Bob Johansson has just sold his software company and is looking forward to a life of leisure. There are places to go, books to read, and movies to watch. So it’s a little unfair when he gets himself killed crossing the street.Bob wakes up a century later to find that corpsicles have been declared to be without rights, and he is now the property of the state. He has been uploaded into computer … computer hardware and is slated to be the controlling AI in an interstellar probe looking for habitable planets. The stakes are high: no less than the first claim to entire worlds. If he declines the honor, he’ll be switched off, and they’ll try again with someone else. If he accepts, he becomes a prime target. There are at least three other countries trying to get their own probes launched first, and they play dirty.
The safest place for Bob is in space, heading away from Earth at top speed. Or so he thinks. Because the universe is full of nasties, and trespassers make them mad – very mad.

Probably one of my favorite series, though Iistened to the audiobook so that may have added to the experience.
Fantastic new world! Sci-fi at it’s best: unique, clever, science-based, funny and poignant. Love Bob
This book is brilliant and full of excellent worldbuilding and witty, page-turning dialogue. I also loved the hard sci fi and the hilarity of the whole concept. Bobs replicating themselves and spreading across the galaxy? It might just be crazy enough to work. I highly recommend the Bobiverse to anyone who likes sci fi and laughing!
I’ve seen this book pop up on Audible’s home page for months. The reviews about it are off the charts so when it went on sale, I picked it up. It is a super enjoyable book and the narration is superb.
Bob had his head frozen after he got hit by a car and died. He regains awareness to find that he is now the property of FAITH and is now a computer program. He reasons to be considered as the AI for a Van Neumann probe to find habitable planets to colonize.
I loved how the narrator gave each copy of Bob a slightly different voice. I can’t wait to read the sequels.
The whole Bobiverse series is very entertaining.
Whole series is good
I don’t normally read science fiction but I gave this series a try….and I am glad that I did. Excellent writing….and if you listen to the audio book format, the narration is also excellent.
I loved the audio book version of We Are Legion. It was fantastic. The narration was spot-on, and the story was so imaginative. Usually post-human civilizations turn into bleak stories, but this one was pure, irreverent fun. Don’t get me wrong. This book tackles some heavy themes if you stop to think about them, but the humorous writing puts a positive spin on them generating a hope that’s usually missing from such storylines. I loved the two sequels as well. If you like humorous speculative fiction, you’ll love this book.
