addict and there are several from this story but this is one of the top ones that won’t spoil anything: “That’s the thing about love. We don’t fall in love with the perfect person. We fall in love despite a person’s imperfections. “
The instant chemistry between the main characters always catches my attention. I loved how Vi Keeland was able to keep her readers on the edge of their seats through out the book we see the sassiness and wittiness between Annalise and Bennett. Though they are enemies but soon they become lovers and I absolutely loved it. I can’t wait to read more Vi Keeland. Most definitely worth reading and listening it.
Who doesn’t love a great enemies to lovers story! This story had it all. Witty banter, chemistry, and a few laugh out loud moments that made me cringe. An entertaining read!
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Funny, hot, with great characters
4.5
Good romance that’s funny, but also has some emotional moments, well written with good dialogue and good characters. The story is at the same time simple for the thread of the romance, but it is also complex because the character of Bennett who seems so sure of himself, but who he’s rife with contradictions. His behavior sends all the time vague signals to Annalize, his opponent to obtain a promotion, and the object of his desire which he represses and hides under his arrogance.
The narrative may be a little more predictable than previous Vi Keeland stories I had read before, but it is still excellent.

Man, Vi You have done it again with another great romance!! Easily an auto-buy author for me. Loved the office romance and all the tension. Nothing like a good fast-paced romance. Exactly what I wanted.
*4 Stars*
Let me start by saying that the cover of this book is one of my faves! Hello sexy!
I enjoyed this story as I have with all Vi Keeland books that I’ve read so far. I liked the competition and chemistry between Bennett and Annalise, even if sometimes they were frustrating me.
Bennett is dealing with some serious issues from his past, and Annalise has her own personal things going on, and these two seem to know how to help each other out as things get revealed. It’s nice to have both the serious and the fun sides with a story.
Enjoyed this one and loved the ending. Looking forward to reading more Vi Keeland in the future.
Adored this book! It was humorous, a touch angsty and super sexy.
“I’ve never wanted a woman like I want you, and of course, you’re the one woman I can’t have.”
Bennett Fox is an adorable, cocky alpha-hole hiding a big heart. He doesn’t do commitment. Annalise O’Neil is adorkable, sassy and feisty. She’s just getting over a long-term relationship. Her new work colleague sure is model-gorgeous but he’s so arrogant. Plus, he’s her competition. However, the more time they spend together, the more she realises there’s more to him than meets the eye.
“It was surreal how much I wanted this woman. Needed this woman. Craved this woman – even when I hadn’t wanted to.”
This story was so much fun. Bennett gets knocked sideways by Annalise. He finds himself acting well out of character. He blows hot and cold because his feelings scare and confuse him. As time goes on, he shows her how to have more fun in her life (he has a fantastic sense of humour), and in turn, she shows him that he deserves to be loved. Their chemistry was sizzling, their banter was sparkling, and their connection was solid. I laughed a lot whilst reading this story. It was a fabulous mix of humour and steaminess, with some heart-melting moments. Thoroughly recommend! Loved it!
We Shouldn’t? We Definitely Should!
I’ll be honest…I don’t think I’ve read a book by Vi Keeland I didn’t like…She always grabs me from page one and never lets me go…And We Shouldn’t is no different….Plus, she, truly, writes some of the funniest stuff….In fact, if you can read this book without laughing….I don’t know what to say…
Bennett Fox is all alpha and somewhat of an as-hole…Annalise O’Neil is strong and smart and a thorn in Bennett’s side….and she’s not going anywhere…Bennett and Annalise have been thrown together by the merging of their two companies…and they are competing for the same job…These two have scorching chemistry……These two could light up a city…We Shouldn’t is a good book…it’s Vi Keeland, after all….
I adored everything about this story. Annalise and Bennett have sparks flying right from the beginning, their banter was amusing, and their chemistry was off the charts. They may have been fighting for the same job but what the discover is so much more than what either of them believes they deserve. This story was simply perfect.
2019published, both-pov, contemporary, easy-to-read, erotic, office, plot, read, romance, san-francisco, sex, steamy
This is one of those books that as soon as you finished reading it, you could erase it all and experience it again. The writing is great and the story telling is engaging and emotional. We Shouldn’t has a perfect mix of drama, guilt, turmoil, plot twists, sizzling chemistry, and so much more.

What a wonderful and well told love story! The characters have depth, the story is well paced, the sex is hot. This book will keep you entertained and make you feel good.
The companies that Bennett and Annalise work for have merged. Now there is only one position, and they must compete for it. Nothing could go wrong, right?! Well, except when the sparks fly! She tried hard not too fall for his charming playboy ways. He tried to avoid her sweet, sexy sassiness. By the end, they were no longer fighting their urges to stay away from each other. Great love story with a happy ending!
Another binge worthy read with amazing character development! In fact, the witty banter and build up of sexual tension between Bennett and Anna was so good that I didn’t even notice that it took more than half the book before they finally got together as it was so well developed that the timing was perfect when it did happen. One piece of advice I want to give everyone who reads this story, though, make sure that when you’re reading chapters from Bennett’s POV that you don’t eat or drink anything because you just might find yourself spitting it out due to his laugh out loud inner dialogue. You’ve been warned!
A full-throated argument for adding real romance and humor to every story ever told.
Let’s talk Texas 🙂 THIS STORY IS SOOOO MUCH MORE that an enemies to lovers office romance!
For every moment of humor and surprise, there were moments of deep sorrow and longing. Still shocked writing this how many emotions this story stirred up.
Bennett is a god… written with a sweet measure of his own vulnerability. He’s a jerk, sure, but he never slips into a**h***. His distance and reserved tendencies are earned. There is a reason Bennett is disconnected and it’s honest. And yet, he’s the type of man who’s soooo confident in his manliness, he can admit what a non-stud he was at the same time you sense he is gonna know every trick in the book. We need more Bennett Foxes in our fiction.
Texas is an unknowing booty call queen. And it’s so delicious to fall for this pair.
Just buy the book. All the superlatives apply. Must read, can’t put it down, swoon hero, sassy heroine.
This page-turning love letter is Hilarious too.
Annalise is a vulnerable live out loud take no crap goddess. There are more quirks packed in here… she’s an oral driver, she has a Return of the Jedi fetish, and she eats pizza and cheats. I love her, even though she’s a creative fruitcake, what a sexy little rule breaker she is.
Every part of her is a perfect foil to the controlled, measured Bennett who is one broken lead pencil away from losing it over this co-worker who’s gunning for his job. I LOVED EVERY WORD.
Annalise is a fantastic heroine. And Keeland lingers, giving us a full-bodies woman to root for. She’s isn’t cookie cutter. She’s alone, sure, but she’s complicated. Smart and funny, and a total mess. When we meet her, she’s stretched out over a stranger’s car, wrestling a windshield wiper out of her curling hair. As soon as that disaster is averted, she goes deviant. Not what we were expecting, and definitely not what hot hot ad exec Bennett Fox was either. And Fox is everything. In his puffed up maleness, he calls Annalise Texas to intimidate her, shoves her in a janitor’s closet and then goes on over the course of the book to reveal one of the most real, and resonating backstories I’ve read.
A fantastic part of this story is how ADULT the story is. A few of the highlights are:
–they talk like adults, they discuss their connection, their careers, their hopes and defeats.
–the scenes we need are written out, not just referenced. The whole story is shown, not told. It’s refreshing.
–their connection is earned and OMG the sizzles and heat. I can’t stand it.
–guilt and shame are here too. in a subtle, touching sub plot delivered with nuance and sorrow.
I cried and laughed over the same sentences. This is simply a great story with great characters who TALK! They have adult conversations and wrestle with real issues. I loved every word. They are complex, and nothing is every trite or vague. There are no short cuts for either of them, and that’s part of the charm.
Bennet is such a tease, I’ve laughed for days over his punchy flirting …picks up french fry… to …opening legs wide… …wrap my fingers around… There are fantastic memories from every chapter.
Last note: “Only race car drivers and pompous jerks wear driving gloves.” PERFECT!
This is just wonderful silly, sensual page turning writing. All the Stars.
This book had a lot of build up to the meat of the story but it was great none the less. Loved the characters and the angst and romance within this story.
We Shouldn’t stop reading this. We Shouldn’t settle for anything less. We Shouldn’t leave our hearts unattended when reading this new masterpiece by Vi Keeland, because once you blink, you would have missed the story of a lifetime.
Seriously I couldn’t stop reading this book, especially after Fox Bennett got a parking ticket from the woman who accidentally took out his car’s windshield wiper that was entangled on her hair. Yep, from that moment on, I know this is a story that would totally consume me.
Bennett’s and Annalise’s companies merged but they we’re vying for a particular position and the other one’s would have to relocate to Texas soon. Both we’re competitive and qualified, but only one is needed to stay. These two smooth operators would have you laughing and admiring at their tactics as they proved their credentials.
Bennett Fox is an alpha male brimming with hotness that could very well leave me scalded by the end of the book. If I were standing in front of him, I’m sure I couldn’t, wouldn’t, shouldn’t take my eyes off him. And Annalise, bless her heart, she’s one tough cookie who deeply moved me. I loved her the moment she slapped that parking ticket as a revenge.
I love the heavy dose of laughter in the book, it felt therapeutic and cathartic to have laughed out loud a dozen times, and shed some tears (okay, I cried a bucket so sue me). Vi Keeland did it again, her stories never fail to delight me. Every time she pens a story, I knew beforehand that it’s going to be a beloved bestseller. Another must-read that We Shouldn’t miss!
I could not put this book down!!!! Fleshed out characters, loved both the hero & heroine!!!
